  1. Also, on Sunday I went to get a haircut and go to Lowe's and saw this in the shopping center parking lot: This shopping center is close by my home and I can't say I've ever seen this '57 Pontiac around before. Have to keep my eyes open now!
  2. Captured another captive 2012 Chevy Captiva at my work this morning: EDIT - took a better front-shot when I left for the day:
  3. HA! Doubt I'll ever have this problem..... 5. hyperV6, you should have put your latest update in here I'm very tempted to see what a 2012 Terrain would lease for. I wouldn't need AWD, though I'd like to have it, but the V6 is a must. I'd hate to get rid of the Envoy for the Terrain, as I don't think the Terrain's butch, truck-ish looks really make it truck enough for my tastes. However, since I don't go off-roading and never tow anything, the Terrain may suit my other needs just fine (especially with my step-son entering the Marines soon taking us back to a 4-person family). Of course the 2013 with the 3.6L V6 is more enticing too - it's nice to be in a position where you don't have to make a move until you're 100% ready to Please keep us posted on your experiences with the Terrain!
  6. Horse, you're making this very hard for me! I really, really like the Verano - it and the Cruze are my favorite GM cars right now. I'm not ready to part with my Envoy, and so far I have been unable to get the wife interested in the Verano and out of her G6 (not that there's anything wrong with the G6, I for one like them). But your enthusiasm for this car is too strong!! I know that on another forum there was an article about GM having a huge sale until July 2 with dealers getting huge incentives for selling volume. You're going to make me want to visit my Buick-GMC dealer if you keep all this positive-ness going!! Good luck with the wife and not getting her interested. I think I see a new Verano in your driveway soon
  7. Longhorn
  8. Any backstory on what this is?
  9. Maybe for you two, but this is the beauty queen I'd be voting for:
  10. Pictures to come soon. A little disappointed with this show. It seems to get smaller and smaller every new year. A lot less for sale in the car corral area, the '50s offerings outside of Chevrolet has dwindled immensely, and trucks are becomong a lost art here. I was hoping to see a Chevy Caprice PPV in private ownership but none, I mean none, showed up. One Saturn SKY... one. Vendor area keeps getting smaller and smaller each year too. Will I attend 2013? Sure, because this is the biggest "All-GM" show I attend. However, there may come a point in time that it might not be worth my time and money to make such a long trek. I don't know if the All-Ford and All-Chrysler shows are in the same boat, but if they're not Carlisle needs to address these issues with the All-GM show. It seems if you want to see a Camaro, this is still what the show is all about.
  11. Great news about the development work on the GMC Canyon model. I first saw this news over at PickupTrucks.com today and was excited by the one picture showing the rear wheels sticking farther out of the sides (addresses the narrow-body issue). I can't wait for more "official" news from GM.
  12. Hopefully you won't be taking a loss at that price. Too bad I wasn't rich, I'd buy it and pay you to restore it for me
  13. LOL @ knightfan26917 I rarely talk to people outside of the vendors. If I talk to an owner it's usually to find out about it's backstory, and it's usually about a truck I tend to walk and look quickly to be able to cover as much as possible.
  14. My wife is in love with the Encore, and it would make for a nice commuter car for the two of us to go to work in - but I seriously doubt it would suffice for our family duty needs. The Terrain/Equinox due are nice, but are not my cup o' tea (I like real SUVs, not these warm & fuzzy CUVs). If I was going to buy a wagon, I want it to be car based entirely and not a CUV wannabe SUV thing (which I also think they are too short in the cargo area to really be considered wagons anyway). The Commodore would be the best offering for me, but I would consider a Verano wagon (I'd love a CTS Wagon, but those are way to expensive for my wallets).
  15. If the Opel Astra Sports Tourer was offered here in the States as a Buick Verano Estate, I would very seriously look into buying one. Heck, I've been hoping and waiting all these years for a Holden Commodore wagon to come to the states, first as a Pontiac and now as a Chevy. Build me a wagon and I shall come!!
  16. I'd hope GM would give the wagon style to Buick and the 5-door hatchback to Chevy to differentiate these two products:
  17. Which would you rather have, if you were in the market for a compact wagon and GM were to offer one of these wagon models in the US? Chevrolet Cruze Wagon: Opel Astra Sports Tourer (as a Buick Verano Estate):
  18. The Astra's tail lights to me are too generic... the back of the Astra looks like a Volkswagen or some other European car. The Verano's tail lights are love 'em or hate 'em, but I'd take them over the Astra's. Judge for yourself: Now the Astra wagon (sports tourer) is another story:
  19. I'm cheating a bit here because I've seen this car several times a month for the past several years but never stopped to take a picture. Person worked at the Kmart that use to be in this lot, took a job at the Wawa that opened next door after the Kmart closed.
  20. Nice review! I really like this Buick, and can't wait for the Turbo model (let alone a GS model) come to market. I disagree with your sentitments about the wood/metal surround - I think it fits in well with the design - and I like the chrome eyebrows - gives it an angry look to the rear. I agree with your concerns of fuel economy and with the tight rear seat space for adults. Otherwise if I wasn't really into trucks so much I'd be very tempted to see if I could afford one of these new.
  21. http://www.carlisleevents.com/events/gm-nationals/ Coming up this weekend, with a NOAA predicted 20% chance Thursday night and 30% chance Friday thunderstorms. Saturday is suppose to be in the mid-80s and sunny!! I will be heading out early Saturday morning for the day. Anyone else planning to attend?
  22. And while a Google search did not turn up any black/turquoise Cameo's, I did find this reversed turquoise/black '58:
  23. The first color, in this case Jet Black, is the main color and the second color, in this case Tartan Torquoise, is the color that wraps around the rear window, inside of the bed, and on the side of the bed in the '57 & '58 only chrome trim. That color combo is a '58 only choice. If someone cares to, they can photoshop Turquoise on this one and you'll have an idea of what it would look like: My personal preference for '57 is this combo:
  24. My 18 y-o step-son is in love with the Scion FR-S, and it has replaced his much sought-after Jeep Wrangler as the vehicle he wants to buy in the near future (plans to go into the Marines now that he has graduated from HS). I told him to help me out and not to park a Toyota product in my driveway by choosing the Subaru BRZ instead
