  1. It will be interesting to see how much the upcoming model name changes will affect Infiniti sales.
  2. The new Mazda6 can't ramp up fast enough. It is a very sharp looking car and should do well, I would think. When are they launching the diesel?
  3. I wonder how much of the three series decline is due to the launch of the ATS?
  4. When was the last time Hyundai's sales were almost flat? Is their meteoric rise starting to level off?
  5. C-Max, Fusion and Escape sales numbers look pretty impressive. I sat in the C-Max at the auto show and it seemed like a nice compact people hauler. I haven't driven one yet but it sounds like they are actually relatively entertaining to drive as well. Mustang and MKZ sales, not so much. Ford really needs to get their launch issues with the MKZ fixed ASAP!
  6. It never ceases to amaze me how many Crapolla's Toyota manages to sell. With so many other excellent choices on the market, somehow this mediocre appliance manages to have the sales lead in the compact segment.
  7. Didn't I read somewhere that Honda is going to refresh the ZDX? Hard to believe it would be worth the effort for < 500 per year. Do they sell it in any markets other than U.S. & Canada? I'm assuming the RL was discontinued.
  8. Wow, the Equinox almost outsold the CR-V on it's own. Add in Terrain volumes and combined they hit almost 26,000! That's pretty amazing considering CR-V and RAV4 combined sold 30,000. Chevy Sonic = 7177, Fit + Yaris = 6053. Fiesta = 4285. Looks like the Sonic is kicking butt. My Dad had one as a loaner while his van was in getting fixed from a minor accident. Both he and my Mom were surprised by how much they liked it. They both thought it was a great little car. The downside? Cruze has fallen to fourth place in the compact market. How Toyota can managed to sell almost 24,000 Crapolla's per month never ceases to amaze me! It is easily the least likable compact in my mind.
  9. I got to see the car in person today and I can say it looks MUCH better in person than in pictures. I actually liked it quite a bit. The rear 1/4 windows don't bother me at all. The rear panel is actually painted a gloss black (or dark gray, couldn't get super close) so it isn't a cheap looking mold in color piece like I thought it might be. Plus, if it really gets negative feedback, it would be easy enough for them to paint it body color. I do think it looks better in gray than red. That was only two colors they had and the red one was actually hanging up on the side of the display so the gray one was the only one you could get a good look at.

  11. After looking at the pics in the gallery again, I think it is a really nice looking car overall but I am still really unsure about the rear end. The tailights, the vents, the spoiler, the black lower fascia... there is a LOT going on back there. Very busy. That troubles me much more than the 1/4 windows. I agree with you Camino that while an odd choice (especially for a car with no back seat), I do think they aid the the flow of the design. Again, I'll reserve full judgement until I see it in person. Overall I give it a big thumbs up, though.
  12. I'm not sure. I think I'll reserve judgement on a few of the details until I see it up close in person. The window itself is very small as the B-pillar takes up a good portion of it. I want to see what it see what it looks like under the lights at NAIAS. Overall, I like it much more than I thought I would based on the few sketches that leaked out from service bulletins and whatnot.
  13. I noticed in the article that it mentioned an R/T model is still coming but does that make sense? How will it be differentiated from the GT? A higher trim level? A de-tuned SRT turbo 4? I guess that is what I'm not clear about. If the GT has the 2.4L Tigershark and a SRT variant would presumably have a high HP turbo, where does the R/T slot in?
  14. Well, after my niece and I added to Chrysler's numbers last month by each picking up Dodge Chargers, my sister did her part for GM's November sales by picking up a Camaro last Friday. I don't have all the info yet but I do know it is a silver V6. I'm sure she will enjoy it. She has been wanting one since they introduced the Synergy Green cars. In fact, I'm surprised she picked silver. The Captiva Sport is fleet only, right? I'm amazed at how many of those GM is selling. I see them around quite a bit. What the heck is going on with the Lambda's? Launch issues or just a slow ramp up? Go Verano! Wouldn't mind getting an ATS 2.0T or Verano turbo for the wife next year.
  15. I thought about one instead of my Charger. There were a few things that kept me from getting one. I imagine a big one for most people was lack of an auto trans with the 1.4T. That was not a problem for me because I prefer a manual trans. Chrysler has been filling the pipeline with them but probably slowly? The big thing for me was that it is a first year, all new model which makes me nervous with ANY manufacturer, plus the R/T is not out yet. Had I waited until next summer, I probably would have gotten a Dart R/T. I think it will come around but don't expect it to sell in Cruze, Focus or Crapolla numbers.
  16. why? station wagons are so uggg. I would rather have the same space in a CUV and sit up higher with a better line of sight. I think this falls into the "different strokes for different folks" category. I would much rather have a sport wagon than a CUV. I like the handling characteristics of the wagon better and could care less about sitting up high. BTW - where are GM, Ford and Chrysler with the passenger car diesels? I guess they are still convinced Americans won't buy them even though it is a pretty damn high take rate on VW/Audi. Let's hope the diesel Cruze sells well enough to change their minds.
  17. What the heck is going on with Mazda6 sales? People holding out for the new (and very nice looking IMHO) 2014 model?
  18. I've always liked the Swedish cars (as evidenced by the fact that I have owned 3 Saab's in the past). I've always thought Volvo's and Saab's were great cars but just priced too high for the market. Without cheap lease deals they didn't move. I wonder why neither Ford or GM tried to price them a little down market to improve sales? Same thing with Volvo's current Chinese owners. It is really hard for them to compete at the same price point as BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Cadillac.
  19. Thanks, guys! I have wanted a G8/Charger/300/Magnum since the 300 came out in 2005. G8 & Magnum both died a few years ago and that left the 300 and Charger. I liked the 300 but the Charger is more my style! I just wish I could have found one on the lot without the rear spoiler. For some reason I like the looks better without the spoiler. BTW - averaging around 18.5 mpg w/ 80%+ city driving babying it during breaking. Not too bad!
  20. Well, I guess I helped Chrysler's sales for the month of October. I picked up a Charger. My niece and her husband liked it so much that they went out and got one as well. Once my Saab is sold, I will no longer own a GM product. I don't know if there has ever been a time in my driving life that I haven't owned a GM product!
  21. They have build your own pricing up on edmunds.com. I think this is probably my next new car, maybe in the fall. You see these all over the metro Detroit area now (M plates). I think they are nice looking cars and should be more fun to drive than a Cruise. I guess we'll see.
  22. I know a couple of guys with 500's and they both love them! They have both offered to let me drive theirs but i have always politely declined. One of the guys is 6'5" and he says he is very comfortable in it! That's hard to believe. He said the key was he didn't get a sunroof because they eat a quite a bit of head room. It's kind of amusing to see that big a guy get out of that small of a car
  23. I saw one today on my way home from work (one perk of living in metro Detroit is you see pre-prod cars all the time). I have to say I really don't see Neon from any angle. I guess its just me?
  24. I don't see Neon at all. Is the comment more directed at the fact it is a small FWD sedan or are people really seeing a resemblance?
