  1. I got to say, I have an '05 Envoy SLT 4wd and love it! Of course the MPG could be better with gas costing $2.85+/gal for regular, but I knew what I was getting at the time. I love the ride, handling & performance features of my Envoy and don't have any problems with the interior. It's leased and I'm seriously considering buying it at lease-end (though that depends on what the GMC Acadia looks like ) Sorry to see these SUVs go...
  2. Yeah, I think I too will keep the SKY in the garage for a little while longer!
  3. I'll be there, sans the SKY and adding the family. Making it our annual trek to Carlisle-on-Saturday, visit-to-HersheyPark-on-Sunday trip. Can't wait!!!
  4. No one? Wow! Usually someone has something to provide. Fly?
  5. Well Sixty8, at least you're going in the right direction towards your ultimate goal (1968 ---> 1964 ---> 1959)!!! So is this a stop-gap measure to hold you over until you find your ultimate '59 Buick??? The Olds is a nice looking car... I guess I'm too much of a Pontiac man when it comes to '60s cars. Good luck with it and keep us posted (with pics too). At least it's not a Mazda (j/k BV!).
  6. Camino, I think you're going to have a hard time finding a GMC Yukon with barn doors. Just about every '95-'97 Yukon 2-door I've ever seen has the liftgate/tailgate. While the liftgate/tailgate was an option, I'd have to say that very few people bothered ordering their Yukon 2-door with the standard barn doors (most people wanted the rear wiper/washer, which you couldn't get with the barn doors). Now I'll say that I've seen many 2-door Tahoes with the barn doors, so I'm guessing you'll end up with a Tahoe in the long run. Btw, what kind of mileage are you looking for on your "perfect" 2-door fullsize SUV?
  7. Good? Bad? Trouble prone - stay away from them? Found a really nice looking Black with Black leather '99 Concours with about 52K... waiting for an e-mail on the price. Edmunds says all the techno-gizmos can be a problem, however 6 owner responses report no gizmo problems and most have over 60K. Is the Northstar 4.6L V8 a good engine? Coolant problems? I know NS V8s are known to consume oil or have oil leaks... is this a big concern? Car looks similar to this one: Someone is very interested in buying my Malibu... if I can find a good replacement vehicle that my wife deems "acceptable" and affordable, then I might get rid of the 'bu. If the AURA was available now, I'd check the lease price on an XE or XR model - but not sure how long this buyer will wait. Anyway, as usual any info is greatly appreciated!
  8. From Autoshopper.com CHEVROLET '98 Tahoe LS Sport, 72K (Philadelphia, PA): http://www.autoshopper.com/viewfull.asp?ID...&FromSearch=Yes '97 Tahoe LT, 95K (Fairless Hills, PA - Bucks County): http://www.autoshopper.com/viewfull.asp?ID...&FromSearch=Yes '97 Tahoe (BASE), no mileage listed (Philadelphia, PA): http://www.autoshopper.com/viewfull.asp?ID...&FromSearch=Yes GMC None found From Autotrader.com: GMC 1997 Yukon SLE, 88K (Philadelphia, PA - PRIVATE OWNER) 1997 Yukon link CHEVROLET 1996 Tahoe LS, 67K (Wilmington, DE): 1996 Tahoe link 1997 Tahoe (LS or LT?), 81K (Spring City, PA): MIGHT BE A BARN-DOOR SETUP! 1997 Tahoe link Good luck! :AH-HA_wink:
  9. Camino, just remember that the YUKON 2-door stopped production in 1997 while the Tahoe continued on until 1999. Good luck with the search - I'll be real jealous if you end up with a Yukon 2-door! Two summers ago I found a '95 Yukon SLE with about 65k onthe clock. I waited a few extra days to take the drive up north Jersey and it was gone! I was pretty sure I would have driven it off the lot (this was about a year before I decided to buy the SKY). A used car dealership near my Saturn dealer had a tan colored '99 Tahoe 2-door with 71K - but this was back in April and it sold soon after I saw it. When I lived in Bordentown, this guy in a nearby neighborhood had a '96 Yukon GT (maroon) with the chrome '99-'00 Denali rims - pretty sharp looking truck. He's older, so maybe one day soon he'll plan to sell it I'll keep my eyes out for you for anything available over here in southern NJ.
  10. Anyone have some good pics of the TB SS to post here?
  11. Got mine today too... sent the e-mail months ago when it was posted here. Okay shirt, will be good to wear outside in the sun while washing the "fleet".
  12. I'd go with the two-tone color, but in a more conservative fashion. I was quickly looking for a picture to post with this, but couldn't find one. But here's what I was thinking: the 1978 Chevy Malibu Black Sterling showcar.
  13. Hey Walt, I wonder if they'll sell it? It would be quite the conversation piece if placed into someone's garage. The Olds dealer in the town I grew up in got rid of all of their Olds stuff (either gave it away, salespeople took it, or god-forbid, they threw it all away int he garbage). Thanks for this picture; it ranks up there with the Olds dealership sign Sixty8 posted a few weeks ago.
