  1. There's a junkyard right next to where I work. I've seen so many cars meet the crusher. I hate seeing so many Oldsmobiles and GM fullsizers in there. This week I spied a 2006 G6 sedan in crimson through the fence sitting there awaiting its fate, as well as a not so nice condition 80s Monte Carlo SS.
  2. Wow, that sucks. Glad to hear you were not in it to be injured. It must suck to watch your own car get smashed though.
  3. Too true. Sometimes I think people are just looking for a "fight"Funny thing though, I read the headline to this post last week, but just saw the ad last night (I don't watch much tv). My first thought when I saw the fairy was "this must be the "offensive" ad". Honestly, if it wasn't for reading thie headline for this topic, I never would have thought anything of it. I was with my g/f, my sister and her b/f and I mentioned this thread. They were all confused about what the big deal was. When we saw it run again, they could see where the offense could come from, but at a stretch. Anyway, I hope they don't change it like the Concorde commercial from a few years ago.
  4. I have to share my excitement. I'm going to Punta Cana next month. This will be my first time going out of the country (other than Canada), and my first time flying since I went to Disney World in '95. This will also be my first all-inclusive vacation. I hope I gain ten pounds So, where are you guys going?
  5. Wow, most of my thoughts are shared with you guys. The Lucerne will probably be my next car, so I hope they are listening: *Full Blue interior *HUD *foglamps standard or available for all models plus: *fold down back seat. I'll NEVER buy another car without it now that I have my Impala, didn't know what I was missing with the Cutlass. I also find it dissapointing that the Lucerne has larger exterior dimensions than the Impala, yet has a smaller trunk. I love big cars, but that size should translate into usable space. *also, I see I am in the minority in this one, but keep the 3800 until it can be replaced with something with as good/better fuel economy. The 3.6 doesn't cut it. I'm all about mpg with gas closing in on $3/gallon. *a coupe or wagon would be a welcome addition. I know they are opposites, but I'd buy either one if offered, though the coupe would be my preference.
  6. I need more pice before I make a final decision, but so far I'm not impressed. The sides look way too dumbed down. The Ford Fusion and Mazda 6 have much more side sculpting than this. I also don't like the wider chrome bar on the grille. It looks way too thick now, I thought it was perfect before. The front bumper does look better now though. Hope they kept the jeweled tail lights in the back.
  7. 2006 Impala was the first thing that came to my mind
  8. Ugh, that grille is hideous. Don't they know how to make an appealing looking sporty coupe anymore? Still further limiting thier market by sticking with the 2+2 config...
  9. English... Some of the picture icons can be confusing (although some can be quite amusing too), and I hate the idea of catering to non-english speaking individuals in America... and worse the illiterate.
  10. The rims seem like a waste on a cop car, especially bieng chrome. BTW: has anybody seen an interior pic of the Charger police package yet? I'm really curious to see what it looks like without the console.
  11. Rock on! I never did like Day. They were still putting "Heartbeat of America" decals on thier new Chevys until 2003 (and charging $150 to do it).BTW: don't know if you sent the letter yet, but Day is still technically in Monroeville. Sorry
  12. I'm starting to see more G6's around Pittsburgh, but still nothing like the Grand Am was. Ever since I was in High School, GAs were the car most young people I knew had or wanted. The G6 seems to mostly have older/middle aged drivers. Maybe because it is bland and semi-dopey looking, and has none of the sportiness or agressiveness of the Grand Am. Also, the coupes are very rare sights, unlike the Grand Am which seemed to be running closer to 40 coupes/60 sedans from personal observation. The name may be partially to blame since the GA had alot of positive recognition in these parts, but the Cobalt hasn't suffered by not bieng called Cavalier anymore.

    Good-bye

Best of luck to you... your posts will be missed
  14. another vote for whitewalls. The chrome rims are sweet, but I like your stock ones too. A car like that needs whitewalls
  15. Glad to see someone missed me:) Still bummed about the DSL, seems everyone I know around me has it. I've been busy enough with things that I haven't missed the internet too much so far though. having my own place, sure is alot of work.
  16. Which one? I noticed Cochran in Monroeville had a silver one with a black top on thier display by the road a few weeks ago, which really dissapointed me. Thankfully it is the only one I've seen so far. Although, Massie Toyota had an Avalon with a cloth top in thier showroom at about the same time. I was going to stop and snap a pic on my way home from work one day, but by the time I remembered a camera it was gone. I'm an old-school luxury kind of guy, but I never did like cloth tops..

    Update

I know my activity on this site has diminished in the past six months, so you may not have even known I dissapeared (or cared). Looks like I missed alot while I was away. Just wanted to check in and say hi, and that I'm doing ok. I moved into my new house at the beginning of February. Still getting things organized, and I don't have a computer yet, so I only get to go online once a week or so, mostly only to check my emails. Hopefully I will be getting a computer of my own very soon and be able to be here alot more. I checked into getting DSL already, and they tell me it's not available in my neighborhood . The Impala and Alero have been great (The Cutlass is gone, for those that missed it ...and I miss it ) BTW: the new smilies rock
  18. Cadillac Eldorado
  19. The fact that Motor Trend always crapped on the cars I liked, or ignored them completely is why I cancelled my subscription. Been about five years, and they still send me offers to renew. Sounds like they haven't changed any in that time.
  20. Pretty neat. I am now mapped.
  21. Actually urban Cali is where I don't want to be. Anywhere near L.A., San Fran or along a fault line. I think the mountians and small towns would probably be pretty good. Especially if I could find a nice bungalow neighborhood. Alaska would be my overall dead last. I hate the cold and absolutely couldn't stand the dark months. North or South Carolina (perhaps Georgia), far enough away from the coast to avoid hurricaines, but close enough to take a long weekend at the beach is where I want to be. Something like the HGTV dream home in NC would be ideal B) Oh... and for all you that don't like touching money, you can just send it to me and I'll keep it "safe"
  22. Thank you for reminding my why California is the last state I'd ever move to
  23. Wow, that is a rare one. '92 Internationals used those wheels, 93 switched over to the five-spokes. Color must be Quasar Blue, but it acually looks like Med. Cloisonne (my favorite W-Body Cutlass color, '95 exclusive) in the pic.
  24. Finally somebody that realizes the six-passenger seating is an advantage over the competition. You may not want it, but it's there if you do. Can't say that about Lexus, MB, Infiniti or anybody else.
