  1. Cool...maybe you can paint it blue and red as an Earl replica..
  2. I've paid twice about $1000-1100 to ship cars from Colorado to eastern Ohio and vice versa, so it's probably similar..
  3. The rear ones appear to be right in front of the door releases...the front ones, maybe on the console?
  4. Here's a pic of myself from a couple years ago with some neat little red cars:
  5. Yes, unsafe at any speed... I'm surprised GM got away with building such subpar junk...I'm surprised Nader didn't jump all over this..
  6. Like, never? Pontiac's never had anything like this.. the '04-06 GTO was the closest... with few exceptions, Pontiac has had badly styled, forgettable, disposable FWD models for the past 25 years... the Solstice and this car represent a new, meaningful direction for the brand.
  7. I've long been a fan of the Skyline, since I first read about it in Autocar around 1990 or so..then I built several Tamiya Skyline kits...didn't see one in person until 2000 in LA. There are several Skylines running around here, R32s and R33s imported by Motorex. I wouldn't mind having one someday, RHD and all.. The one Japanese sports car I've lusted about for years is the NSX..I will own sooner or later, a pre-facelift model. I've always wanted a midengined sportscar, and it's the one for me... there are some Ferraris down in the relatively cheap used price range, but they are old and very expensive cars to maintain..the NSX is pretty reasonable on the maintenance costs. After being around my buddy Steve's NSX and driving it a few times, I love it..
  8. That reminds me of a car I used to see a while back...in my neighborhood, someone had a light blue/white top '70 Catalina 4dr sedan.. red decklid and missing rear pan, but solid and rust-free...haven't seen it in 6 months or so.. seeing a car on the streets that's 30 years old or more is a pretty rare sight around here..
  9. It's funny all the debate about the G8 when most people here haven't even seen it person (photos don't count) let alone drive it...
  10. Anyone here with interesting names for their computers..i.e. other than the IP address, giving it a hostname? It's kind of a computer geek thing, I think...friends of mine name their computers after things like sci fi characters, Star Trek characters, places in the Lord of the Rings movies, etc... when I set up my current home network about 5 years ago I went the naming scheme of vintage GM car names that end in 'A'... as I've added computers, I've added names... my network now consists of Ventura, Catalina, Electra, Invicta, Impala, and Omega.
  11. I've used ING for a couple of years, been happy with it.
  12. I've never paid for ganja either...I have too many lefty ex-West Coast graphic artist/web programmer buddies...
  13. Librax controls Irritable Bowel Syndrome aka Mad Bowel, evil bowel. I normally get by fine with Immodium, but sometimes to keep from firehosing after vindaloo I need something stronger...
  14. I probably smoke a joint or have a bong hit 3-4 times a year, at most, at parties.. I never really got into smoking frequently... I did try cocaine a couple times at parties when I was in college, late '80s..didn't like it. I used to have a cigar with a single malt scotch with friends in the late '90s-early '00s, haven't had one in 3-4 years now.. I'll have a cigarette when I'm hosting a pint in a pub with friends occassionally at happy hour. I drink 2-3 beers a week, usually a microbrew or Corona or Coors Light... I enjoy wine, usually a glass or two with dinner ocassionally... I used to do shots of Jaegermiester and others, but I don't drink much hard liquor beyond the occasional volka martini, gin and tonic, or rum and Coke.. As far as prescription drugs, I've got Ambien, Zoloft (used to do Prozac) and Librax.
  15. Whatever...the Bonneville was a dated FWD car with awkward FWD proportions and a nasty interior...the G8 is so much better, so much more modern...a crisp, clean design..can't even compare the two.. The G8 doesn't look like a Pontiac from 1959, 1970, 1995, whatever. BFD! Get over it..this is a Pontiac for the future!

Yeah... and when it sits lower, it would be easier to curb, scrape on driveways, bottom out on speed bumps...etc. I've afraid I've gotten so used to having 8-9 inches of ground clearance it would be really hard for me to get used to a car's lowness in a daily driver..
  17. Good to see...I've been buying a few shares every month as part of my portfolio..good to see it's gaining value.
  18. The Ranger is too outdated to take seriously, IMHO...the Colorado/Canyon seem cheap inside..I'm not a truck fan, but if I were looking at smallish trucks, I'd probably go with the Tacoma..seems the nicest inside and out..
  19. I can see the G8 appealing to people like me that hadn't seriously considered Pontiacs in the past...I've thought most Pontiacs (except for the GTO) in the last 15 years or so have been too gaudy on the outside, too cheap on the inside, and FWD. I like the crisp, clean understated look of the G8, the interior, the option list, and the serious hardware.

I've read that GM intentionally leaves the wheel well to tire gaps big so that it's easy to put tire chains on...I don't know if that's an urban legend or not. I know if the weather is bad enough to need chains, I'm not leaving the house...
  21. A 426ci new Hemi would be interesting..wasn't the 392 a Hemi way back in the Fifties? 426 is the Hemi designation from the muscle car era with resonance...
  22. Other than seeing the Rainier at the Denver Auto Show last year, I can't recall the last time I saw one...or an Ascender..or a 9-X. And this is an area with a very high concentration of SUVs (probably one of the highest of any metro area).
  23. Yeah, but remember GM used to make collapsable junk like that also...as recently as the Astro and Blazer...
  24. I like driver oriented dashes... that was a strong BMW design cue for decades before the recent Bangled models and one detail I've always liked about BMWs.
  25. Hopefully they will have more interior color choices and/or two-tones...I truly hate gray interiors..
