  1. Opps, forgot to post mine. Appropriate for the new spring weather, I saw a car carrier full of new Chevy Sparks in pastel colors (well, at least pastel blue stood out among the other red, white, and silver Sparks). It was a small carrier, had 10 new cars fully loaded on the trailer, heading south on the NJ Turnpike in the Robbinsville/Washington Twp area.
  2. April show-ers bring many followers (my attempt at being witty today using a Spring theme ) Post what have you seen so far this month!
  3. Has anyone ever put together metrics on the vehicles they've owned? I have, in relations to the manufacturer, body style, colors, and new vs. used. Enjoy! Manufacturer 2 Buick 13%; 1 Cadillac 6%; 3 Chevrolet 19%; 4 GMC 25%; 4 Pontiac 25%; 2 Saturn 13% -16 TOTAL 100% -Nuttin' but GM vehicles have graced my driveways. You can call me a Kool-Aid drinker but I've never been let down by my GM cars, trucks, and SUVs. Body Styles 3 Coupe 19%; 7 Sedan 44%; 2 Pickup 13%; 2 SUV 13%; 1 CUV 6%; 1 Convertible 6% -16 TOTAL 100% -Out of the 16 vehicles, 1 was my step-son's (sedan; '98 Buick Regal LS) and 4 have been my wife's (3 sedans - '00 Grand Prix GT, '04 Malibu LT, '08 Pontiac G6 V6; & 1 CUV - '03 Buick Rendezvous CX). That leaves me 11: 3 coupes ('78 Chevy Camaro LT, '92 Chevy Cavalier Z24, '95 Pontiac Trans Am), 3 sedans ('99 Pontiac Grand Am GT1, '07 Saturn Aura XE, '96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham), 2 pickups ('01 GMC Sonoma SLS HighRider, '15 GMC Canyon SLT 4WD CC LB), 2 SUVs ('05 GMC Envoy SLT 4WD, '06 GMC Envoy SLT 4WD), and 1 convertible ('07 Saturn Sky). Colors 5 Red 31%; 3 Black 19%; 3 Blue 19%; 2 White 13%; 2 Gray 13%; 1 Green 6% - 16 TOTAL 100% -Out of the 11 vehicles that were mine, I had 4 red, 2 black, 2 blue, 1 white, 1 gray, and 1 green (wife has had 1 black, 1 blue, 1 gray, and 1 white; step-son had 1 red). New vs. Used 10 New 63%; 6 Used 38% - 16 TOTAL 100% -Lastly, used vehicles belonged to my step-son (1) and me (5); the wife has had 4 new vehicles and I've had 6. By the way, I hate running metrics and dealing with numbers but enjoyed this exercise as it dealt with vehicles
  4. Here's one at dusk with the headlights, LED lights, and the fog lights all on:
  5. I've filled up teh truck with gas (regular) three times so far. Total mileage was 776 at last fill-up, adding up all the gallons comes to 40.839, doing some division shows average MPG to be 19. Not bad considering the '06 Envoy 4WD was giving me about 15-16 MPG.
  6. Here are some additional 'scenic' pictures I took yesterday: These were taken in Smithville Park, Eastampton, NJ on Sunday, March 29th. This is one of my favorite places to take pictures of all my cars.
  7. One month down, as of Saturday (March 28th). Still madly in love with my Emerald Green Metallic GMC! Got it washed today for some nice weather photos. Enjoy! I'll post some commentary tomorrow about my first month of ownership.
  8. I will file that in the back of my head! Thanks ;-)

  10. I have two 1955/1956 GMC half ton hubcaps. One is in original shape I picked up cheap. One day I'd like to get it sandblasted so I could repaint it. The other is a perfect chrome half ton cap that I wanted to display but it's still wrapped up and in storage in my basement. I'm always looking at hubcaps for various makes at car shows ;-)

  13. Weren't they a one-year only version of the Dodge Rampage?
  14. Good luck with that goal, balthazar! That would be an awesome sight to behold on the road. Just watch out for Jersey drivers

  16. Thanks 2QuickZ's!! I'm getting close to the one month mark (March 28th). Expect some commentary soon

  20. Well, my salesman says that if the other dealer's LaCrosse (dark red one pictured above) is included in the current 16%nsales incentive, the other dealer won't trade it away. She's thought more about the Verano and feels as if she's settling for it over the car she really wants, i.e. the LaCrosse. She's in no rush to get a new car, would prefer to wait for a 2016 assuming the LaCrosse remains the same as the 2015 model. So for the time being she's holding off.

  22. No, we had the courtesy car (LaCrosse) for ~24 hours last week and she put 100 miles on it in that time. She nor I have yet to drive a Verano; she is dead set against the Regal (I tried my best telling her how it's more in line with her G6 in size than a Verano); she's not a fan of its styling. She is interested in the Buick Sweet 16% deal but my dealer said he'll likely not be able to trade for a car that qualifies if he doesn't have what she wants (which is the case). She started up with the Encore today but realizes that this deal is limiting options for her (older inventory only, most older Encore models are the base model that she doesn't want, yada, yada, yada). My dealer has a Verano that meets her requirements and he's checking to see if it qualifies. She'll be interested in learning the deal but isn't sure she wants to waiver from the LaCrosse. Walt's comment mimic's my wife's sentiments to a 'T':
  23. Thanks for the feedback, Drew. The LaCrosse is the 1SL FWD Leather model with the Experience Buick Package (includes the 3.6L V6) and the Verano would be the 1SL Leather Group with the 2.4L 4cyl. Having put almost a 100 miles on the Buick LaCrosse courtesy car last week (local highways, local roads, major highways [i-295, NJ Turnpike]), the LaCrosse is very well covered in her book. She's very comfortable and confident behind the wheel of the LaCrosse; she's curious about the ride and comfort level of the Verano. She's thinking if she feels 2/3rd's of the same experience in the Verano as compared to the LaCrosse, she'd seriously consider the Verano (also, she wants to see how small it feels compared to the larger LaCrosse). I should be jumping for joy that she wants a full-size car; it's a big step up over the G6 Sedan we have. However, I'm more into the exterior styling of the Verano vs. the LaCrosse, so we'll see what she thinks. If we do this now, I want to take advantage of Buick's Sweet 16 Deal (16% off), which expires on March 31st. Seeing as how I just cashed in my GM Extended Card earnings (and top-off bonus), the 16% deal appears to be better than current incentives with the GM Supplier discount. But I'm sure there's model age rules and the forgoing of other incentives to get that deal. A test drive in the Verano is up first, then negotiating a deal for the car she wants is next. Surprisingly, the Encore has not been a big focus of her new car desires. She prefers the LaCrosse to the Encore, and thinks she'd like the Verano to the Encore. We'll see soon I hope!
  24. Here's the LaCrosse she's picked out:
