You have my prayers. I just went through this with my Dad in June. You dont wish for recovery but for them to not suffer and to go and meet God as soon as is feasable. It sounds wierd until you are in this position. Then it makes perfect sense.

Spark plugs can be reached with bare hands? I dont think I can see the plugs on the Bonneville much less touch them. The Caprice is almost as bad.

Its about -1 with 40 mph winds. It was I think the worst drive home I have ever had. I couldnt see most of the time. There was black ice under everything. VERY shiny. We have about 5-6 inches of snow. The Equinox handled it very well.

We have a 55 year old GE that is still working after surviving the move. Our 2 year old one needed a new circuit board.

Much like Cort but take a few degrees off that. We are forcast for 40-50 mile an hour winds tommorrow night and about -10F. After we get about 4-7 inches of snow. The Equinox will get tried once again. Moms Aveo too. Right now it is 40F.

Where should I start? People think the Bonneville has a big block. It really has an Olds 307. Then people dont believe me until I show it to them.

Sixty-eight. I have learned through the years with the 4 B-bodies is not to be too cheap when it comes to buying parts for them.

Could put a Duramax in one or both of the old cars.

This is going to sound weird but since my dad died in June he has talked to most of my family and also myself in our sleep. He died in the old house which is now destroyed. I think that was meant to be since he wouldnt have wanted to die in the new one and know that my Mom would be haunted with his presense. Dont know.

GM will make whatever product is going to sell the best. Thats just buisness. Hopefully they can get the right mix of AWD,FWD,and RWD vehicles to please most people. Most people attrubute RWD with poor snow handling. That can and cant be true. The 2 RWDs I have prove this. One is real good and the other slides around with the slightest provocation. Since most of the country gets snow at one time or another it is reasonable that they will want to make more FWD and AWD vehicles. If they can prove that RWD works in snow then they will make them. Hopefully people understand what I am saying.

I think I may look for a 1983 Corvette someday.

Give me a later C3 any day. Or a C6.

People say that about Indiana but I kind of like it. My Bonneville almost got hit by lightning in Indiana. About 50 miles north of Indianapolis.

Good luck with the Torrent. I have had pretty good luck with the Equinox. Mine had a few steering part issues but remember this is a first year vehicle. I know they fixed that by 2006. I get about 17 mpg in normal driving. I think the new ones are better. I love the room and driving parts. If I had a complaint about the tires its that they could grip better in snow.

And take it from expierience. You dont really know how important those dad moments are until they arent around. Found that out June 7th when my Dad passed away after a 2 week illness.

I wont give up what I have except when it comes time to give the Equinox back. Dont know what I will get next time. Maybe I will get an Aveo. Trying to keep the old cars rust free means not driving them in the winter salt. The Bonneville will work though in a pinch. Found out yesterday though that I do NOT want to run the Caprice in snow. I had it sitting outside so I could get the insulating and drywalling done. Unfortunatly it snowed so the Caprice was full of snow. Got the bright idea to drive it and get the snow off of it. You would think it would work pretty well the way the Bonneville does but I was WAY wrong!! The Caprice slides all over the place in snow. The tires are brand new.

Should do that on the B-bodies. I saw the cable version once.

BlackViper you have been kind of aching to get rid of this thing for some time. Why not try to negotiate and get rid of it? I have gotten offers for the Bonneville too but my answer is always no. Dad got offers for the Caprice but his answer was always the same one mine is. NO.

I thought you couldnt play video games on a plasma screen. Do plasmas have pixles? I thought that was LCD ones that had this problem though so far my 32" Vizio has been good.

Might just get by with the 1981 and 1985 until fall of 2009 then see about something new for winter.
