  1. Well... my little brother (16 and-a-half years old) will be driving an '07 VW GTI for another 39 moths (it's a lease)! The little snot still sucks at driving stick, so I drove it home for him today. The car is really cool... it drives well, the seats are "sporty," and they really did get rid of the turbo lag! All-in-all, it's a good bang-for-the-buck considering all the standard equipment you get with the "base" GTI.
  2. I got that exact same call a couple days ago... but there was no mention of a free flat screen! I so would have bit on the offer!!!
  3. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but...
  4. Today was an excellent car spotting day, considering I spent lots of it driving around the OC... I saw: lots of new Escalades lots of HHRs an Aston Martin outside the Ritz (the coupe, can't remember the name) a CTS-V and an STS-V 4 XLRs a couple C6s ... but the coolest...The new Callaway Corvette!
  5. I really don't care about the FWD/AWD aspect, because I know it wouldn't matter to my mom. My dad, on the other hand, seems to be leaning towards AWD just not to have FWD. Funny... considering he drove a '92 Bonneville for a while. Again... I won't complain if it's AWD! Anyway, I've priced the Enclave and for a FWD CXL with 2nd row captains delete (approx -$495), plus a couple other fancy options (totalling about $1500 I think), the price was around $36k, which I think is definitely good. Edit: To be more specific about the options etc.: FWD CXL 8 passenger seating (-$495) Driver's Confidence Pkg ($520) includes remote engine start, rear parking sensors and heated windshield washer fluid Luxury Package ($925) includes adaptive headlights, dual heated power mirrors with power fold and autodim, 110V power outlet, tilt telescoping wheel with memory Total MSRP comes out to: $35,940
  6. My mom saw all three at the LAIAS, and that did the trick (as far as her seeing them and being convinced). We had to do some extra convincing, as far as keeping her from straying to the Audi Q7 (told her it's too small inside), and she liked SRX but it was also too small. So... in the end she likes the Outlook and Enclave, but is going for and Enclave because it's more (in her words) "cushy inside" (even though she hasn't sat in one). Either way... we get a Lambda, so no complaints!
  7. So... Dale Jr. had a run-in with Waltrip, dropped from 2nd to last, then managed to finish 2nd?
  8. Exaclty... I believe his apologies, because I realize he's apologizing for saying anything at all, not for what he said. He is definitely a moron etc.
  9. I'm not sure... I'd assume that if he did, it would be on the South shore. I usually stick around the North shore, so I'm out-of-touch with everything else.
  10. We sold the Tahoe... so no new pictures of it in the snow Next I'll have to post pictures of (hopefully) an Enclave. I'm pushing for silver, but my mom likes the cocoa. Either way, I'll snap some pictures of the new family ride with or without snow!
  11. I think the F-bodies might have been the only LS equipped cars without engine covers.
  12. Maybe it's the odd angle of the photograph, but this thing just looks weird. I can't tell if it's a stubby, squished minivan... or more of a vertically stretched wagon. I would prefer the vertically streched wagon look.
  13. The exposed wire could start arching (shorting out to some nearby grounded metal), causing sparks and maybe another fire.
  14. I think that's a DVD player for the rear passengers.

    Our Driveway...

My driveway lost an '02 Tahoe... ...but it should be gaining an Enclave once they are out!
  16. "Live webcasts on both websites" aren't both of those the same website?
  17. Close... but not exaclty This blue looks like it has a little green in it, and it's more vibrant. 68's reminded me more of the blue that came on the mid-to-late 80's Camaros.

    Drugs?

I started drinking at age 15 (14? can't remember). I used to drink much more (often, and quantity), but I've slowed down a lot since about age 22. Now it's just the occasional drink-till-ill for special occasions. I used to smoke these unfiltered Mexican ciggarettes called Alitas (small, wrapped in rice paper, the paper was delicious) when drunk. I only did it because I liked the taste of the rice paper, and to show my real smoking friends just how "girlie" they were for smoking filtered ciggarettes... There were also these cigars, called "Backwoods," that had a good flaver (at least they used too, I tried one recently and it sucked). Anyway, I smoked those cuz they looked cool (like hand-made, but not perfect cylinders... just rolled up leaves). I've never done anything else. I think the reason is I'm stubborn (in cases where things are good for me, or not), so when I decided I would never try weed, I never did. Other drugs are just way too serious for me to even have to decide on whether or not to try them.
  19. Maybe that's why the G8* isn't supposed to last that long. There would be a slight overlap, then the Impala would be on its own. Edit: * the first generation, assuming it will be updated/refreshed/replaced...

    A fight

Wow, that takes guts! By your account, it sounds like you tried to help someone in trouble, they picked the fight, threw the first punch, and you reacted in self-defense. I'd say you definitely did the right thing by helping someone in trouble, regardless of how things turned out (ripping the guys ear off). You have an Army Corporal as an eye-witness, so it's not like you have to worry about accountability and stuff...
  21. Looks and sounds exciting... can't wait to see all this stuff come true!
  22. Just out of curiosity... in general, does resale value even matter after 7-10 years? Would a Tacoma be worth significantly more than the Canyon after that much time?
  23. I don't like much of the current MB line-up, but that does look pretty good. Too bad half the pics have the Lexus logo in the background.
  24. I don't think he "just slid off the road." From the looks of the front wheels, it seems like he ran straight over a curb at high speed. And yes... stomping a man's balls will also make him cry. I was going to go with "kicking a man's balls," but it's all the same...
