  1. No way would I ever choose a '61 Oldsmobile over a '61 Pontiac: But I'm a Pontiac man like you're an Oldsmobile man
  2. It would be nice to see updated versions of these on dealer's lots in the very near future:
  3. GMC & Chevy SUV production is in early Q4, according to this information I found elsewhere (and if it's still current); however, Cadillac Escalade is not until early Q1 in 2014:
  4. Great write-up, mudmonster!! I wish GM would drop this truck, heck any new GMC, off to my driveway for a week-long test drive
  5. Thanks to Chris, the 2014 GMC SIerra has now been spotted out in the wild, testing: http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2012/05/spied-2014-gmc-sierra-1500.html
  6. Jurassic Park
  7. Nice spotting there, caddycruiser!! Those are the upgraded chrome rims for 2012 that a lot of GMC dealers are not opting for (have seen only one other GMC dealer within Mercer, Burlington & Camden counties with a Canyon & those rims). I think their awesome looking and would definitely have to select them if I was ordering a new '12 Canyon. I think their very Hummer-like in design/style for a GMC. Not a fan of that red-orange, but definitely like the Canyon otherwise
  8. Driving in to work both Friday and today I saw two different brand new 2013 Ford Taurus sedans (Friday's must have been a SEL or Limited model, as it was nicer looking, whereas the one I saw today looked to be a fleet or base model). While I was not a fan of the redesign when shown at the '11 NYIAS, I will admit I like the new look out in the wild (all except the SHO, I still think it looks too cartoony). I guess the big, gaping bass fish-inspired grille is growing on me
  9. (picture source: http://www.leftlanenews.com/photos/ram-1500-diesel-picture-3.html) If that RAM 1500 has a diesel engine in it, they sure did pick the perfect model to hide it in - a lowered, sport-oriented regular cab long bed pickup with way too tiny tires!! There's no denying that a diesel resides under that hood though.
  10. Don't you know how to read? Just teasing you, friend!!
  11. This used car dealer, which is literally in my neighborhood, has posted 10 2001 Chevrolet Astro Cargo Vans for sale: http://minimemotors.com/vehicle/used-2001-chevrolet-astro-cargo-van-1112-wb-rwd-930981.cfml#ar_top Would the miles scare anyone away from purchasing one of these for local use???
  12. turn over
  13. Well, continue to enjoy that Jeep for now (I'm sure the Colorado in '14 will be calling your name!)
  14. Great to read you & the wife are having a positive experience with the Terrain so far. I too think it's a great looking vehicle. I am being tempted, since looking at them at the NYIAS in early April and seeing so many on the roads. The wife feels that it's just too small for our family needs (if my 18 y-o step-son joins us when we're out, then I agree). She wants me to look at something bigger, like an Acadia, but with that comes a bigger price and a bigger appetite for fuel. So for now I'm content with keeping the Envoy, as it does everything I need it to well (downsides are no extra passenger room and gas consumption). But maybe year-end sales will get me to rethink this over
  15. Heavy duty frames for medium trucks to cut engineering costs, in addition to diesel technology? My guesses
  16. Medium Duty Trucks. Since GM has gotten out of the business, I believe it is hurting their profits. Look at how many medium duty trucks Ford sells! The biggest GM truck you can get right now is a 3500 (1-ton)... ask RAM how many 4500 and 5500 RAM chasis cabs they sell... ask Ford the same question with the F-450 and F-550. Heck, look at how many F-650 and F-750 trucks are on the roads. GM got out of this market with the Topkick/Kodiak trucks and likely shouldn't have (I understand the fleeting cash problem pre-BK, and then the BK, caused most of the changes in GM).
  17. So far I've spotted two in my company's parking lot, one more of the basic variety and the other of the more upscale variety. With my pharma company paying, most of the reps go top-of-the-line with their vehicle purchases.
  18. Since you brought it up...
  19. I wasn't too worried the past month or two since I found this information online: Now last year I was starting to wonder if the regular cab model would survive with the 2014 redesign. Glad to see that it wasn't on the chopping block, as that's likely the model I will get in '15 or '16 (unless some financial windfall occurs in the next couple of years and I can get away with a crew cab). I've always wanted and regular cab pickup anyway
  20. No, it's a Chevy. Possibly a Silverado Sport. Not an SS, but something to go against the R/T or FX2. Darn, I was wrong. Have you spotted any GMCs yet? I know a lot of the pictures floating around the 'Net are of the Chevy.
  21. Though I've always (and still do) like a standard bed pickup, I think I'd go for a long bed configuration when the time comes:
  22. Source: http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2012/04/spied-2014-gm-half-tons-caught-testing.html#more *Click link above to see pictures. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I know that is the GMC Sierra under that camo. I can tell by the rims, which are classier than the ones shown on the Chvey Silverado extended & crew cabs from earlier postings. I can't wait for these trucks to be revealed to the public!! If things go right the next couple of years, a regular cab model (or if things financially go really right, a crew cab) will be gracing my driveway Nice capture, Mr. Doane
  23. Don't get me wrong, dfelt, I'm still a diehard GMC guy, but... the styling of the RAM and the bang for the buck features surely are tempting. Plus, look at how well the tires & rims fit the truck, all for $25k. You can fit a toolbox on top of the GMC's wheels!! I hope GM realizes that people still want regular cab pickups, but not basic models that look basic. Truthfully, I like the chrome bumpers of the GMC instead of the painted plastic bumpers of the RAM, but appreciate what the RAM offers stylistically. I'm just tired of seeing a GMC with tiny tires & rims with such huge wheel well openings. They need to have the designers come up with a more stylish package, like what's offered on the RAM 1500 Express (and price it accordingly too - I can't believe you get a better looking package cheaper at RAM!).
