  1. Saw my first new Silverado on the streets.
  2. I agree that some buttons on the radio are similar and small, but there are redundant controls on the steering wheel.
  3. Well... there was a heavy (but shorter) guy that had no problem with the back seat either. I'de say at 6'6", you would be a few/couple inches from touching the ceiling with your head. But, since the middle row slides (I had it slid forward one click to be comfortable), there shouldn't be a problem with banging your knees or room in the footwell. It's really only the middle row being low and shallow that might feel funny to us taller people. I wonder if the captain's chair middle row set-up would be different, with taller and deeper seats assuming they don't have to collapse for third row access?
  4. I think they were trying to sell the whole "Contractor/Work ready" theme for the Turdna (not a typo ). Anyway... I was also there on Saturday (2-6 pm). The show did seem dead overall. Pontiac and Buick seemed like they had the lowest attendance of all the GM brands. Chevy had a croud because of the Camaro and Z06. I heard a lot of great comments about the 3 Lambdas, coming from different demographics. The Buick is still the best looking, but in person I prefered the Saturn over the GMC. My mom really liked the Saturn too, and I'm pretty sure we'll be replacing the Tahoe with one. Croc brought this up... the seats in the middle row are low and not deep. I think the depth is a bigger issue, but I wonder if it had to be that way to have the cool accordian style function (the seat bottow flips up and the entire thing slides forward, to provide access to the third row). By the way, i'm 6'3" and I have to say that the third row of seats felt cavernous!!!
  5. 7 years on 02/23/07
  6. That happened to the Camaro a few months ago... It went away without any type of service.
  7. Interesting comments
  8. The V6 Mustang? Only had that one for a week.
  9. Does it come in the Montego? I spent 3 weeks driving one of those (rental).
  10. They are there, right above "fresh ideas for a better GM," in grey text. I also agree, whatever changes were made have helped a whole lot.
  11. I forget if it was Discovery, TLC or the Travel Channel... but one of them showed how NORAD (I think) actually computed the same thing and simulated it, so you can actually go to some website to see where Santa is!
  12. Well... What do you measure? Acceleration? What if you are just taking a hard turn? Velocity? Same as before. Leaning of the vehicle? What if you just decided to slowly drive up an incline at an angle? OK, you might say that at some angle you basically are rolling over, but then the issue is when to deploy the bags. Maybe it's a combination of measurements... Here's an idea, just popped in my head... What if they measure the weight normal to each wheel (in the ideal case with a car on level ground, each sensor would read one-fourth the vehicles weight). During the onset of a rollover, first one side of wheels would read zero. The weight measured by the remaining wheels would decrease until they reach a zero load => rollover. I'de say the big deal isn't adding "a sensor," the issue is what kind of sensor and where to put it. That is what all the research will try to explain.
