  1. Honestly, I'd have to study both the G8 and CTS closely and test drive each...all things being equal, I find both cars attractive and interesting...can't wait to see both in person..
  2. It will probably have traction control....put on a good set of snow tires and it will be fine for winter use...
  3. Some people will whine about anything...the only way they are happy is when they are complaining...
  4. Yes...hopefully those wheels show up, though..they are pretty slick looking, iMHO...not the usual dull 5-spoke.
  5. And the exterior design..the G8 looks much better than the Charger, IMHO...can't wait to see it in person... And the availability of a manual immediately puts the G8 above the Charger and 300C as far as I'm concerned...
  6. Well, the 362 hp definitely beats the 5.7 Hemi's 350hp... I bet they will do a 400+ hp GXP model to compete with the SRT8 if the GT is a success...
  7. Looks great..I'm glad they left off the huge rear wing that the SS V has.. crisp. clean. modern. a minimum of add-ons. I love the wheels..not the usual 5-spokes that everyone has done to death..
  8. Yeah, hopefully they won't market the G8 to the boomers...aim it at my generation (Gen X thirtysomethings)...though most of my peers aren't into domestics, I'm sure some people will be open-minded enough to consider a V8 Pontiac.
  9. One thing I wondered..where are the Commodores built? For some reason I thought it was Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and not in Australia...
  10. Or the type that never buy new cars and always blather on about how great cars were in 1970..
  11. Yes... you can't win with the fogeys and sentimentalists, best to just ignore them and be optimistic for a successful future of this modern car..
  12. Probably covered to keep off dust and keep away thieves..
  13. I'm surprised to hear you like it...after all, it doesn't have Wide Track, tailfins, yards of chrome, BOF, vinyl seats, a hardtop or carburators... I figured you'd be stuck in 1959 with Balthazar.
  14. Yes.. I just hope people will be able to overcome residual prejudice for the Pontiac brand (and for many, many car shoppers Pontiac means overstyled FWD rental cars) and accept this car for what it is--a modern, world-class RWD V8 sports sedan, something that GM is NOT known for (outside of Cadillac).
  15. For a $35k sports coupe not to have a sunroof as an option was absurd... small issue, but still irritating.
  16. I saw the Toyota ad with the canyon again tonight during 24..I assume it was faked/CGI (i.e. no canyon there, just a flat road).
  17. Of course you won't like it..it doesn't have Wide Track, tailfins, yards of chrome, BOF, vinyl seats, a hardtop or carburators... we know you won't like it...
  18. Lovely..those numbers sound like how it was last week in Regina, Saskatchewan..two of my coworkers were up there last week visiting family...told me stories of it getting down to 40 below...
  19. I'm waiting until I see it in person until I make a real judgement on it... can't really tell by pictures... I've seen tons of photos of the Commodore on line and I like what I see from the pics, but I need to see it in person.
  20. Good question...I wonder if the G8 is going to be a one-trim model or if there will be V6 trims?
  21. Yes, looks like there is a bit of pointiness to the fascia...I'd like to see an offset license plate. Centered plates are just so ordinary.
  22. I doubt if it's something that old..I'd assume the G8 will have the same 6.0 as the '06 GTO?
  23. After 7 weeks of cold and snow, the weather finally broke...upper 40s and sun yesterday and 60 and sunny today...woooohooo...enough to make me want to leave work early and drive around w/ the sunroof open and windows down. It's been a relatively hard winter so far here in the Mile High City... and normally, March and April are our big snow months...but hopefully the coldest is over (it was -18 last Thurs. night).
  24. Those are a retro touch, probably to placate the oldsters that whined about the '04 GTO not having a hood scoop..though I don't mind 'em. The taillights are from the Holden Commodore SS V-series, it looks like.. I like the grille treatment.
  25. Cool tease..
