I read somewhere recently (maybe on Buick's website?) that the benefits of the heated windshield washer fluid aren't limited to winter usage only. It stated that the heated fluid would also help clean the bugs and road grime off the windshield better in the summers months. I try not to use my washer fluid in the summer b/c all it does is smear the dead bugs all over the windshield!!!

Oh, I know there's a differentiation with the taillights. I just think GM should have designed a separate tailgate that matches the Sierra styling rather than cut corners and have the two share one design. I just think a flat panel would have been better suited on the Sierra rather than the bumped out Silverado version.

I posted over in the "High Resolution Pictures" topic this comment, but wanted to share it here also... look around in the second & third rows and int he background and you'll see the HEAVY DUTY versions!!! Hey TED, can you zoom in on the red Sierra in the second row? It's located in between the red Sierra crew cab & brown Silverado in the front row. That red Sierra is defintely a HD version - you can see that the front hubs are sticking out of the wheels, there's an additional air intake opening in the bumper, running lights on the roof, and it has the trailering mirrors. Plus next to it is a silver Silverado W/T model too! If you want to see the Silverado HD, look in between the black Sierra Denali & blue Silverado VortexMAX in the front row and there's a silver Silverado HD along with another (silver) Sierra HD to it's left.

Umm.. hello???? Has noboby noticed alll the HEAVY DUTY pickups in this picture??? Just look in the background... there's even a red Sierra 3500 (1-ton) pictured - look in-between the red Sierra & brown Silverado in the front row on the right - you can even see the hubs sticking out of the front wheels and running lights on the roof!!! I'm so in love with the new Sierra. The Malibu will be paid off by the middle of 2008; I just have to convince the wife that a 4th vehicle is really necessary!!!! Hey Fly, you mentioned months ago that the SPORTSIDE (stepside) bed option was returning... anyone have any info on when it will debut?

You're righht Satty... maybe that's why I like the 2006+ Monte Carlo's (seriously). At my son's Pop Warner football practice last night, someone dropped their kid off in a brand new 2006 M/C SS in silver with the polished rims. I gotta tell you that I think that car looks beautiful! My parents bought a new '95 M/C LS and kept it until 2005... I never really liked the headlight design on the '00-'05 M/C's, but with the MCE for 2006 it has definitely caught my eye. The only thing I noticed on that silver M/C SS is that it has a body-colored bodyside molding, which I didn't think they came with anymore. I'm going to try to get a picture of it tonight (assuming they bring it with them again).

The red lettering is the Vortex Max badging.

Here's the Sierra SLE interior (what a lot of you have called the "Work Truck" dash): And WTF? Chevy gets a LARGE bowtie emblem for the middle of the tailgate and GMC keeps the letters (small) in the right rear corner still???? Well, I've owned the car for 33 months now and it has never been cleaned, so I will say YES, there's a lot of accumulated dirt Where do I go to have the engine steam cleaned? Anything I should be aware of when getting this done? For example, is there any components on the LX9 3500 V6 engine that need to be protected/covered before getting cleaned?

Hey, I own one and that's the only one I've seen! I have not seen any others on the roads YET. I'm now starting to see more Solstices though.

Guys - you're hurting my feelings here: all these Silverado pics and almost no Sierra's? Come on now - I need my daily fill of GMCs!!!! TED - that's one awesome looking truck you have pictured.... is that an official GMC picture??? The Stealth Gray Metallic (pictured on the Sierra Crew Cab) has become one of my new favorite colors by GM and looks great on that Sierra Crew Cab. Derek77 - do you have a link to the launch website for the GMC Sierra??? I'm very excited about the new GMC Sierra. I forsee one in my driveway by 2010

ANy tips on how to clean a modern engine? I used to clean the 3.1 V6 in my '92 Cavalier Z24 all the time with no problems. Then I bougth a '95 Pontiac T/A back in April of '98 and washed the engine once - it wouldn't start for over an hour afterwards (I guess it had to dry out). So I've stopped doing this task when cleaning my cars but miss the beauty of a clean engine bay (I spent about a day & a half cleaning the 'bu recently - but the engine is still horrendous). I'd like to clean-up both the Malibu's 3500 V6 and the Envoy's 4200 I6. Any suggestions and/or recommendations???

Spent about a day and a half on a neglected car (hasn't been this clean in two summers! ) - my 2004 Chevy Malibu LT Sedan. Now not only are the interior and exterior in showroom new-like condition, but the wheels, wheelwells, tires and rims have also received a thorough cleaning (and wax on the rims for the extra protection & shine). I guess BV's point that everyone is missing is that he has to buy PREMIUM GAS for his Mazda. He's paying more at the pump than he wants to and feels that if he had a small, more fuel efficient car that took regular he'd be saving on both ends.

