Mine hates water. With a passion. He has never went near the tub or the shower stall.

Mostly salt but once in the while you may see sand and you see more sand in the northern part of the state.

Merry Christmas everybody. Just got done snowblowing the 3 inches of new snow we got today. Definatly enough snow for Santa to do this deliveries for the kids.

I will have the next 5 days off go back for 2 then have 5 more off so a nice streach. Only questionable thing is that our owners sold us down the river and we learned this yesterday. But the new owners did talk to us and they are being forthcoming in their plans for our facility. They stressed quite a few times that they are not there to dismantle it or destroy it. We went through that once before in 200-2003. I do not wish to relive those days!!!!!.

I have had some experiences with my Dad. He talks to me once in the while in my sleep. I have had different things happen more in the old house.

What simple pleasures do you enjoy?
2005 EquinoxLS replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in The Lounge
Sitting at the computer and replying to the forums as I see fit. Eating junk food( Likely thats why I look the way I do but thats another topic). Playing with different recipes when I am cooking. Playing with my cat. -
Otep is cool. So is Death and I am really into the new Slipknot and Nine Inch Nails album.

Or a 1981 Bonneville or a 1985 Caprice.

Nothing much has really changed here in Northeast Wisconsin other than my salesman at Gustman Chevrolet/Pontiac telling me it has been slow. As far as I know VanDynHoven here does still sell Buicks along with Chrysler and Jeep. Van Leishout downtown still sells Dodge and when Plymouth was around they sold those.

Actually the old B-bodys are front heavy too. I thought I saw a figure of 67% of the weight is on the front and 33% on the back. Again much as I love my 2 old B-bodies I wouldnt want to drive them on snow when the Impala to me is far superior in staying steady. Found that out last week when I was driving on about 6 inches of snow and more falling. The Impala didnt flinch.

QUOTE (Dodgefan @ Dec 14 2008, 11:51 AM) Breakfast is usually lunch, however this week I did actually make breakfast for 2. 5 large eggs1 cup or so (I usually eyeball it) Heavy Cream (this makes the eggs extra rich and fluffy)2 tsp Salt (I usually eyeball it)1 tbs Pepper (I usually eyeball it)1 tbs butter2-3 slices of cheese of your choice (I only had American this time)8 breakfast sausage linksand/pr 6 slices of bacon Combine eggs, cream, salt, and pepper into large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly. Lightly grease pan with butter and turn heat on to medium. Pour egg mixture into pan, add remaining butter. Quickly, place sausage in microwave or pan cook it if desired. While sausage cooks, stir egg mixture constantly, this is important to do as it cooks to prevent sticking/burning. If you have bacon you can microwave it, or if you have one of those George Foreman grills (we do) turn it on and use it, cooks for about 2 minutes. I swear those grills were made for cooking bacon...the best bacon I've ever had came from using that grill. Crispy yet juicy...yum. Anyway... Continue to stir egg mixture, as it cooks and becomes solid flip the egg mixture with whatever you are using to stir it. Cook it just until most of the liquid/juices are gone. Reduce heat to very low. Break up and mix in cheese until melted. Place food on 2 plates and serve. Nothing complex but very good IMHO. -- ocn I think I'll have to try your recipe sometime, sounds tasty. The George Forman does do a great job with bacon plus it doesnt spatter all over the place like on a griddle. For me its eggs sunny side up and bacon and/or sausage links. And not just any bacon or sausage links. We have a really good local meat market that makes some of the best breakfast links and patties and bacon one can ever hope for.

Thank you all once again!!

Thanks. The cold doesnt bother me as much as heat does. I can dress for cold. Though snowblowing gets cold in certain cases. I always tell people that cold is good for you. It toughens you up.

What about 4th? The Bonneville did this when I first got it and that turned out to be the valve body. Remember these don t have the very best transmissions. Both of mine are rebuilt. Make sure the TV cable didnt somehow get out of adjustment. That can screw things up.

Thanks. It was a day just like any other day. Though getting a new Impala was a nice birthday and Christmas present. Poor car has endured 3 snow events since I got it last Friday. I think thnough I will just keep my 2005 Equinox name. I hold it dear in my heart since it is the last vehicle aquisition that Dad was a part of. Felt a little funny to get a vehicle this time and not have him around. I seem though to have the sixth sense to know when to pull the trigger and seem to be able to be in the right place at the right time as far as car purchasing. I have NEVER planned a car purchase. They came to me.

The B-body lover. I have had 4 of them and still have 2 of the 4. But also having the guts to say the B-bodies arent perfect.

No troubles so far with the Impala. Tonight I passed a Ford Explorer that made its way in the ditch. They were down far too. I actually like the Impala in snow better than I did the Equinox. Seems like the tire choice was a better one than what they picked for the Equinox. The 2 old cars have not seen a flake of snow unlike last year when an emergency made the need to use the Bonneville twice and I was forced to drive the Caprice once. The Bonneville is pretty good. I wouldnt fear driving it in a snowstorm if I needed to. The Caprice on the other hand is scary as all heck. The slightest touch of the gas sends the rear end in one direction or the other. But I am still a FWD person like most people here are when it comes to driving in the winter.

Nobody better try to force me to part with my 2. I dont really drive them that much other than summer. They arent hurting anything. I think it is partially an incentive to buy a new GM car. I already did that so they should be happy.

I have 2 fiber optics ones. Good enough for me. The lighting is way more reliable than the normal christmas lights though where there is call for it I am turning to LED lights. They seem more reliable since LEDs rarely burn out. Helps diaagnostics when the set goes.

My new Impala is all dirty like that from what we have gotten so far this year. And its only going to get worse. They are saying 6-9 inches for Tuesday.

What is your next car purchase? revisited...
2005 EquinoxLS replied to intrigued's topic in The Lounge
I liked it when I test drove it and I did so in a snowstorm. My Mom and Dad had a 2002 before they and I got our Equinoxes. And they like theirs. Like I said I took advantage of the bad economy and got a really good deal on it. -
I try my hardest. The 1st owner, Dad and me all took and I now take great pride in it. I think since we got it in 1990 it has seen snow 4 times. After each time it was washed. The Bonneville has a similar story.
-
It would depend if it had the 3 speed auto or the 4 speed. I think you could get either or in those days with the V6. V8's like my 1985 were strictly 4 speed and mine gets about 23 highway. The Bonneville slightly better, about 24. These cars are not as much of guzzlers as some would like to think. I can atest to that.

I would love to have a lady that likes American cars as much as you. You feel the same way about the Oldsmobile that I do about the Bonneville and Caprice. I am pretty excited. I am giving the Equinox back (Its a lease vehicle thats due in March) and taking delivery of a leftover 2008 Impala. They are so desperete for sales that I was able to give the Equinox back 3 months early and get a great deal on the Impala. The Impala is the winter and everyday car. The other two are used only when the roads are decent. Right now thats not the case.
