  1. I keep them clean. Most are inhereted from Dad and Dad was fussy about them. As much as he used them and a lot of them are 40 years old or more they look VERY nice. I will keep them that way.
  2. Gee. My sisters 1995 Cavalier has 200,000 on it. Does that mean we lack intelligence? After seeing what sheetmetal on a Civic is made of No way!! I too am able to drive without ABS. Never rear ended a car with any of the old cars I have had. ABS does make it EASIER to make a panic stop if the surface is slippery but it can be done without it if you know what you are doing.
  3. Ok. I am kind of the same way. There are a lot of good cars from a lot of years. I actually like the ones I mentioned earlier because to me they are easier to live with then say a 1970. Even though the engines of the late 70's werent as good as say a 1970. Though I probably would take a 1970 Bel-Air on brown to remember my childhood with.
  4. So what is exciting? BlackViper?
  5. Jeez where to start. Dont see too many B-bodies in the shape my 2 are in. Not bragging just saying the truth. And also Monte Carlos from the start to the 1988 end of the RWD ones. Though the 1995-99 are starting to get rare. The 1970-1981 Camaro.
  6. Those are some cool cars Cort. Dad used to talk about his and ma's 1963 all the time. That one had a 327 V8.
  7. Where to start? 1978. Get a new Impala or Caprice but get them with a 350 not the 305. Get a 1978 Monte Carlo with the 305. Both in the maroon color. Maybe a 1978 Camaro Z-28 in black. Then maybe go to 1990 and get one of the last Caprices before they redesigned it for 1991.
  8. Looking forward to getting the 1981 and 1985 out more. I know I will have to get the A/C fixed in both. The 1981 Bonneville should fall under warranty though if its like the last 3 years. So it wont cost me anything. Dont know what the 1985 will need. But I want it to work. Dont like to roast in my own car especially on a road trip. After that on the 1981 get the leaks fixed so water doesnt leak in the trunk through the seams that run from the back window to the trunk. I cuacked the areas but it doesnt look too good. Maybe try to improve the sound system in the 1985. All origional. also got to fix the fan switch in the 1985. It doesnt work on high. I know its the switch because VERY occassionally I can get it to work in high.
  9. Malibu. Call me a sissy if you wish. I dont want to deal with a RWD car in winter. Did that for a awhile when I had no choice. But I wouldnt do it now. Plus I like the Malibu better of the two. Though give me the choice of any and I would take an Impala.
  10. Corn dogs are very popular here in Northeast Wisconsin. And also the mini corn dogs.
  11. Does somebody know this kid?
  12. Next year at this time I will be since the Equinox lease will be up by then. Choices and so many of them just from Chevrolet make me have to think. I like Moms Aveo well enough but still prefer something larger. I like my Equinox very much but I am looking for better fuel economy next time. Maybe a closer look at the Malibu. Only problem was that I didnt really fit in the ones at the auto show or the dealer the way that I like. The Impala fits me like a comfortable pair of shoes. May look at one of them unless they change it to RWD. Dont want that for winter but thats another story. Maybe the HHR might be a wildcard pick. Liked the one I drove well enough though the windows are kind of small. It all hinges on whar kind of lease deal or purchasing deal I can get. However I can get the most for the least. I dont really want to keep what I get for more than 5 years tops. If I want to to keep a car forever I already have 2 of them to do that with.
  13. What does the Mazda actually do that is should I say defective? Does it not start some of the time? I dont quite get it. Oh the Bonneville through no fault :AH-HA_wink: of my own was able to hit over 100 mph in southern Indiana when we were coming back from Tennessee with it.
  14. 10 times uhhhhhh. I suspect that the root of the Cutlass based on my Bonneville is the carburetor. Get rid if it and get one that works and it wouldnt suck ass. So hopefully you didnt waste your money on a distributer only to find it was something else. That wouldnt be cool.
  15. Nice looking. Just like the Bonneville. Though my Bonneville has the Olds 307 not the Chevrolet 305. Had to look for a few seconds but sure enough it was indeed a 305 not a 307. The paint on that one is in better shape than my Bonneville. Interior is about a wash though the video isnt highly detailed. Sometimes I have thought about selling the Bonneville now that the Caprice is mine but I think I would be sorry the second I did. The kid must not run it very often to have it not start when he tried it the first time. I start the 2 old ones every two weeks and let them run for 20 minutes. And the Caprice has a battery cut off which I use. I give the kid credit though. It is very nice.
  16. Does the Mazda run yet?
  17. I had a Vibe while the Equinox was in for something. Nice enough vehicle. A little wierd. I think though my moms Aveo has more engine than this Vibe did. And that isnt saying much. That alone made me not want one. Plus this engine buzzed and droned worse as bad as some of GMs earlier 4-cylinders. I though Toyota 4-cylinders were supposed to be the quietest and smoothest 4-cylinders that exist? Wouldnt know it by this one. The Ecotec in the HHR I tested was much quieter and much more powerful.
  18. You have a good wife.
  19. They sold the Corsica as the Pontiac Tempest in Canada. I never much liked the Corsica. The few I sat in I never could get comfortable. That was also one of those cars where if I wasnt careful getting in I would bang my head getting in. I actually liked the 1982-94 Cavalier better than this for that very reason.
  20. Moms Aveo gets the mileage stated on the sticker. Though she told me it seems to be a little better. And she tested the safety of it when she misjudged a lane change. Thr right front corner is a little damaged but she wasnt hurt at all. Easily fixable and it will be good once the dealer gets done fixing it. Being that it gets a little better than sticker means that it gets about 2 miles to the gallon better in town than the Cobalt did that I had for a loaner when the Equinox was in for its new steering column.
  21. I wonder how the 4-cylinder will work with the 6-speed automatic? That would be interesting to try. It would certainly one up quite a few competetors.

If the Cutlass is the same as the 1981 Bonneville which it well should be it can at least hit 100 miles an hour. Not that I would have tried it or anything. If my heavier Bonneville can do it the Cutlass sure should.
  23. We will all have to drive FWD 4-cylinder cars. Or maybe even 3 cylinder ones. Or mopeds.
  24. Nope. Only like women. Single women to be more exact. I am as straight as straight can be.
