You know what cracks me up? How many of you here at C&G own a newer TB, Envoy, 9-7x, Rainier or even a Bravada? I know I do, and I absolutely LOVE my Envoy. I love it so much that my best friend wanted to drive it (he turned towards imports 3 years ago), he loved it and went out and bought an '05 Rainier (GM Employee Pricing promotion cleared the lots of the Envoys in August; his only choice was leftover Rainiers and he liked the upscale styling difference over the Envoy). I don't tow, so I don't need a GMT-900 SUV. I like the size, power, ride & handling my Envoy offers me. I like it better than any car I've ever owned. If I could afford a 2nd one, I'd get rid of the Malibu and drive another Envoy :P Don't knock it unless you own one. The steering in mine is great (has the best turning radius of any vehicle I've ever owned or driven), the power is phenonmenal, I have no build quality issues to report. Give the GMT-365's a break!

Well, I have Hemmings 2005 & 2006 "Vintage" Pickup calendars and there's nothing new past the mid-'60s. I understand the fact that those '73-'87 trucks are no longer spring chickens, but I find it hard to call any post-1972 truck "vintage". Maybe classic, but not vintage. And HE, nothing personal! I just thought I'd be seeing some '40s and '50s GMCs :P
-
Well, that is definitely good news for me, as I don't want the manual (oh God, here come the comments!) and all I've been hearing is that the auto wouldn't be available at launch. :)

Damn Harley... you got me all excited when I saw "Vintage GMC...", only to find out it covered '73-'87 trucks. Those years are now considered "vintage"???

Here's some new info about the SKY from today's noon Web cast: Taken from www.skyroadster.com

And many here probably don't know that GMC Trucks in the late '20s and '30s used Buick engines. In the '50s GMC's were equipped with modified Pontiac engines. Funny, seeing as how GMC's were sold along with Pontiac's way before the merger back in '96.

2006 Monte Carlo wtih silver ground effects?
GMTruckGuy74 replied to IntimidatorSS's topic in Chevrolet
While picking up my Malibu Saturday after a service visit, a blue '06 MC SS with silver ground effects was being unloaded off a carrier. While nice looking, I prefer the monotone SS myself. -
 So true Fly, so true!

I voted Stealth Gray because that's one of my new favorite GM colors. But my second choice would be the Emerald Green. I was looking at '06 G6 GTP sedans this past Sunday and they had them in both colors on the lot, side-by-side. It would be a hard choice if I was actually buying one myself (nah, who am I kidding? I'd definitely go for the Stealth Gray! :P )

Attention New Jersey, New York & Pennsyl. C&Gers!
GMTruckGuy74 replied to Sixty8panther's topic in The Lounge
Sixty8... I live in Southern NJ (Burlington County)... but it figures I'll be in Atlantic City for the NJEA Teachers Convention (leaving tonight actually; won't be home until Friday night). Anyway, enjoy your visit to the "Garden State"! :) -
Does anyone here have pictures of the 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP? I know on the old site there was a topic with Bonne GXP pictures. Didn't know if anyone saved them or still had them. Please post here if you do. TIA! :)

I finally have one of these in the driveway

Hey I know Perrine. How was your experience there? They had a car show back in July with a red Solstice on display. They were friendly, that is until you went into the showroom. I told them I wasn't part of the pull-ahead program yet, but they insisted on giving me a full presentation of the Terazza! Then they tried to tell me to just go ahead and pay the lease off to get out of the Rendezvous so I could buy one of their last two '05 Terazza's!!! Anyway, good luck with the G6... if I could have waited, I would have gotten that instead of the Malibu. -
Well, my birthday is December 23rd. My party was never rolled into one with Christmas, and I had a small family gorwing up (even smaller now). I know I can't defend everyone whose birthday is around Christmas, but my experiences have never been bad. :)
-
You know you have my vote of confidence on your choice!!! :P So, any more details you can share? What color? I figured I'm going to wait until the Malibu is paid off and then get myself the Sierra I've always wanted. So I figure it will be either an '08 or '09 model. So in the meantime, I'll be jealous while you're out there enjoying your '06!!!

Me too... I'll even pay for the postage!!! :)

1997 was the last model year for the Cutlass Supreme. :)

Well, if i were in the market for a small, sporty 2-door coupe, I'd want the G4/Pursuit over the Cobalt. If Pontiac only sold the 2-door, then I wouldn't have a problem with a NA version (especially since they have the Vibe to cover the 5-door/sedan market). Then I'd also want to see Chevy change the Cobalt Sedan's rear so that it doesn't resemble the G4/Pursuit.

I was seriously going to consider forgetting about the Reatta and wait until next spring for the Saturn SKY to become available... but with the lack of current information on the SKY and dealers not knowing anything nor wanting to take deposits (but taking lists of names 20+ long), I'm starting to think getting a SKY in 2006 will be darn close to impossible. The Reatta is looking better and better each day!
-
Dealers don't know anything, Saturn hasn't updated their SKY web site... we know the car is coming in a couple of months... what's wrong with this picture? Anyone here with some concrete information to share? I'm beginning to think it will be nearly impossible to get a SKY in 2006!

Now those are the types of posts I've missed... Ninety Eight - take your time and come back when ready - but just COME BACK!!! Your FRIEND,

Is a Canyon refresh coming anytime soon???
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in GMC Trucks
Take a look at this picture of the Isuzu D-Max: Then take a look at the frontend of the new '07 ukon: See where I'm going with this? Maybe the D-Max will be the refreshed Canyon, since its styling is similar to the new styling direction of the GMT-900s. It would make it different from the Colorado too, as long as the Colorado doesn't receive the same frontend design. Btw, this doesn't mean I like the look of the D-Max from its pictures - I'd have to see it in person first. -
Seeing a picture like this makes me really want a Reatta: But then again, I keep thinking it was someone else's car that I don't know how well cared for it was and what it was put throught. Here's a picture of the car I'm considering: By the way, the wife told me last night that she'd rather us get the SKY. She doesn't like the Reatta at all and said that we have some time to figure out where to pull money from to get the SKY. So now I'm confused, because this car is available NOW (granted, it isn't perfect) and the SKY is still at least 6/7 months AWAY; however, I know when the SKY is available I'll be mad at myself for not waiting.

I see a Bright Red one everyday I go to work... a colleague of mine ordered one back in April (not one of the first 1000 though). Yesterday, she offered to let me take it for a spin, but my left foot is still in that "moon boot" shoe from my injury this summer (no shifting for me for a while). I told her I'd take her up one day next week (weather permitting) if she'd drop the top and take me for a spin around the school. :P P.S. - oh yeah, it's making me want a Saturn SKY even more now!!!
-
I know I can't wait to see the new Acadia!!!
-
Congrats on the purchase! If given the choice, I too would choose the Pontiac over the Chevy. Can't wait to see some real life pics of your Pursuit! Don't keep us waiting too long...
