Huge improvement to the interior IMO. Like the tweaks to the lights... although it gives me an Audi/VW feel.

Hyundai News:Hyundai To Redesign Current Sonata Due To Poor Sales Start
Paolino replied to William Maley's topic in Hyundai
Any idea when we'll see it? It's been over 3 months since you posted that. The 200 and CC are both beautiful cars. I LOVE the idea of a Pentastar 200. -
So.... This guy is the head of Buick design in Michigan, and I was appalled by his presentation of the Cascada. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPL8nxbTKDE Problems I had: "The fit and finish is superior in this vehicle." Superior to what? "It's a very simple interior." You have 46 buttons on the center stack. FORTY-SIX. All touching each other. "This car is not all about the latest technologies.... It's more about the driver's experience, and sense of well-being." Perhaps you shouldn't lead off with saying this car doesn't have the latest technology. "... very simple controls, very simple layout." FORTY-SIX buttons and 4 dials in your center stack, squished together. "This is a perforated leather. This enables the heated seats." It enables the heated seats to what? You just stopped mid-sentence. I know a ton of cars with heated seats that don't have perforated leather. Why should I care? "This is a Buick-exclusive color, neutral." No it isn't, it's in Chevy, too. And let's face it, it's light tan. Nothing special. "As you can see, you've got very spacious rear-seating compartment for 4 full-sized adults." The front seats are practically touching the rear seats, they're so far back. He claims he has additional knee-room, yet his knees are inside the seat cutouts for he knees, and it appears they're touching the seat. And then he says the seat is "almost all the way back". Well, then, when the seat is back completely, an adult can't sit back there. He boasts the electrically-assisted buttons in the trunk to fold the rear seats flat, but then he has to walk up to the rear seats and unzip a seal. Why did I need the electric-assist if I had to reach into the car by the rear seats anyway? Am I being too nit-picky?

This will sell like crazy. Can't deny when I saw the name Pacifica, I was hoping for a proper Pacifica successor.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Faces A Conundrum With the Escalade
Paolino replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
I'm sorry, I don't understand why we can't just leave it be? It is the only Cadillac to have a "name" still, it has very positive recognition, they're making money with it, it's not an eyesore (no one is ashamed it exists), so why just not leave it alone? It's beautifully equipped, has a beautiful interior, shares brand styling cues, and people want it in the US... what's wrong? Make the rest of the brand what you want and leave this for fun. As long as it's not losing money, I don't see why it has to go. -
I have grown to love Volvo's styling, partly because I'm one of the bland-liking guys... I like conservative styling. I think it's beautiful. I love the interior, particularly the wood.

I am not 100% sold on the exterior. The interior and features offered are beautiful. It'll sell well, I think. Not a fan of the steering wheel... think it looks cheap. I would have liked to have seen either a little more chrome or a little wood on it.

It's been flawless for the 2.5 years I've had the car, and then all of a sudden, one day, instant problems. All other voice commands work fine. I even tried treating it like a Windows product... I pulled over, shut all my windows, and shut off/restarted the car.
-
I have a 2013 Buick LaCrosse. I've used both iPhones and Android phones paired to my car, no problem. I always "voice dial" which ridiculously requires me to turn the radio on before it accepts commands, but in the past several months, I'd say 50+% of the time, I get the "Dialing failed" comment. Let me break it down. Previously what would happen: 1) Press voice command button and hear, "Please say your command." 2) I say, "Call Melinda on cell." 3) "Dialing".... and call goes through. Now, more than half the time: 1) Press voice command button and hear, "Please say your command." 2) I say, "Call Melinda on cell." 3) *long pause* 4) "Dialing failed." 5) I hit the button again and hear, "Please say your command." 6) "Call Melinda on cell." 7) "Dialing"... and call goes through. This seems to have started around the time my Galaxy S6 updated to Lollipop version 5.1.1. I can't understand why it fails the first time, but the same command will have success the second time. And it happens at random, and doesn't matter who I call. I googled the problem, but people didn't have the same problem I had. Any suggestions on how to rectify this? I know my phone will get an update to Android Marshmallow (6.0) in probably late December/early January, and I'm hoping this goes away.

Hyundai News:Hyundai To Redesign Current Sonata Due To Poor Sales Start
Paolino replied to William Maley's topic in Hyundai
Has anyone heard any other news regarding this? I almost half expected to see the refresh early, for the 2016 year, but since it's going to be 17-18, perhaps we'll see something soon for the 2017 MY. -
Well, one thing I wish my V6 had was good power at a lower RPM... my peak horsepower is at 6800 rpms, and I just don't floor it often. El Kabong you have a point.. I am a cylinder snob... You can't make a 4-cylinder engine sound smooth in my opinion. It can be refined, for a four-cylinder engine... but not the same quality of a V6 or V8.
-
With the switch to much smaller turbocharged engines, how many here are displacement snobs? I admit, I am a bit of one. I rather drive a DI 3.6L V6 than a turbo 4, even if the 4 had slightly better fuel economy and equal power.

Agree, GM needs to step up their game with a superior sound system across the board for all auto lines. I just don't understand how they can call their 7 speakers "premium" when they are outpowered by a set of 6 speakers in a 2006 Sonata...
-
One thing I'm concerned about: Unless I'm mistaken, the ONLY audio systems available have Buick's 7-speaker "premium" speakers. I have those. They're in my LaCrosse. They're definitely nothing to write home about. And that's with an extremely quiet car and the windows up. How are you going to pump the tunes with the top down? It'll sound like crap.

Unpairing cellphone to Bluetooth in GMC Acadia without Nav screen
Paolino replied to Paolino's topic in The Lounge
Thanks! -
My friends have a 2011/2012 Acadia without a Nav screen (they have what I think is called the black tie radio or something like that). They want to unpair a cell phone because apparently they have filled up the number of phones you can have paired. Is there a command they can speak to do this or something they can access via the radio's menu? They lost the owner's manual and online I seem to only find the newer ones with intellilink.

I'm against Ford/Lincoln's new 80's retro video game chimes. They sound ridiculous. You get a car like a BMW, or even a Hyundai, and they have like orchestrated startups.
