  1. I hope GM comes to its senses and offers the N/A market a new Chevrolet TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy (JImmy?). That's one nice lookin' rig and I'm sure with Nissan going unibody like Ford did with the Explorer will only bring more sales GM way with a BOF SUV. Oh, Brazilian women speaking English with an accent = HOT; Brazilan men, not so much
  2. Happy belated Birthday!!
  3. Nice!! Not a fan of the new blue for 2013 (2012's special packaged color), but that is one sharp looking Silverado. Going for it?
  4. Thank you, Michelle @ GM Customer Service!! I hope your oliday weekend is a great one too

The Unimog is the one Mercedes I do desire, though I know there's no chance I'd ever own a brand new one
  6. Here's another '90 GMC Suburban for sale that has the tan interior: http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/3231892968.html
  7. I spotted ocnblu's favorite car on the way into work this morning: I like these cars and this is the second on-the-road one I've seen (I saw two on a carrier back a few months ago).

  9. I'd say so... I consider my Envoy to be a truck (it is BOF afterall). Unfortunately, mine mainly hauls family stuff (beach items, stroller, groceries, etc) most of the time. It does haul three 28" orange traffic cones and my lime green fire police raincoat on a daily basis! Oh, and a$$... it hauls a$$ when I drive it to work
  10. I learned something new today... didn't realize the '72 grille changed (to the two-bar design from '71s single bar).
  11. While I am starting to like the new Impala, I would rather have a civilian-based (more equipment) Caprice - and no, I don't mean the upcoming SS Sedan. Since seeing the 20 Caprice PPV's and Detective cars two weekends ago, I've been enamored with that car. I'd be very tempted to put aside my truck wishes for one of those full-size sedans
  12. I voted Oldsmobile because I like the look of the Cutlass way more than the GTO (last year I liked the GTO was '70). Though not a fan of the single headlight frontend styling, if you included the '72 GMC Sprint I may have voted for that:
  13. 2008 was the second to last really enjoyable NYIAS for me (2009 being the last because of Pontiac's last year). GM went from a big part of the show floor to just a little area for 2010 (with the loss of Pontiac, Saturn & Hummer). 2011 GM moved to the new pavillion building that gave it the old "Motorama" show feel, but it took GM away from the rest of the show (if you had no interest in GM vehicles, you wouldn't likely walk over to their area). Toyota was quick to claim the space Chevy use to occupy at the show, which pisses me off to no end. 2011's highlight for me, besides the dedicated show area, was the Sierra All Terrain HD Concept, but other than that it was just a glimmer of the past shows. This year was better, but nothing compares to the '95-'09 shows I attended and likely never will again.

  15. You've gotten me interested in doing a story. Any suggestions on the type of questions I could ask? I've got the first one down - Why'd you start this business? - but beyond that I've already gotten writer's block
  16. Funny, I was thinking the same thing on my drive in to work today. And my wife was a big fan of the last Pontiac Vibe, she really wanted the '09 Vibe GT instead of the G6 when we bought in 2008 (thankfully, the incentives on the G6 and none on the Vibe helped my battle). I'm pretty sure that's the reason she likes the Encore so much, it reminds her of that (Vibe) and the other Buick she had (leased) that she loved - her 2003 Rendezvous (though this is much, much smaller ).
  17. Don't forget, I got to see it in person at that year's NYIAS UPDATE: I can't believe that was four years ago (2008) show... here are the pics I took: And while we're on the car-based pickup subject, this was parked not that far away from the G8 ST:
  18. Here's my list with some already mentioned: - Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais International (1989-1991) - Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible (1994-1995) - Chevrolet Beretta GTZ (1990-1993) - Buick Reatta - Cadillac Allante - Cadillac XLR - Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (1993-1996) - Achieva SC Coupe and SCX (1992-1993) - Sportside/Stepside GMC & Chevrolet pickup trucks
  19. You work for a Buick-GMC dealership? Is the owner going to Las Vegas for the annual dealers meeting? If yes, he'll be the lucky one for sure - he'll get to see the new GMC Sierra!!
  20. He can't, unless he's General Motors. On another forum, a member there happens to be friends with the Exec that had in his garage the Pontiac G8 ST you see above. It was one of few G8 STs in the country prior to the news Pontiac was being shuttered. This person was lucky to see it (and get some crappy shots), but mentioned on that forum that it was photographed at this year's Woodward Dream Cruise (note the manufacturer's plate on the rear). That is a rare car indeed, and one likely not to go to the Heritage Collection though it should (more than likely to the crusher).
  21. Seen cruising at Woodward this year: See the whole AutoWeek gallery here: http://www.autoweek.com/section/woodward&template=photostream

  24. *Read the story and view 22 photos at this link: http://www.amosauto.com/Articles/Classics/Salvage-Yards/pennsylvania-s-b-amp-l-salvage-1 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Camino - have you ever been to this yard? It doesn't seem far from where you live. I wish there were yards like this where I live, they're all just about gone now. Any yard around me today is just a scrap yard, and vehicles are stripped of parts then crushed and sent off to be melted or put on a ship to China. Actually, there is one junk yard left that I know of, in Morrisville, PA: http://www.junkyardbarbie.com/ Looks like I can get in for free with my fire dept ID, but no cameras are allowed. Maybe if I tell her I'm writing a story for C&G she'll let me take pictures
