  1. Me too! Traveling to Atlantic City, I pass by a business (can't tell if it's still open or closed) that has an older International Loadstar box truck parked in the same spot for all the years I've been passing it by. While I am a fan of Internationals, I'd prefer a GM truck first. However, as I now am taking a liking to these types of trucks, and seeing them showing up at car & trucks shows, I may have to look a little further into that Loadstar soon
  2. On my last note about starting to get into GM's medium and heavy duty trucks, here's a 1977 Chevy C-70 dually for sale in Toms River, NJ that I've been keeping an eye on over at Craigslist: http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/3548553409.html While I really like the '72 C-50 you posted cletus, I'm prefering the later '70s-'80s C-series trucks since they were on the roads when I was a child (here is one of the rare instances where I prefer the CHEVY over the GMC truck).
  3. Apparently his brother did a '65 Chevy C-50 pickup before this, called "Goliath": One of my favorite trucks from the past two AACA fall meet shows in Hershey has been this 1964 or 1965 GMC 4000 stakebed: Lately I'm really getting into the medium and heavy duty trucks that GM produced from the '60s into the '80s. I believe that Chevy called this color Juniper Green in the '50s, and was the standard color if you did not option a different color. This color green was to pickups back then what basic white is to work trucks today. I for one love any old truck in this color with the white painted trim (basic truck, but cool looking nonetheless).
  4. balthazar, that is a rare one indeed. I believe the earliest GM owns is a 1915 GMC. Did he say anything more about it, such as what body it has?

I like how they grafted a "Jeep" front end onto the firewall of the Wrangler cabin.
  6. SOLD!!! I like it a lot. Now who's gonna buy it for me?
  7. I-195 between NJ Turnpike to the shore. Fixed

  10. Oldsmoboi, you're originally from NJ... please tell me what highway in this state is set-up for gentle highway cruising?!?! I agree with your point. Anything that gets us better than 26 MPG will be good in my book (that's from the G6, I won't even tell you what the Envoy gets when used to commute ).

  13. Dodge/RAM/Chrysler/Jeep combo dealerships are all I see in NJ & PA. I'm assuming other states have the same set-up too? Besides the Grand Caravan/Town & Country and Durango, what other SUVs/CUVs are sold in the Dodge/Chrysler brand? The funny thing about the Durango = Dodge comment, the Grand Caravan in commercial form (RAM C/V) is sold in the RAM brand, so I can see the Durango belonging there (RAM) more than Dodge. I don't care if it's unibody or body-on-frame, if it's trying to be a truck (SUV) then it should be sold with the truck brand (just my opinion). I can see Dodge & Chrysler covering the car end, RAM covering the truck and commerical end, and Jeep handling all SUVs/CUVs. Doesn't mean it's right or best, but it at least sets the brands up for what they are. And it fits with Sergio's no more duplicated vehicles comment (though I don't know how Dodge & Chrysler are going to work that part out).
  14. Camino - if GM does sell the Ute here in 2014, all you'll need to do is change out the frontend with a Pontiac G8 I want the Ute here, but would definitely put my Sierra purchase on hold for a Sportwagon instead.
  15. Didn't Sergio state that he is doing away with duplicated models? I thought the biggest difference besides styling between the Durango and Grand Cherokee was the 3rd row in the Durango. If the Wagoneer will have a 3rd row, and potential more sales over a Dodge version, why would they keep the Durango (based on Sergio's comment)? I will also say that I never understood why the Durango remained with "Dodge" and didn't get put into the "RAM" lineup? If I'm not mistaken, the current Explorer is linked more to the truck side of Ford than the car side, correct? Then it would have made more sense to keep Durango with the RAM side of business. Maybe killing it off focuses Dodge on the car end, RAM on the truck end, and Jeep on the SUV/Crossover end?

  17. Wait, you don't remember the 7.4L SS that Chevy Trucks offered in the early '90s???
  18. reg, you hit on many of the concerns I would have with the Encore. The wife wants to delay car replacement at this time, otherwise we too would have test drove an Encore by now. I think I'd be happier with the Verano over the Encore, but the wife is enamored with the Encore's uniqueness in the marketplace.

  20. Thanks all for your responses and votes, and to Oldsmoboi for letting Buick know about this poll The wife and I commute together to work, so regardless if a new car is technically hers, I'm the driver so I get a say in what we end up with. Stating that, on our Route 1 portion, usually stuck in stop-and-go traffic, I've noticed a ton of Cruze's lately and will admit in the LTZ with RS trim they are a sporty, yet classy looking commuter car. However, I do admire the Verano more and see a bunch of them in my work's parking lot this year (Cruzes have been around for a while there; Verano's are recently starting to make a presence). Prior to this posting we were discussing the current fleet and what we wanted to do, and it seems she wants to delay a new car purchase (lease) for now. I am intrigued by the current Terrain but I know she's not a fan, nor would she want that as her "car" (I'd only consider it if I were replacing the Envoy now and subsquently delaying an all new Sierra purchase). I think ultimately when we are in the market it will come down to Encore (her) vs. Verano (me). And as dfelt stated, Happy Wife, Happy Life
  21. CBS's "The Big Bang Theory". The character pictured is Dr. Sheldon Cooper, a genius-type with a weird sense of humor. His trademarked comeback is "Bazinga". I too don't watch too much TV, but BBT is one of the shows I've become addicted too.
  22. I got lucky last night at Wal-Mart!! Well, lucky as in finding new HW & MBX releases Picked up the Fleetwood as shown above, as well as the new Escalade repaint (black with blue highlights). Found some of the new MBX releases: 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood (red), Torque Titan, International Scout 4x4, and Vantom. Plus the first release of the MBX 60th anniversary vehicles, in which I got the antique tractor.
  23. If I were lease something right now, these would be my two choices for a car, The wife, on the otherhand, would want a Buick Encore. Of course I would likely consider a Terrain too, just because.
  24. Which of the two would you choose, if you were considering both? Feel free to post your reason(s) for your choice if you like
