  1. My comment wasn't a "low blow". I was guessing that he got him some powah!! GMCGUY74 I never took your comments as a low blow, I was more thinking the trade it in for the 4th gen Camaro or Accord as a low blow. Don't worry, I wasn't being serious in my reply to you I was just having some fun trying to guess what black-knight-was doing.
  2. Looking at the 2007-2013 Sierra Denali, I realize that they too look like a monochromed SLT model. With the exception of the Denali grille-like trim on the front bumper, there isn't much setting it apart from the SLT model. Same with the interior, looks very similar to the SLT. I guess I had the 2002-2006 (2007 Classic) Sierra Denali in mind, which had a bit of body aero trim in addition to a different grille shape, unique headlamps, it's own two-toned interior colors and unique interior trim. So I won't hold it against the K2xxx Sierra Denali too much, though with the 5 month delay I was expecting more from the new '14 Denali.

  4. You got a great deal on a newer Hemi V8 for it!
  5. I'm sure real-world mileage there is a difference with the 5.3L & 6.2L V8 in daily driving. I'm sure some owners will not want the 6.2L V8 for its fuel consumption in that scenario. LIKES - 2WD & 4WD (no longer stuck with AWD only) - New styled Denali chrome grille DISLIKES - Exclusive 20" chrome rims? That exact rim is offered on the SLT (polished) and All-Terrain (painted) models too!! - Looks like a SLT model with painted bumpers and Denali badging - where's the exclusive trim? - No "man step" bumper? - Foglights should have had a different housing to automatically differentiate it from the SLE/SLT models - Not enough differentiation with the interior - looks like a SLT model I'm disappointed with the outcome - we waited since the December reveal for this? The Sierra Denali was my ultimate "wish" truck, but I don't think so this round. Plus I'm not a fan of painted/monochrome appearances on pickups (I like my chrome bumpers!), so I would pass on this model just as I am on the All-Terrain.

  7. You have to remember that the Ford's they're talking about are essentially trim & sticker/decor packages (Harley Davidson; Limited; King Ranch, FX4); the Raptor is a different animal of course. But GM should not ignore this market. I'm sure there are plenty of buyers ready to sign on the dotted line for a factory special edition. The High Country is a good start for Chevy, and I'm sure the next Sierra Denali will please those buyers. Now offer performance trucks - Chevy can have a Silverado SS again (or some Z-name package) and GMC can get their own performance-oriented model too (make it different from the Denali). Both need to offer an off-road model too, whether it is more Raptor-like or Power Wagon is up to GM. Go one step ahead and make the Silverado version the Raptor-competitor and the Sierra version the Power Wagon-competitior - this way GM covers the market on both sides (hey, if you're going to have two truck brands don't make them compete for the same customer). But GM needs to also look at how RAM offers the sport, tradesman and express packages on their lower & mid level pickups in addition to the R/T model, Laramie and Longhorn. You don't need niche vehicles when you can effectively target the market with niche packages on your existing product. I don't know the reason why 30k units of the Avalanche aren't enough to keep it alive; maybe 30k units less of the Suburban is the real reason? And maybe there's a chance the Avalanche (and a GMC version this time) could return in the near future if demand is there? Maybe GM is thinking that they would rather have 30k units of Silverado/Sierra sales instead - though we all know that Avalanche owners won't necessarily consider the full-size pickups (maybe that's what GM is banking on, biut it would be interesting to see how many current Av owners trade-in for a GM pickup). Syclone does not need to apply to the Sierra. Syclone was a S-15/Sonoma derived model and should be saved for the Canyon's 2015 replacement should GM want to issue a performance model (instead of calling it a Denali). Of course GMC makes a lot of money when they apply the "Denali" name to a GMC vehicle, so who knows? The Sierra should have it's own creative package name and not take from the Sonoma.
  8. I agree. Fell in love with these new rims seeing them on a bunch of Jeep Wranglers at the Philly Auto Show in early February. Would look great on your project Jeep
  9. Have you checked out the new '14 Impala? As a truck guy, I'm really smitten with the new Impala (and the new '13 Traverse). I told the wife if I wasn't so into trucks I'd forgo the '14 Sierra for a new '14 Impala LTZ. I think the Impala finally has some class to it's design and style.
