  1. That is definitely good news!! Can't wait to see this at the upcoming NYIAS then...
  2. First, welcome back!! Second, I love the color choice you went with for your Cruze. I'm trying to convince the wife to trade in her '08 Pontiac G6 V6 Sedan for a new Cruze LTZ with the RS package in the Crystal Red like yours... no luck, yet.
  3. Sad news, indeed. I'm not a fan of the Colorado's CUV-inspired frontend styling, though I do like the pickup overall (here's where I'm hoping GMC comes in with a Terrain/Acadia {'13}-inspired frontend). The SUV though is a different story - that frontend styling blends very well with the rest of the SUV body. Even if a GMC wasn't offered, I would seriously consider a TrailBlazer if offered for sale here in the US.
  4. Yes, please do that. I agree with your sentiments 100%.
  5. GM Announces Bi-Fuel Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HDs Posted by Mark Williams | March 4, 2012 GM announced today a bi-fuel version of the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HDs that can run either on regular gas or compressed natural gas. The extended cab is powered by a 6.0-liter V-8 that makes the same horsepower and torque as you'd find in the base model with "a minimal loss" with CNG, said Mike Jones, GM's CNG product manager. The pickup will be available in long- and short-bed versions and two- and four-wheel drive. The engine initially runs on gas, then automatically switches over to CNG once an optimum temperature is reached. When the CNG runs out, the engine transitions back to gas. A dashboard switch allows the driver to manually control which fuel is being used, Jones said. The combination of the 17-gallon CNG tank and the standard 36-gallon gas tank provide more than 650 miles of range, GM says. When running on regular gas, the bifuel pickup should achieve the same gas mileage. Jones did not give exact fuel economy ratings when the system is running on CNG but we would guess, like most CNG powertrains, it will be a little less than gasoline. 6. More Options for Ram Tradesman 1500 Posted by Mark Williams | March 6, 2012 It's official: The Ram Tradesman is a huge success, and Ram Truck is expanding the number of models to include more powertrain options and cab configurations. "From the moment we launched it, the Ram 1500 Tradesman was a hit," said Fred Diaz, Ram's president and CEO. "Our new four-door Ram Tradesman models offer the pickup segment's best combination of room for six hard-working adults, V-8 capability and value." The Tradesman is a value-priced package designed to meet the hard-working needs of commercial fleets as well as small businesses. Ram has been successful at expanding the model lineup for the Ram 1500 Express, so it makes sense to follow the same strategy with the Tradesman. In addition to adding crew-cab and Quad Cab models, the 2012 Tradesman will now come standard with the smaller 4.7-liter V-8 (the Hemi remains an option), offering 310 horsepower and 330 pounds-feet of torque. Ram says this will make the entry-level Tradesman the strongest tow vehicle and cargo hauler of any work truck option on the market. Read the rest of the article here. Source: PickupTrucks.com
  7. Thanks for the links... both sites were good and provided me with the information I was looking for.

  9. I'm glad to read your comments, hyperV6. Of the originla Lambda releases, the Outlook was my favorite of the three (eventually four, then three again). I really, really wanted to like the GMC Acadia the most, but the rounded features (feminine) of the front end styling just prevented me. Many times while looking at '07-'11 Acadias I tried to make myself like the whole package, but the front end and taillights just turned me off. The 2013 MCE has had me do a 180 though... I can't wait to see it next month at the NYIAS. I've even contemplated buying the media kit off of eBay lately

  11. Wild guess... Indian motorcycles? EDIT: Oh wait, you did say car companies...
  12. I'm wondering if there is a really good online site to use to build a vehicle as if one were placing an order with a dealer. I'm not interested in pricing as much as I am packages and free-flow options. Specifically looking for GM vehicles to build... used GM's own site for many years, but it always seems I can't select certain items or select items do not appear. TIA!!

  14. I might be interested in the rear gas door Pontiac emblem if it's in good shape. What is the emblem on the lower front fender? I found this picture on Google: I'm guessing it stands for Tri-Power?

  16. BTW, I prefer the Cruze design, conservative as it is, over that of any Hyundai or the current Ford trend. Those two manufacturer's seem to be very "trendy" with their current styling direction and I am not a big fan (while my wife likes the Fiesta and Focus, I can't stand them - same for many Hyundai's {seems I like Kia's more conservative styling of the two]). I would choose the Cruze or the Verano over any Ford or Hyundai any day of the week.
  17. Nice write-up! I too am equally impressed with the Chevrolet Cruze, and had hoped to get the wife interested in trading in her '08 G6 for one this year (or next). Since the G6 is almost paid off (2 years!) on a 0% loan, she has no financial interest in getting rid of the G6 (she said I can do whatever I want with the Envoy, but there is no way I'm going to give up my SUV!! ). My main "con" with the exterior styling lies with the taillight/rearend design... it has too much of an Asian influenced IMO (whereas the rest of the car looks "just right"). My personal favorite Cruze is the LTZ trim with the RS package in the deep red - passed one today like that on the drive in to work and it makes it too tempting to go to the nearest Chevy dealership. I think I'll wait to see what comes of the 2013 MCE, as the posted pictures of the updated grille & foglight housing have piqued my interest.
  18. That was very kind of you to help your dad out with his transportation needs. Being a big believer in Karma, I feel something good will eventually come your way
  19. Not a Japanese car manufacture fan by any means, however I like both the Nissan Frontier pickup and its spin-off, the Suzuki Equator.

  22. I'm a fan of teh Grand Prix series from Pontiac, and the '89-'96 rank up there in my list of favorite GPs (personally I'd love a '90 Turbo GP Coupe or a '96 GTP Coupe). I like this style of GP, just not a fan of the NASCAR-inspired version here. But I'll vote Cheers since I like this model year
