  2. PickupTrucks.com is now showing a full picture (unobstructed, still camo'ed) of the purported 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab: View article here
  3. Saw my first 2011 Chevrolet Captiva, at work when I was leaving yesterday. I work for a pharmaceutical company that has a large sales force that get to choose their vehicle for work. I see all kinds of stuff, from Ford Escapes to Audi A4 wagons to now the Captiva. I'll have to go outside in the daylight hours to get a better shot (for some reason my flash on my Droid was off). When I first saw it, I thought someone put VUE XR rims on a XE model, then noticed the Chevy bowtie on the hubcap and then it hit me it was a Captiva. *EDIT: Just looked out the 3rd floor window and saw it in the parking lot:
  4. Back from my "short trip" through the tunnel of light, where good ol' St. Peter informed me that while those trucks are "heavenly", they weren't up there with him behind those pearly gates But yes, that is a heart attack inflicting auction right there. First '57 Heaven sells off their '57 GMC Suburban Carrier pickup, now this collector too? He's famous among the '50s GMC pickup fans for not only his superb Suburban Carrier collection, but also preserving the one-off 1957 GMC Palomino show truck. Damn I wish I had a trust fund available right now!!
  5. Do you know why Polish people have "ski" at the end of their last name? ... ... ... ... ... Because they can't spell toboggan!!! (and before you ask, yes, I'm a card carryin' "ski") I'd like to order up some snow (about 4-5") for December 24 to blanket all of southern New Jersey, just in time for Christmas
  6. Back in 1994 I worked part-time (college) at an insurance company and there was a 19 year old girl that finally got her driver's license. Her first car? Her grandmother's '79 Caprice coupe in two-tone light and bright green! While I didn't like the color, I loved the roof line styling.
  7. I have a set of the reindeer antlers & red nose AND a set of the bunny ears and pink nose for one of my two vehicles to display. My 6 year old son gets a kick out of them on the car, and I usually only display them for a couple of days (like a day or two before Easter/Christmas and then the next day before coming off). Corny? You betcha! But I get a kick out of my son's enjoyment (I'm sure my 17 month old daughter will like it too). Previously, I put a small wreath with a red bow on the grille of my '01 GMC Sonoma and in 2009 I put a small wreath with battery-operated LED lights on the '96 Caddy FWB. I found the wreath and lights when decorating after Thanksgiving, so I'm going to put them on the Envoy this week. Additionally, all of my vehicles display a US flag for Memorial Day and 4th of July.
  8. Not always... the GMC Sierra HD All Terrain concept truck debuted in Detroit this year... and I want to say that the Texas Fair in 2006 was when the new-for-2007 pickups were shown. I remember the 2003 refresh of the Sierra/Silverado as the last Chicago debuts (I could be wrong though).
  9. I'm still saying that a full-size pickup will be previewed, either in "concept" or "pre-production" form. But then again I can be wrong

  11. / Is one better than the other? If yes, which one? Since there are a few little areas that require some attention, I figured having a repair manual will be very helpful. I know at least the Haynes book is available at my local Advance Auto and Auto Zone parts stores, not sure about the Chilton. The wife needs some gift suggestions and I think this would be a great gift. Your thoughts/advise/input is appreciated, as always!
  12. It has gotten my attention!
  13. Congrats on your first solo flight Chris!
  14. Do you really need to ask that here?!?! I'd like to consider the new Buick Verano for the wife, though I know she wants a new Buick LaCrosse. With the amount of miles on the G6 (55k), and 2 1/2 years left on the loan, it's likely the G6 will not be replaced anytime soon unless a dealer was desperate to sell a new Buick However, a new Buick is on the wife's future wish list. My plan is to pay-off the Envoy loan (GM CPO, still have 4 years left) and then finally get the regular cab, full-size pickup I've always wanted (GMC Sierra). While I've always wanted a 1500 series, the new-for-2011 HD's are just beauty's to my eyes. A regular cab, long bed SLE 2500 HD 4x4 would be a really nice rig for me. However, if the Envoy doesn't stick around, a Crew Cab Sierra would be nice too And if gas prices make any of these two dream vehicles out of unobtainium, then a GMC version of the new Colorado crew cab pickup or the SUV version would also be on the consideration list.

  16. So, does this open the door to a "toy" for you
  17. Since GMC showed off the Sierra HD All Terrain concept truck last year, maybe Chevy will show off a styling exercise previewing the new Silverado. Of course a GMC version of the Chevy Colorado could be in the works, however I think that might be saved for Chicago (traditionally the truck debut show of the majors) or NY.

  20. Need assistance? I got vacation time and a really, really nice new camera

  22. Great idea! These could be offered by every GM dealership (not just for trucks). I know some of the newer dealerships have already taken a semi-salon approach for aftermarket items, but by expanding it so that the new vehicle customer can go into a specialized area, pull up a picture of their vehicle (stock photo), and "add" items to it that can then be installed and added to the purchase price, it would help make a vehicle purchaser like their decision more and help out the dealership's profits. Point though would be to make this AFFORDABLE to the average buyer - whether it's a full set of 22" rims, body kit, and stereo upgrades, or just a set of fog lights, chrome door handles, and a decent set of tires and upgraded rims for the basic vehicle purchase. Don't forget the 22" rims the dealers are pushing out now more than the 20" rims from the past 2-3 years Both great ideas! Make 'normal' sized rims & tires that offer a better design than the basic set at an affordable price.

  24. Happy Birthday!!
  25. Great to have you "up and running", to an extent, Cort! Here's to a speedy recovery so that you can get back to doing all that you love. Oh, and by the way I was thinking of you the other day (Friday?) when I saw this in a shopping center I was at: Hope you enjoy that picture!