  14. Nah Sixty8, that's where you're wrong. The Saturn SKY is meant to be a second or third car in a household!
  15. Well, GM needs to STOP ADVERTISING the fact that Dex-Cool can last 5 years or 150,000 miles. Apparently it can't if GM Techs and GM dealership mechanics tell people to change it at 50k or 75k. This is where I have the problem. Most average joe's don't maintain their cars right anyway. So if you're that type of person and sold a vehicle on the fact that the platinum tip spark plugs can go for 100k and the coolant can go for 150k, but problems develop at 20k, 50, or 75k - whose to blame? GM, that's who. I'm a devout GM-koolaid drinker here, but come on! If people are told things last that long, then they should. If GM wants you to change it at 50k, then stop ADVERTISING a much longer life span. I too hate all of these lawsuits, but if GM is doing something wrong then someone has to "let them know".
  16. I forsee the OUTLOOK replacing my '05 Envoy when that lease expires in 2008. Well, that is unless I find the GMC Acadia to be better looking than the OUTLOOK. The wife and I like the Enclave, but I think it will be priced the highest of the three crossovers.
  17. Just get a SATURN and everything will be fine again! Glad to read that you're okay... ya know you're going to be a father now so be careful out there driving whatever it is you're behind the wheel of.
  18. I'm curious as to what Saturn dealership you work for (name & city) - PM me if it's not okay to advertise it here (admin?). My Saturn dealership has delivered 5 SKYs already, with 13 more having been ordered. They've sold their entire allotment for the year! Just about every Saturn dealership has, from what I've gathered from A SKY forum I visit. I'm surprised your dealership still has allotment. Again, if the admin here will let you post the dealership you work for, I'd like to know. And you're right about the customer complaints - I've heard them too. But for those of us in love with the car and using it as a second or third vehicle (meaning - nondaily driver), then we can somehow overlook those issues.
  19. Sorry BV, I didn't ignore you on purpose. Here's the latest - the used and new car hunt is temporarily suspended. I think the wife is trying to drive me crazy. She goes on this rant about our finances, especially how three car payments and their insurance to boot will "kill" us financially. She says we have to get rid of a car (which is impossible b/c her 64-mile roundtrip commute would kill the Envoy lease) or find a car with a lower monthly payment. When I tell her what we can get NEW for the amount of $$$ she wants, she then suggests used. Now yesterday she asks when the Malibu will be paid off - I say probably in two years. So know all of a sudden it might be better to pay a little more now to not have a car payment in two years (aka --> no new car when the Malibu is paid off). So I'm sorry to be a burden here. I have no idea what she'll say next! Moving on.... the 'bu has almost 36K on the odometer and the Bridgestone tires are crap. They're pretty much worn down and I need to start shopping for new tires. Any help here? I'm thinking of going with Goodyear because I've always been satisfied with those in the past. But tire shopping is not my area... where should I start?
  20. I'd like to know how the title under the avatar picture can be changed. I noticed SOME people have custom titles, while many OTHERS use a canned title. Is it possible to pick out what the title says?
  21. Sixty8, any pics of the 1969 GMC 3/4 ton pickup??? If yes, I'd like to see what you got.
  22. I'm also considering '99-'00 Olds Intrigues. The Century is a nice, comfortable car with a dependable 3.1 V6, and that's why I'm considering it - but I'm sure the wife will be turned off by it's "old person's car" appeal. Same with the Lesabre - but I know they're dependable and reliable cars. That '94 Pontiac Bonne SSEi really has caught my eye, but I don't know how reliable all the electronic gizmos will be in another year or so. Whatever we get, it has to last 2-3 years or until our finances get in order and maybe another new car payment can be considered. The SKY is putting us over, but it's a toy I've been waiting for for a LONG time so it's going no where Right now I'm not making a move until I find something that makes me want to get it, or until the Malibu becomes too much to handle financially witht eh SKY and Envoy payments.
  23. Congrats 76ChevyTrucker I know how you feel - it was just a mere 9 months ago that my wife gave birth to my son (I'm also a step-dad to Anthony, my wife's 12 y-o son). It's a great feeling having an infant around that looks at you with those big eyes and smiles. It's even better when they learn how to say "dad" (really it's da, but comes out as da-da). For years I was nervous about having ababy - after Justin, I no longer have any fears! Congrats again and I look forward to the post about your newest addition!
  24. I would love if someone published a book all about Oldsmobile concepts, mock-ups, drawings and the like. It would be really great to see what Oldsmobile was working on for this decade before they were told they were being dropped. I'm sure there had to be NG Alero, Bravada, Intrigue, Aurora, and other designs in the works. I'd definitely buy this book. For those with info and pics, please post more. I am totally into this thread and can't wait to find out more.
