  1. Haha, so I guess 6'3" would be a little tight?
  2. I love the Simpsons--I haven't watched the newer ones in a few years, but the older ones, primarily the first 10 seasons, were HYSTERICAL. I mean, if there was a touchy subject that people shouldn't bring, this show not only brought it up, it blew every possible aspect about it out of proportion so you couldn't help but laugh. My favorite thing is to show my Super-Earth-Conscious friend the episodes that involve some heavy Nature abuse LOL One of my fav scenes is Homer taking a test drive of a new electric car just to get a free gift for doing so. He takes the car out, everyone compliments how silent it is, and then he drives it off a peir and electrocutes all the fish and whales in the water LOL and then the car screams in a robotic voice, "Why, why was I programmed to feel pain?!"
  3. Well, from what we have read here, the next gen CTS interior is going to be mindblowing. I can't wait! :) So, what are we looking at for the debut of this Camry? Early Spring maybe?
  4. What I used to hate is a little thing like that--for example, the last gen malibu interior has white lighting for EVERYTHING, but the clock/station display on the radio, a bright blue. Or my fav, the slightly different shades in colors between the gauge colors (bluish/green) and the button colors (blue) in Buicks. What seems very nicely done is the Lucerne--it seems as though the gauges have been given a VERY nice deep bluish/turquoise look--and that all the buttons are illuminated exactly the same as well as radio and HVAC displays. It's a little attention to detail like that, that to me conveys a harmony within the interior of the car.
  5. Uh oh, Fly, we may have spoken prematurely... if you look at the display where the temps are shown, it is not backlit green, but more of a whitish color. Maybe the buttons will be illuminated to match? They are not lit in these pictures.
  6. OMG - Fly, you're f'in BRILLIANT for saying that--FOR YEARS I've been saying that about the gauges and the fugly green-lit buttons in the car. I am also talking about the quality of materials--the Camry's materials seem to be more upscale than the more-expensive entry-lux CTS. That to me is sad. Also, the layout of the CTS, although supposed to be sporty, is awkward and blocky in some areas--the Camry's, for it's purposes, flows beautifully imo. So, I'm comparing how well they were executed for their intentions. Not exactly a direct 1 on 1 comparo like I did with the Malibu/Impala/G6/LaCrosse vs. Camry (that's why I put it as a separate paragraph).
  7. LOVE the gauges though :) Still wish they were LED lit <_<
  8. It's horrible that the new Camry interior will beat out all of GMs sedans that compete with it in some fashion... the Impala, Malibu, G6, LaCrosse, and upcoming Aura. God this is going to be harsh (and I can bet I'll get yelled at for this), but I feel this interior is nicer than even the current CTS!!! I'm just talking about style-wise that is.
  9. That makes no sense, because in the other Pontiac applications, G6 sedan and coupe, the rpms are at 4000 for not-so-low-end torque. So I wouldn't call it a tuning thing... just for one version of the same vehicle... I'd really go with more like what others suggest, that it has something to do with it being fitted to the convertible.
  10. It's a shame there is a ring there--too bad it couldn't all be smooth--one piece. Would look much classier that way imo.
  11. Oh. Ummm... that's all I have to say. I really was expecting a bit more honestly. Thanks for posting it though Mike :)
  12. Hey BV... Ironically, this was on today's page: http://money.cnn.com/2005/11/04/news/newsm.../deer/index.htm It's essentially saying the state with the highest auto-deer collisions is PA!
  13. I guess it's not fair if we gave this to like a critic and watched them write something like, "And using the ANCIENT V6, Toyota's performance was subpar."
  14. Any idea when we get specs for this car?
  15. Again, the Solstice (and Sky twin when it comes out), is the ONLY roadster I would EVER consider buying. I'm such a tall guy, it'd be so cramped... but I'm telling you, it so sweet-looking and for the price? I'd suffer B)
  16. I completely agree with you Ven... and for years I've been wondering why there was any need for overlap between brands. Just completely self-defeating at this point. I feel the LaCrosse should be priced JUST under the base ES330, but be an awesome competitor (would need a lot of tweaking under it's current look/build). The Lucerne, well, I'd love that to be an LS competitor, but it's just not that expensive, and the LS is just light-years ahead in luxury (reclining/heated/massaging rear seats, a coolbox in the rear armwrest, rear climate controls, etc.), and just think, in a year or two, the new LS will come out and put the current one to shame. The Lucerne more competes with the ES330, and the LaCrosse with Camry/Accord--but then again, the Impala is Camry/Accord territory--why have all this confusion and competition? When a person who's cross-shopping will look at the up-level accords and camrys' and will say, "Oh, this Impala isn't as refined inside." But then they might not look at the LaCrosse because it's hey, another dealer, another manufacturer.
  17. YES.. I've been saying to myself, the STS interior would have been nice for the LaCrosse and the DTS interior would have been nice for the Lucerne (albeit, it's almost identical, but just still a little nicer). Caddy's interiors should be jaw-dropping and revolutionary--it should take an edge like their exteriors do.
  18. See, I like 'em big, so guy #1 is my choice... however, he's got a goofy lookin' face and haircut so it distracts.
  19. Hey BV, if it makes you feel better, I spent the day before, the day of, and the day after Thanksgiving all alone with the flu. Not a person in sight. And I threw up the mashed potatoes I had made, not that I could taste them. Sorry you had a rough day - better luck next year!
  20. See, this is what concerns me. Yes, Buick should be above the afformentioned brands, however, it is not far enough above. And in my opinion, Chevy is below Toyota/Honda. So, it's almost as though the brands don't line up correctly. I mean, I guess Buick is supposed to be the Entry Lux territory, but I just find that it doesn't match up to other makes evenly. This just all boils down to how GM is structured and how other manufacturers are structured. Example being, I'd compare a Lucerne to the Toyota Avalon or Lexus ES330--now that's Buick's top sedan. I would never compare Buick's top sedan to Lexus' top sedan. However, I would never compare Buick's cheapest sedan to Toyota's cheapest sedan. Just as I would compare an Accord EX-V6 to the LaCrosse CXS--but that's Honda's most-luxurious sedan (excluding the Acura brand) to Buick's lowest-end model (the souped-up low-end model). See what I'm saying? I see this as a problem for GM and Buick--people will go to compare manufacturers to manufacturers rather than vehicle to vehicle.
  21. Damn, too bad that couldn't have been fixed before it debuted in those cars--the DoD would have helped boost the PATHETIC fuel economy figures from the 3900. Everytime I look at the numbers, I keep hearing to myself, "God, just get the V8."
  22. I'm assuming that's not a trophy after it's been in cold water?
  23. I just can't believe things like this get APPROVED by people!!   And what's scarier--she's kissing the weewee, while her hat and shirt are promoting the cereal with the giant hole in it!
  24. Well, what concerns me is this: Buick seems to be turning things around with the Lucerne. It's a great car that could be awesome with a few tweaks (6-speed automatic, drop the 3800 as base engine, etc.) What worries me is that Buick put out a great car like this, now, which is good competition for cars that are out, now. But soon after, manufacturers will go way above and beyond expectations and put something out incredible. Where does this leave Buick (as well as all of GM--this just keeps happening over and over)? Why can't GM take the lead anymore? Seriously. I mean, I love the Lucerne, but in a year or two, will it be enough against competition?
  25. Oh man, how could I miss this!! Happy Belated Birthday Fly!!!! :) Congrats--knock back a bit one for me :)
