  1. I know... I was trying to throw in some sarcasm and just be a pain in the butt for Nick.

    Just sharing...

It's not an SUV, it's a subcompact (think Aveo hatchback). And, its name is the Chevrolet Chevy (hence the Chevy on the back).
  3. Great news! I hope GM (everywhere else) can keep up this growth and support GMNA's losses until things get better over here.
  4. The carshow in Newport Beach sounds good... I rather do that then go to the Peterson... Hitch a ride with Nick! he'd (almost) pass by downtown LA, on his way to Newport... I think a couple other members are closer to the USC area. The LAIAS would be fun, cuz not only can we gawk at the GM vehicles, but we can scare people away from all the other makes (ok, maybe just all the Asian makes)
  5. We can do a LAIAS thing...
  6. sweet ride... can't wait to see some pics! Or I could just look out for a black on black conv. whenever i'm passing throught the OC.

    Car Spotting

saw a new Miata, thought it was an old Miata. Still no Solstice sighting
  8. My orange carrying case is in the closet :) but it's the set with the grey beams.

    Lake Havasu

The first pic was taken at the "sand-bar." So, technically it is the shore, but it's more like a very shallow area in the middle of the river.

finally got around to posting a pic of the boat... Notice the dual side-by-side carbs, one for each whipple charger :D Here's a shot looking at the London bridge (yes, it is in Arizona now), over the front of the boat.

    Car Spotting

on my drive up to LA I saw... A handfull of Cobalts, Malibus and HHRs. The new Impala and H3, and an SSR. I also saw two 4th gen. SS's :)
  12. My father introduced me to model cars etc. at a young age (we almost completed my first one at 5 yrs. old, but I bugged him so much to work on it that he tossed it in the trash), and that hobby grew to include R/C cars... I also used to play with Legos and Construx (I think that's what it was called). And I always loved getting G.I. Joe toys, since assembly was required. So, yes my childhood toys did have a huge effect on my career (Mechanical Engineer) and my love for the automobile!
  13. That hyundai is a rip-off of too many other makes to even list... I'm disgusted by that!
  14. Not exaclty potpourri, but you have to admit the smell of diesel exhaust takes getting used to. I also found it more irritating (physically, to the nose). Anyway... I like the smell of my exhaust.
  15.
  16. mmmmm... fries... In-n-Out, or McDonald's? BTW, I wasn't trying to make a post against bringing diesels over from Europe. I think it would be great. I just wanted to point out that you can definitely tell the difference between a gas and diesel vehicle, just from the smell they leave when the pass by.
  17. 1) Check! Toured most of Western Europe during the summer of '04 2) Check! Mazda 6 wagon, diesel, 5M 3) Check! but... they still stink up the place!
  18. I have my dad's 1987 IROC-Z to thank... and to a lesser extent, his 1984 Z. :D
  19. yeah... I'm thinking they are more along the lines of Sixteen fender vents anyway.
  20. yyyyup! Maybe he couldn't find reverse? or he just couldn't drive stick!
  21. hmmm... I could do something stupid and drop all my savings on a Solstice, then put the SS in storage... or not! Anyway, still haven't seen one in So Cal! I wonder if they are in hiding, which would be nuts considering the awesome weather we've been having these past couple weeks.
  22. (there's a feud going on?) Anyway... I don't like the chop. It's boring when you take all the rice away, and the only thing that says Camaro is... the door! (and the grill and headlights... kinda)
  23. Is it anything we could expect in the US? Maybe badged as something other then a Chevy? I can't tell what size it is... but the headlights and tail lamps look kind of upscale. It looks like it could make a nice entry level Buick.