  10. I LOVE this body style for the Olds Cutlass. Such a formal roofline design but it looks so perfect.
  11. What a truck! Such a sweet hauler for that airstream.
  12. for a very !!
  13. Go Lutz!! I'll take an Atlantic with the 3.6L V6 engine and six-speed auto trans
  14. Or look at it this way, it's smiling at you: "It's a beauttiful duck, It really is. But you see, it's smiling at me." - The Old Man, A Christmas Story
  15. I sat in two Impala's so far, one at the NYIAS and another at a dealership that left the door unlocked (Sunday visit). I don't have any memory of the steering wheel irking me, so I looked it up: Yes, I will say it looks goofy. It's designed to match the other side of the dash though. If there's enough backlash about it I'm sure GM will swap it out.
  16. Power Rangers?
  17. Barlow Chevrolet in Delran, NJ (Burlington County) has two Avs that your looking for, with the exception of the rear seat entertainment system (both Avs have this option): 1. http://www.barlowcompany.com/VehicleDetails/new-2013-Chevrolet-Avalanche-4WD_LTZ-Delran-NJ/1878511053 2. http://www.barlowcompany.com/VehicleDetails/new-2013-Chevrolet-Avalanche-4WD_LTZ-Delran-NJ/1957926273 No heavy duty trailering equipment, and they both have the 3.08 rear axle ratio. Maybe a NJ dealer will play ball? Try contacting them to see. You could fly into Philadelphia International Airport and take car service to this dealership (about 20-30 minutes away). Then you'd have a nice introductory ride home in the new Avalanche!!
  18. knightfan - they're out there, you just need to find a furniture store that doesn't rip you off. Raymour & Flanigan have some great ones, and that's where mine came from, but they can get pretty expensive. It was purchased during a holiday sale period, so that made it more affordable. I have no room left for another curio unless I go to the basement. I did look at some smaller curious this past January when we went living room furniture shopping, but the money was for new couches and not a curio! I also go to IKEA, not sure if you have one close by. They used to carry some interesting display cases at affordable prices. There's one in Philly we go to and are overdue for a visit. I will check there again. caddycruiser - I rarely display any of my 1/18th scale models due to their size. I have a bunch I want to sell and then the rest are stored in boxes in the basement. The few in my curio are taking up expensive real estate!! I need to work on where to hang my two acrylic displays soon so I can move about 20 1/24th scale models from my curio and free up some needed space for the new stuff!
  19. I'm back... well, as of Sunday afternoon. Completely worn out from the trip, too! WDW was great, and the family all had a wonderful time. A little too humid for my tastes, was hoping to be there before the high 80 degree weather and high humidity reared its ugly head I'll post more about the trip later.
  20. I'm sorry, ocnblu, I disagree with you on the Fisker Karma. I find it to be a beautifully styled car and would love to own one. I may not be an electric vehicle enthusiast, but the looks of the Karma are killer. I'd love to be able to drive one of these cars now.
  21. I want the Hot Bird and Fiero!! Will be keeping an eye out for these two
  22. Just a note to let you all know that I will be on vacation with my family to Orlando, FL (Walt Disney World!!) from Saturday, May 11 to Sunday, May 19. I will post a review of the recently released/updated Test Track by Chevrolet ride in Epcot's Future World when I return Have a good week without me, though I'll likely pop in once and a while on my Android phone.
  23. I'm sure GM will do what they did for the Saturn SKY - they'll make the dealers order one as a "demo" unit for all customers to try out. Then they'll take the customer's "order" for teh car they want. I want to see how they stick to the 90 days from order and what they will offer to customers who's car takes over 90 days to come in.
  24. No, cletus. The 4.3L V6 for 2014 is all new and has no relations to the previous 4.3L V6 that's been around since forever. Surprisingly, no mention of fuel efficiency ratings either, mud.
