  1. Screw that Genesis lump-sum total. That's getting to be as bad as Toyota combining Corolla and Matrix.

    Cadillac died!

Truthfully speaking, though, that should be Buick territory. Not Cadillac.

    Cadillac died!

I'd just as soon wait for '13 and the ATS.
  4. Autoblog Seems like they like it, although they keep harping on the fact that it's not a rebadged Insignia OPC.
  5. Yeah... this should have been a Nissan.
  6. My family in Newport News, VA are preparing for the festivities as I type this. They've already ordered mandatory evacuations of two entire cities and parts of others. Irene passes over Hampton Roads tonight. I'm gonna be glued to the internet tonight, monitoring the situation back home.
  7. Yesterday, leaving campus, I passed an accident involving a Tahoe and an Impala (I believe). Also at the scene was a last-gen Prius. With discreet flashing lights and no ACCPD markings, the Prius was the response vehicle. I'm now scared to speed.
  8. OK, I thought you were initially talking about "earthquake weather." I gotcha.
  9. Weather and seismic activity have nothing to do with one another. Mostly. There does appear to be some kind of link between large subsurface radon gas releases and brilliant red-orange sunrises/sunsets shortly before a quake, but nothing definite. Just prior to the Japan quake, atmospheric radon levels skyrocketed over Japan. Interesting. However, sunrises/sunsets aren't considered to be weather related either for the most part. On the other hand, some have said that the escape of radon into the atmosphere after seismic events can increase humidity and temperature. But since temperature and humidity fluctuate quite often, one would have to have instruments in place all the time just to measure the amount of radon in the atmosphere any time they spiked. Doesn't seem consistent enough to be a reliable predictor.

  11. Duly noted. If Arkus is anything like my father's Amstaff, you wanna think long and hard before putting them in a $60K+ vehicle for any stretch of time. Put it this way, he runs inside the Tahoe. My father's dog? She'd be taste-testing the upholstery.
  12. Shame they didn't let you pilot the Challenger.
  13. I think they only make the V wagon on order. Like the E63 wagon. Duly noted. If Arkus is anything like my father's Amstaff, you wanna think long and hard before putting them in a $60K+ vehicle for any stretch of time.
  14. So the mutts can have fun too.
  15. Car's not on my list in the foreseeable future, but I still rather enjoy it. The dealer here had a CTS-V coupe in that exact color a few months back. It didn't have the Recaros, though. Come to think of it, I've still never sat in one of these...
  16. First we had the new Legacy looking more Toyota-like... and now the new Camry looking more Subaru-like. Among other influences. I miss real creativity. Autoblog reports that Toyota expects the vast majority of its sales to be repeat buyers. That's gonna be a problem since the other midsizers are conquering Camry sales as we speak.
  17. My brother in Richmond, VA (closest major city to the epicenter) definitely felt it. No buildings have been reported as damaged as of yet.
  18. Yeah, I care more about the powertrain than the body. Longitudinally mounted engine... could this be the Omega platform without being explicitly mentioned?
  19. My first guess was Mosler, but I'm not sure.

  22. One difference: E-Class is Mercedes' volume leader, albeit by a slim margin.
  23. I reiterate, the choice of wheels in that teaser shot is the only thing that reminds me of any Mercedes. (sorry for the big picture, it's a hotlink)
  24. I don't really have anything against rear drums either. But when you go from being arguably the most premium offering in the second to solidly mid-pack when it comes to features, it's not a good thing IMO. Sixty8 - yeah, they kept the 2.5 I5 from '10 and before, but it's wrapped in a much less fancy package now.
  25. The wheels are the only thing that remind me of MB... those kinda remind me of AMG wheels. The body looks like it has softer lines than previous Cadillacs. Still angular but more subdued. So when and where do they unveil everything?
