I suppose I have to download to a site to show off the 2 cars. Right?

Only defects are that I have a little cauking in the body seam on each side going from the back window to the trunk. It leaks in the trunk a little in these spots. I shall do a better job with it when time permits. And the headliner is starting to come down though it is only a few small places. And it isnt coming down fast. Next Year that will hopefully be taken care of. The paint isnt real great but it is presentable enough that I will follow everybodys advice to leave it alone since other than the rear quarters it is origional. EVERYTHING works including as you can see by the condensation by the right front door the A/C The Vinyl top is perfect with NO bubbling underneath whatsoever. Even the door gaskets are in real good shape.

I had a 1981 2-door Caprice from 1993-1995. It wasnt nearly this nice though.

Open the Attachment 68 and you will see the left front of the 1981 Bonneville.

Damn straight. I think Dad would have traded the 1985 for a 1990 if one would have became available. But it never did. No matter. I love the 1985 to death. And the 1981.

Restaurants that suck/Restaurants that excel!

Culvers is a favorite. Excellent double cheeseburgers and sides and of course the custard. It you want charcoal flaver Cinderz is the place for a burger or steak grilled right over charcoal. There are too many good loacl pizza places here to mess with Pizza Hut or Dominos or Papa Johns. Little Luigis right here in Kaukauna and Butchs Pizza in Kimberly have the best pizza in the area. Little Luigis also has better Italian than the Olive Garden could ever dream of. So does Victorias in Appleton. I rarely bother with McDonalds or Burger King or Hardees other than the Hot Ham and Cheese. Too many good local places here. Bar and Grills are a common thing here and many beat the restaraunts (especially chain ones) for quality. -

Those old Cub Cadets are made to last forever. There are a couple of these here in Wisconsin that I see people using for lawn tractors to this day. I look at the lawn equiptment made today and I usually dont say this because I dont about cars but it seems lawn equiptment was made better 20-30 years ago. Like I said my uncles 1986 John Deere to me is better than my 2007 Craftsman. Wouldnt part with my 20 year old Lawn Boy either especially since the EPA has stuck their nose in that too and thus Lawn-Boy no longer makes a 2-cycle engine. Stupid EPA. Got a late 50's Jacobson with a 2-cycle engie that runs like brand new. That thing will mow about anything. Again good luck with the Cub Cadet. -
Saw one of those too a little while back. There are actually more box B-bodies (1977-1990) than the later ones here. People didnt seem to like the 1991-1996 very much including my dad.
-
I kind of figured. I like the 1993 because they fixed the wheelwells but kept the 1991-1992 dash which I liked better than the 1994-1996 dash. If I did try to ever get one I would try to get a 350. Most though I think had the 305 just like the 1985 but with fuel injection. Still like FWD or AWD though for winter.

Cool to have a riding tractor isnt it? Love mine though the 1986 John Deere my Grandma had and my uncle now has was built better. Mine though is 17.5 horses. I know it can raise the front wheels if you let the clutch out too quickly in 3rd. Cool old tractor Sylvester. Hope you have a lot of fun with it. -
So there is quite a difference in power between the "old" 350 and the later LT1 350s used in the 1994-96 cars?
-
Ok. I just wonder about the weirdest stuff sometimes. Cool car though. I actually thought Buick did a little better with their version of this generation than Chevrolet did. Though I almost did get a 1993 Caprice. Maybe I should have.

What are the spotlights for? Here they bust you for having those on a car if it isnt a police car. Hard to believe the Bonneville celebrated its 28th birthday this month. At least the door sticker says September of '80. The 1985 is in December. December of 1984 for that one.
-
Considering mine arent as aerodynamic as your Roadmaster and dont have the benefit of fuel injection I would say I do well. I use mid grade fuel in them or the Bonnevilles 307 pings EVER so slightly. Transmissions in both though are from what mechanics tell me, especially the Bonneville pretty lightweight. Mine are both rebuilt though if that has anything to do with it. A/C use doesnt really affect either one.

All I am going to say is that we need to change something. 8 years of this crap is long enough. I would very much like to keep my job and a bad economy isnt going to help that goal. Enough of the rich getting everything. About time the working person got rewarded for our efferts to keep this country going.
-
Both my B-bodies get about 14-16 in town and 23-24 highway. The Bonneville got 26 once but that was once. All the suns must have aligned that day.
-
He just did it so that he could get some of the women voters. It is just part of the game he is playing. We all know he wouldnt stand a chance any other way. 8 years of this crap is long enough.

Got to check my 3 again. Last time I did the Equinox get 17.4,the Caprice according to dad got about 15 and the Bonneville around 16.

Sounds like you had a nice birthday Knightfan. Always nice to get the cars out for a run. I use the 2 of mine off and on for daily driving when the weather is nice. Pretty soon though it will be time for their fall oil changes and the little that I do to get them ready for winter. At least they are both home in my garage this year instead of being in storage units. qMy birthday is in December so getting my 2 out then may not be an option. Oh well, I can at least spend time with them. Both could stand a little of that.

Windows ME was a horrible horrible thing on the computer we bought with it. Seemed as though no matter what you did with it the computer would crash. Best thing I ever did was wipe the harddrive clean and put XP in it. I dont have a problem with Vista on my Acer desktop or Moms Toshiba Laptop. My Desktop is the 64 bit version and has 4 gigs of ram. The laptop is 32 bits with 2 gigs of ram and both work fine.
-
knightfan did you get your brown 1979 Monte Carlo yet? I havent heard anything about that.

The whole steering column is a Chevrolet steering column including the steering wheel. They had use Chevrolet steering columns for years from what I have read.

Only thing too about the V6 in these is that they dont have a very long shelf life. Maybe 70,000-90,000 miles under normal use. Plus they are noted for leaking oil.
