  3. I've wanted my wife's '08 G6 Sedan's taillights to be darker for quite some time now (funny, I was just talking to her about this two weeks ago). Skill level would be very low, so I'm not sure if the dark tint film would be the way to go or not for me. I don't want something as dark as the link above shows, something not as red as the currently are and more in line with Pontiac's of the '80s & '90s (usually the GT models had darker taillight lenses).
  4. I saw one of the new RAM ProMaster vans in white on 295 North today going to work. It was a low-roof model and was quite boxy in shape.

  7. A lot of forum chatter wants the 4.3L EcotTec3 V6, but GM has stated in the not too distant past the full-size and medium size pickups will share nothing. Many are banking on the updated 3.6L V6 engine to be the top offering. Rumors abound from here to there, we'll know for sure next Wednesday around noon (EST). This is the official teaser released by GM in early August: There's tons of camo'ed pics on the Internet, but nothing concrete that GM has shown. It's safe to say that the exterior panels will be different from the Global Colorado (mainly from the A-pillar forward), and that a longer bed will be offered/used (longer frames) too. Next Wednesday, November 20th, 9:30AM PST (12:30 EST) all will be revealed! Go here that day to watch the reveal live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XkUGs-OEE4&feature=youtu.be
  8. I like it better than the Ford Escape. Close friends of ours took delivery of a leftover 2013 Escape Limited AWD and love it; I'm sure this will do well for Lincoln.
  9. The US has been clamoring for this model, send the last few year's worth overseas. It will give buyers who want one the last chance to get one too... and will help keep the factory going.

  11. The new Canyon/Colorado trucks are suppose to be on sale in Q4 2014 as 2015 model year trucks. I'm expecting to see roll-outs mid-to-late summer, similar to the full size pickups this year. I'm sure regular cabs will be in the offering, at least initially, mainly for fleet and commerical sales targets. The old Ford Ranger's absence from the marketplace may be the reason why companies consider a regular cab (I see many fleet and work truck regular cab Colorado's on my daily commute to work every day on Route 295 & Route 1). There is a regular cab model sold in teh global markets, so I wouldn't expect GM to cancel that model just yet. We all know that retail sales will be mostly extended and crew cab models. Sadly, there is no mention of the Canyon debut. I went to the LA Auto Show site this past weekend to see who had press events scheduled, as rumors months ago indicated that GM would debut the trucks in LA. I found that Chevy had a press event scheduled on Wednesday, November 20th from 9:30-9:55 AM PST. Either GMC will be included at the same time or GMC will debut it separately from the Chevy event but within days of the Colorado's showing.
  12. Remember, sales of the Avalanche fell considerably over the 10-11 years it was offered for sale. Of course GM didn't refresh them, along with the pickups and SUVs, but some Chevy stores were having a hard time selling them. Factor in that GMC was not given a version (still can't understand why Cadillac received a version over GMC?) and now you really limited its appeal (remember, GMC buyers aren't likely to consider Chevy Trucks that easily). The Avalanche had it's core fans/buyers but they were not buying a new Avalanche every year or two, were they? Also factor in that every Avalanche produced was one less Suburban - apparently those still sold well over the Av's lifetime. monaroCountry has a great point - the Holden is sold in many markets and does not need one country to support 10s of thousands of units to make a go of it. Where else was the Avalanche sold outside of North America? I think if the Avalanche were to return, it should be based on the new Colorado/Canyon platform - just my though.
  13. Congrats on the new Cruze, though I like the Silverado better!! As you already know, you'll be happy with the Cruze and the savings it will bring. But you're gonna miss that 6.2L V8, especially since right now GM is having issues with supplies of the new EcoTec3 6.2L V8 (demand outpaces supply).

  15. Flo would have had your back covered by now!
  16. Took a sick day today and on my way to my doctor's appointment a mid-'60s Chevy K-20 4WD crossed my path. Original patina, modern lift and oversized tires: (*sorry for the crappy picture)
  17. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Live it up today
  18. I absolutely hate the term "double cab". To me double cab = crew cab, not an extended cab (which half a crew cab is). GM should have stayed with extended cab regardless of the way the door opens. It's been extended cab since they came out in 1987 as new '88 models. Why change that now?
  19. I think they should have went with yellow - throw back to the old late '70s C-series trucks (and would have looked better with the gold bowtie):
  20. Personally, I could care less if Hummer was sold by GMC or Chevrolet Trucks - as long as Hummer continued on is all I cared about (was really looking forward to the H4 coming out; based on the Hx Concept). This would have finally given GM a Wrangler competitor. GM should have done this from the get-go - tag it along with an existing truck brand rather than create yet another brand to market. Plenty of Chevy dealerships already existed, and if you wanted lower volume/higher transaction prices then putting it with GMC dealers would have made more sense. I was a big fan of the 'new' Saturn - I had both a 2007 SKY roadster and a 2007 AURA XE sedan. I was really into the Outlook out of all the Lambdas too. Pontiac has been in my blood a long time and I've had several; they started to loose me with the Aztec and Grand Prix (2003) but the late 2000s models were winning me back (Solstice, G8).
  21. Welcome aboard!! What kind of vehicle do you own?
  22. ocnblu makes some good points. While I have a place to store it, it would not be indoors. That includes when I go to restore it. I can't store the entire frame in my townhome's garage (too long), so to invest time and money into restoring the mechanicals only to have to leave it outdoors (even covered). Ultimately tonight, I have decided against pursuing this '55 GMC. It pains me because I can see the potential in this truck, 1955 is my ideal year for a classic GMC truck, and the truck still moves under it's own power so that's a bonus. A half-ton pickup (or even a panel/Suburban) will be the focus of my search from here on out.
  23. Cool! Thanks for posting, Bill. I like the new 2015 GMC Yukon, but would still pick the Sierra over it.