Mike, I bought a new 2004 Malibu LT Sedan with the 3.5L V6 back in November of 2003. To date I have not had one complaint or warranty issue with the engine - as of my drive in to work today, the car has 38,809 miles on it. I average about 26.1 MPG with a mix of interstate highway and around town driving. The pickup and passing power are still great and I have not been disappointed with this engine (I've owned GM vehicles with the 3.1 and 3.4 V6 engines before too). I have changed the oil between 3,500 & 4,000 mile intervals (usually when the Oil Life Monitor gets to around 50%). Again, there have been no warranty issues with the engine. What did I have warranty issues with? Electric Steering (actually a voluntary recall on the very early models), one of the two horns shorted out, brakes warping way too early (26,000 miles), driver's seat frame broke (where it mounts to the floor), and the relay in the trunk that acutates the trunk release button (on the key fob and on the door panel) had to be replaced. I will say that the Bridgestone Insignia tires on mine are pure crap - I noticed around 35,000 miles that they were already wearing out; what sucks is I have them rotated every other oil change. It seems as a lot of Malibu & MAXX owners have changed over to Goodyear Assurance ComforTred tires and are not only happy with them, but noticed an improvement in ride, handling & performance with the car. I'm a teacher so when I return to work in Septemeber is when I plan to replace mine with these Goodyears. If you have any other questions about the Malibu, I'll be happy to answer them.

Back when they were new for '92 I was in love with them. My personal favorite is the 1995 model year; however, any SSEi from '93-'95 would do ('92 had the crappy woodgrain applied to the dash - removed for '93). There's a local "buy-here-pay-here" used car dealership that has a white with white rims (my favorite combination!) '94 SSEi with 115K on the odo. I'd really take a look at it if it wasn't for the stuff I've heard about the owner of the dealership. Here's some pics: When the '96 model was introduced, I lost interest in them due to the esign changes. When I was selling new B-P-G's in '99, a customer of mine towards the end of August had to have a '99 SSEi fully loaded in the dark red with camel tan interior. I had to go on a dealer trade for it - I hated the interior color! It was a 45 minute drive and I couldn't wait to get back to the dealership I will say though that the car rode, handled and performed great (I just couldn't get over the MCE design changes made for '96). Also at the time I knew what the 2000 Bonneville SSEi was going to look like, and personally I would have waited. But this guy really liked the look of the '96-'99 SSEi. Maybe I'll go checkout that white '94 SSEi this Sunday (when the dealer's closed!).

It's sitting in the garage with 660 miles on the odo (I took it to work today!). Love it still with a passion - although I wish the wife and I could get out in it more. I knew going in that this car wouldn't see much drive time; I figured I have no mechanical skills to do a restoration nor a bank account to afford someone to do one for me - so my only course of action was to buy something new and keep it until IT becomes a classic So the less miles the better, right? I do take it out at least once a week and in it's three months with me it's only been in one rain storm. Oil change? The Oil-Life-Monitor says that there's 96% oil life left, and the Service Manager said it doesn't need to be done every 3 months/3,000 miles. Although it is a new engine & I plan to keep this car a LONG time, I was thinking the oil will be changed when it hits it's first 1,000 miles. Be patient my fellow C&Gers... I've been asked to write a review of the SKY and I will start it this week. I will also try to include some more pictures of it - including the interior.

I decided to check out the 2007 Sierra online ordering guide and look at what two options I found: (ABV) Power windows in the rear access doors (Extended Cab only) (A48) Power rear sliding window FINALLY!!!! I think I can see a 2008 or 2009 GMC Sierra Regular Cab 4wd in my driveway Regarding the two different interiors shown, the first one is labeled LTZ interior and the second one (buckets with console) is labeled LT interior. I'm pretty sure the W/T (base), LS and LT will all use that truck-ier design while the LTZ gets the SUV dash.

Well, it appears as if the base (W/T), LS and LT will share the same dash design and the LTZ will use the GMT-900's dash. I actually like the LT and lower trim dash - it's more of a truck design. And rightly so, as those that buy the LTZ trim are the ones most use to car designs. And I highly doubt that the NAV system will be an available option for the W/T models - but those buying a LT might prefer it. I really dig that new Sierra's front-end design. I really like how big the ruby red GMC letters are too. Here's to hoping that GM did it right and placed equally large ruby red GMC letters/emblem in the middle of the tailgate.

I checked the site out - not much on there. I see Buick is offereing 0% interest; however, the term is limited. Without having to call a dealership, does anyone know what the term limit is for theNortheast Region (specifically on the Lucerne and LaCrosse)???

I too like the G5 more than the Cobalt. I just wish that Pontiac offered the G5 in coupe AND sedan format for those of us needing to get into the back seat on a daily basis.

Split grilles - Pontiac's trademark ever since 1959, but was not featured on the 1960 models.
