  1. MY 2005, it's a Toyota, yet Buick just started to offer some of these items in 2010. Will GM never learn??? Nice write-up and excellent-as-always pictures, BV. BTW, is there anything else you want to tell us? Like you & Josh are adopting kids? I mean, you hooked him up with a family hauler after all!! ocnblu, Saturn sold Outlooks from 2007 through the end in 2009. Where'd you hear that the model was cancelled before it hit the lots? Are you really hitting on his mom here? Geez, Derek....
  2. Yeah, you're right about the Silverado. I took the Envoy out to Hershey this past weekend - left with almost a full tank, used all day Friday & Saturday, it was parked yesterday, filled it up this morning. Took a tad over 16 gallons (regular, $3.679/gal), $59.50. But I wouldn't be happier in anything else (well, an equally not-as-fuel-efficient Sierra ).
  3. So, is a Verano GS not far behind? I am very impressed with the Verano and am still trying to sweet talk the wife into one (she's hellbent on a '13 Encore). I think the Turbo model would be a hoot to drive, and a more aggressively styled GS model would be killer
  4. I like it, especially since it's a base model that you don't see all too often. Talk to Camino, as he has plenty of experience with one of these (I think his is a '95 or '96). I'd also venture to say that the current owner (or previous owner but not factory) installed the rubber bodyside mouldings, as I believe the base model Tahoe came without them (I could be mistaken though). The rims are '99-'02 Silverado base truck rims, JSYK.
  5. Nissan Pathfinder Armada
  6. 1940 GMC for me, if that scenario was in place Otherwise, I'd take 1940 Pontiac coupe: Though the first for 1940 Oldsmobile woody station wagon would be a close second:
  7. I think we're both seeing it differently! Here's how I view it: Current: Sketch: Spy Shot: 2001 Silverado Headlight: I still see more length in the spy shot headlight than what the sketch indicates. Regardless, SeawolfPaul's artwork is awesome!!
  8. Here's the '55 2nd Series hubcap: Here's the '54/55 1st Series hubcap: Here's the '55 2nd Series hood emblem: (*what is shown on the truck looks more like the '69/'70 hood emblem)
  9. Interesting picture, the '55 2ndSerries one: That is not the 100% production model. The hubcaps look to be from the '54/'55 1st series and the hood emblem was not a simple "bow-tie" emblem. The license plate reads 3000, which is the series model number, though many refer to the individual numbers instead (3100, 3200, 3600, 3800) when discussing these trucks. There is no issue with 3000; however, that would be like GM using a license plate GMT-900 on the current model's pre-production photo. I don't recall ever seeing this picture before and it's funny that PickupTrucks.com used it as a reference to the actual production models for '55-'59.

  11. After looking at the sketch above and reviewing the AutoBlog spy pictures again, I think the drawing's headlights are off. They are too much in the vein of the current (GMT-900) Silverado and I don't think they match the spy shot very well. I feel the headlights will be more GMT-400/800 like - longer - than square. Other than that, the sketch is still For reference, here's the spy shot I'm referencing: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2014-chevrolet-silverado-spy-shots-0/full/#photo-5329937/
  12. I don't recall any production truck using a V6 engine? Haven't they all been diesel's so far?
  13. On the GMC Canyon & Chevy Colorado, the fleet option is called a Mid-Box:
  14. From the GMC Sierra HD All Terrain Concept Press Kit: Also, realize that with the suspension lift the rear wheels do not intrude into all the way into the bed as on a normal pickup. Those bedside "bumps" are for the Rambox-like storage bins on the top (reason for the "bumps" to be so tall).
  15. Quick Google search: I will have to access my external harddrive for the pictures I took at the '11 NYIAS, and I will also review the press release to see if it provides any additional info on the bed.
  16. So... who's going? I'll be there two days again this year (really enjoyed it last year), Friday 10/12 and Saturday 10/13. Staying across from the AACA Museum at the Marriot Springhill Suites. This is my 23rd year - can't wait
  17. Please post the date of this show when you find out. It sounds like something I'd enjoy
  18. Gumby
  19. I appreciate all of the feedback and dicussion on both the ordering system and the option packages offered on today's trucks. Let's take this back to the topic at hand though, what we hope to see on the next generation 2014 GM full-size pickups and SUVs

  22. Happy belated Birthday!! Thanks for all of your contributions to this site - it's very much appreciated!!
  23. ocnblu, I think you've found your future weekend camping vehicle
  24. I agree with you ocnblu, the GM ordering system has not shown any improvements in the past decade. When I worked at a BPG dealership ('99-'00), it was always 4-8 weeks minimum (some customers waited longer for certain product) for a custom-ordered vehicle. I waited 8 weeks for my '01 GMC Sonoma Highrider because I wanted Indigo Blue Metallic. You would think with all of the improvements in technology over the past decade GM would have improved this system. IMHO, GM doesn't want their customers to order a vehicle and wants them to take something off the lot. Find a salesperson happy to take your order and not push you into a dealer search (dealer trade) and you found a salesperson for life!
