  1. We all know that... and it has nothing to do with the Accord or Camry being a better or more exciting car.
  2. I don't follow...
  3. I agree with all this. I just hope that once the BLS comes, they won't compare the CTS to the 3-Series and C-Class anymore, but rather the 5-series and E-class (a hackneyed argument, I know, but it's one that holds validity). Of course, some of that is Cadillac's own doing, and it looks like they're working on making it right.
  4. I bet you he wouldn't. :AH-HA_wink:
  5. Before recent days, I had probably seen maybe two or three Pontiac GTOs (the Aussie imports) in my lifetime. Recently, though, I'm seeing them VERY often, like maybe once every other day. Is it just me, or do some of you out there see them more often as well? (aside from those of you who own one )
  6. ... or it's a new option that travelers who don't wish to buy a city map of every locale they may happen to travel to DESIRES. Can't find a restaurant on a map either.
  7. This is the one instance of ANY car where I like the coupe more than the sedan. Honda Accord Coupe gets a B for effort. That front clip negates any pretense of sportiness that it would otherwise have. Every time I see the sedan, though, I think Honda Ion LWB.
  8. You ain't kiddin! This might ruin my day.
  9. Word from GM's Global Rear Wheel Drive Vehicle Line Executive Gene Stefanyshyn "The manual transmission is coming and is...a later introduction. It will be offered on a V8 only and with a special model." Special model meaning a GXP perhaps? Time will tell, but we'll be anxiously waiting. Thank again to Mr. Stefanyshyn for keep us updated on this great Pontiac! Pontiac Announces G8 Pricing New RWD Performance Sedan to Start Under $28k DETROIT - Pontiac today confirmed pricing for its new rear-wheel drive G8 performance sedan will start at $27,595 when it hits the streets in early 2008. The V-8 powered G8 GT will be available for $29,995. “The G8 represents the next phase in Pontiac’s commitment to bring seductively designed, high-performance vehicles to the showroom floor,” said Craig Bierley, Pontiac marketing director. “Our dealers and customers have been anxiously waiting for this vehicle since we first showed it at the Chicago Auto Show in February, so we’re really excited to get this car on the street early next year.” The G8 is powered by a 3.6-liter VVT V-6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission and comes equipped with a number of standard convenience and safety features, including StabiliTrak electronic stability control, six airbags and OnStar. The G8 GT ups the ante with a 6.0-liter V-8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and additional standard equipment. ********************** Pontiac G8 Ordering Guide Click HERE to view Ordering Guide Key Specs Curb Weight - 3885/3995 (base/GT) Cargo Volume - 17.5 cuft Fuel Capacity - 19 gallons Key Standard Features (G8) Dual front, side, full side curtain airbags Single-zone manual A/C Blaupunkt 7-speaker stereo w/5" screen Driver Info Center Cruise control OnStar Folding blade key Remote start Tilt-n-telescoping steering column 4-way power driver/pass seats Dual stainless steel exhaust tips Foglamps Stabilitrak Traction control 3.6l 261hp V6/5spd automatic Key Standard Features (G8 GT) - In addition to/replacing above... 10. I have to ask... Would one of your beloved Opels have fared any better? Or more importantly, the driver?
  11. Insurance rates skyrocket if cars can't protect their occupants from paltry 10-mph crashes... like Chinese cars... not because a car was totaled after falling 100 feet with the driver sustaining minimal injury. You're gonna have to come stronger than that, PCS.
  12. Ok, now they've moved it so that you have to go to the main Pontiac page and click on the G8 link there. It opens a popup window... JavaScript, I think. That's fine, I guess... but like Fly said, it makes the link in the ad useless.
  13. I went as soon as I read this. It's gone again. :angry2:
  14. I'ma need them to put it back!
  15. Urban legend. Snopes
  16. I just had a thought... If they come out with a GXP version, I'd put money on it having the show car wheels.
  17. The page is still very limited, as we all know that the car is going to have more colors than that... who releases a car with just six colors? The manual transmission will be available after launch, from what I understand. Bully for those of you who want the manual really really bad, but for those of us who can't drive a manual it's not a big deal. Looks like they're giving us a little bit at a time... in this case, a VERY little bit.
  18. Don't forget his ubiquitous "Tick tock, tick tock! "
  19. I just missed that Nissan recall by one year.
  20. Pontiac G8 Still doesn't list pricing, but it shows some of the option packages and colors. I didn't know this before, didn't know if anyone else had said it, but it appears the base model gets the regular red taillights, while the GT gets the clear ones that so many of us either love or hate. I'm waiting on the pricing already... Road & Track's 2008 preview said that the car would start at around $35k, which contradicts everything I've heard.
  21. I agree, no question as to how safe it is now. A 100' fall-and-roll, the car's smashed, but he's ok? Now I REALLY can't wait for their arrival.
  22. A couple of clarifications needed, as far as anyone knows: Impala? STS/DTS replacement and... good lookin out, Griff. I forgot about the Lucerne. This board acts up... I contend that I was the first to reply to this, but I got a 500 Error.
  23. The bad thing about showing that video on this site is that both trucks are by the Ford.
  24. So, let's see... We got the Prius and Camry/ES350 accelerating unintentionally, and Tundra that can't emergency-brake in an emergency. These are supposedly volume vehicles, but yet each could present a catastrophe if this issue keeps popping up. Although I don't wish this on anybody, one crash will be all it takes for a media circus... at least, I would hope. There's enough documentation to show that it wouldn't be an isolated issue. ETA: I finally get upgraded past "Stock."
  25. I didn't even know it was that possible to vibrate that much on an Interstate-grade highway that wasn't under construction. Wonder how Toyota will explain this one away?
