  2. Non-SLT LED lighting/headlight, as shown on the GMC Facebook page: Sierra SLE 2WD Extended Cab, as shown on the GMC Facebook page: (Notice the painted bodyside molding strip; chrome is extra cost; assuming not available on WT model) (Notice no 4WD dial on the driver's side of the dash = 2WD model) What I find interesting is that there are many people - not just here at C&G - that feel this is the "basic" dash and the SLT/LTZ will have something different. GM has stated there is one interior now, and this is it. Since the SLT/LTZ have been officially shown in the reveal, what you see is what you're getting - regardless of WT/LS, SLE/LT, or SLT/LTZ package is purchased. Now the Chevy's "High Country" and GMC's "Denali" have yet to be shown, and I'm thinking this will be the surprise at the NAIAS. I am expecting a glitzier dash in those trucks. I'm also expecting the HDs to feature their own dash, just like how Ford differentiates the F-150 from the Super Duty's.
  3. I understand a lot of the comments made here. Initially, I too felt that GM didn't go as far as I was expecting them to. After a while of looking at pictures, especially the front & rear comparison of the 2013 & 2014 Sierra, I feel GM did a decent job - they just can't let these sit for another 5 years before a MCE/update arrives. My biggest disappointment comes in the headlight design of the Sierra - this is one area I felt they went awry in (the Silverado's looks very similar to the '13 model). The next level of disappointment comes in the fact side-by-side and rear-to-rear comparisons of the Sierra & Silverado will make them look identical - same as with the '88-'98 design. The front-ends are the biggest differentiators here, and I'd venture to say that both GMC and Chevy stylists were in competition to design the winner and GMC won (the Silverado looks like a badge-engineered Sierra this go-round). Though many were not happy with the '07-'13 Silverado body flares, using the same/similar look on the '14 Sierra & Silverado wasn't a great idea. Camino, all said and done these are still trucks used for work purposes primarily. Though more family hauling use is the goal of the 1500 nowadays, I'm sure you'll still be able to order a truck with certain work-related options. The HD's will be the ones that are going to offer the work-based customer the more selectable options - not many 2500HDs are sold for family hauling duty
  4. Here's my next new truck (non-SLT so I don't get the signature LED lighting ):
  5. Minnetonka
  6. This will be my next vehicle. My plan is to order one in 2014, either a late 2014 or an early 2015 model
  7. That has me somewhat relieved. Now I want to see what the "standard" headlight looks like For those that are finding it hard to disseminate between the 2013 and 2014 Sierra, here's a good comparison photo (front only):
  8. Looks like the rear window now features both rear defrost and sliding options
  9. I'm disappointed by no "Rambox" storage. I was expecting that feature, especially with the Avalanche gone I figured GM woul make sure that option was made available. Maybe some other unique storage places too, sort of like Nissan and utilizing the rear quarters.
  10. In all honesty, I'm wondering if these trucks were planned for 2010 as a MCE and the bankrupcy pushed those plans off? And then GM took advantage of that time to redo other areas (powertrain, suspension, etc?).
  11. Funny, the GMC website doesn't indicate a blue exterior color is available for the Sierra.
  12. Don't forget, we have yet to see the full range of trims (WT,LS, LT/SLE, Denali) plus as Camino stated, we don't know what the HD's look like.
  13. I wear glasses too, dfelt, but I still can't accept the Sierra's headlights at this time. Maybe when I see it in person it will be a different story. Check out GMC.com website for the 2014 Sierra (quite impressive!): http://www.gmc.com/2014-gmc-sierra-pickup-truck.html Chevrolet.com website for the 2014 Silverado: http://www.chevrolet.com/2014-silverado-pickup-trucks.html

  15. Chevy interior shows the dash wth a bench seat, whereas the GMC is showing buckets. I actually like both, this Silverado much more than the current Gen. I am disappointed that the Sierra & Silverado did not get more of a Terrain & Equiox-type of distinction to the exterior look. Honestly, you can tell these two trucks will be perceived as "badge engineered" as it has been for many, many years now. Very happy to see the GMC logo return to the center of the tailgate - it has taken GMC too many years to go back to this if you ask me. Not a fan of the GMC headlights - the engineers are just in love with the "bedazzled" headlight look over at GMC. I'm assuming this is the upgraded headlights for the SLT & All-Terrain model; hoping that the lesser models have a more traditional set-up (time will tell). It looks as if the GMC Sierra is wearing glasses
  16. Yes. It started at 9:30 AM EST and ended around 10:00 AM. Check these links: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado: http://news.pickuptr...0-revealed.html 2014 GMC Sierra: http://news.pickuptr...0-revealed.html Engines: http://news.pickuptr...ap-forward.html
  17. PickupTrucks.com has a new (tiny) picture on their News frontpage: Interesting to see both the upper & lower headlights compared to the last picture GM showed: Notice the letter "Z" in the grille? Boy I've never been as excited about 9:30 in the morning as I am for tomorrow!

  20. I hope it was a great day!
  21. Sort of like the "trendy" automotive segment, huh! I think Buicks could attract the crowd that would never consider a "Chevy". I work for a global (Danish) pharmaceutical company in Princeton, NJ. Several people car shopping that I've spoken to like Chevies but say they could never see themselves owning one (too low on the status symbol ladder; Cruze and Volt were the cars dicsussed). Now soeone has bought a new blue Buick Verano and a lot of these same peole are saying how nice it is and something they would look at. GM needs to realize there's a market for Chevy-branded products and there's also a market for something other than a Chevy that's progressing up the symbol ladder. Here's where Buick fits in.
  22. Do you remember if your's was an early build? Could have been a leftover '78 body, as the '79s had the fuel door as a new feature that year.
  23. I guess I'm curious about the selling price and the work needed, which is hard to tell based on the pictures. If the truck needs a lot of the sheet metal replaced, than I think $3,700 is way too high. The interior will definitely need a lot of work - the carpeting, seats, door panels and dash pad all look to need replacing/work. I don't mind finding a truck that needs work, but I'm not going to pay way too much to get it and then dump even more cash into making it "right". I may pass on this one...
