  1. GM stated in the press release the the N/A Colorado and the Global Colorado only share the roof and some nuts/bolts. I assume by their meaning of "roof" they mean cab & doors, as Cubical's post above shows how they are the same design in this area (the global Colorado has added trim on the lower door that the N/A version does not).
  2. I like the added fender flares that the LT Extended Cab 4WD shows: Though I would say they align more with the GMC Sierra than they do with the Chevy Silverado:
  3. Now release the GMC Canyon!!! Don't make us GMC enthusiasts wait another two months GM I'm really surprised the twins weren't shown together in LA - like they did with the full-size pickups last December. I like the Colorado and it's definitely captured my interest in this size offering - but I wouldn't go for it (I'm a GMC guy afterall). But I need to know as soon as possible whether to plan for a Sierra or Canyon purchase next year - can't do that until I see what the Canyon looks like
  4. Thanks for the extra pictures, Drew. I'm liking the backend design too now that I can see more of it clearly. I see something in the bed (bed divider?), rear camera in the tailgate handle, and different rims from the other pictures posted all over the Internet. In the interior shot, I see that the full-size model's toggle switches have been shared with the Colorado. Many are saying that the steering wheel and gauge pod look very similar to the 2014 Impala's style/design. I will say that the 2015 Colorado has been receiving a lot of attention the past several hours since these leaks went out! I want to see the non-monochromatic versions; the all-painted models are nice, but I like my trucks with some tasteful chrome.
  5. Another forum has an interior shot (dash), additional frontal shot and a rear shot posted of the 2015 Colorado. Personally, I like the way the red extended cab Thailand-version Colorado looks, all off-road based (sort of like the old S-series ZR2/Highrider pickups): Though there are several differences in the styling of the Thailand Colorado and the N/A Colorado, I like the stance of the Thailand off-road version. Here's hoping that's what a production Z71 looks like.

  7. I feel your pain with regards to the [rumored] no regular cab, but your last Colorado was an extended cab remember! Of course the lack of a manual transmission is upsetting to many too (on other forums I visit). Are you disappointed that the diesel is [rumored] to be a 2015/2016 item? I'm disappointed that the new EcoTec3 4.3L V6 is not the truck-tuned engine in the new mid-size pickups - it seems more truck-oriented for the small pickups than the 3.6L V6 used in the sedans & crossovers.
  8. It may just be me, but I'm seeing a lot of the '98-'03 S-series (S10/Sonoma) pickup styling in this new Colorado. Now that's not a bad thing, as I dearly miss my 2001 GMC Sonoma SLS Highrider. I can't wait to see the GMC Canyon; hoping the rumors I've heard of a January debut (North American International Auto Show) are just that - rumors. I hope GMC doesn't make us ruby red fans wait too much longer.
  9. Too bad I'm a stickler for the year I want ('55-'66), as this late '40s/early '50s version is in great shape: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/pts/4145230724.html

  11. I now have a new hunt to go on!! I found a tailgate like that earlier in the year (wasn't for sale as it was on a makeshift trailer) but if I knew then what I know now, I'd have stopped and asked. Once the hunt's done, I'll have to restore the tailgate (myslef, which will be an interesting project) and then find a welder looking for a custom project to make-up a bench seat frame for it. Do I go all retro and stay industrial (using all metal), or do I go rustic and find wood for the seat?
  12. Awesome! I can't wait for tomorrow's reveal. Hopefully other trims than the Z71 are shown (I'd like to see what the LT 'chrome' model looks like). Still patiently waiting for the Canyon's debut...
  13. Yahoo Autos has this really interesting article on actual car (truck and tractor) parts being transformed into every day furniture. Read the article here: http://autos.yahoo.com/news/10-pieces-of-awesome-automotive-furniture-014620673.html I'm interested in the first showing, the blue collar reclaimed bench. I may seriously pursue looking into having something like this done for me. I'd like to find a '55-'66 GMC stepside tailgate, have it restored and then converted into a bench. What automotive-related piece of furniture would you like to have?
  14. I agree with your last statement, SAmadei. Too me, many Ford's have an egg-shape to them, which is not very futuristic in my eyes. But that's what inspired me to address this issue with looking back at the Ultralite. I see a ton of compact and sub-compact cars on the way to/from work every day. I think GM is doing well finally in this market with the Sonic, Cruze and Verano. But they can be doing more. While the Sonic is nice, I can't say I find it nicer (on the eyes) than it's competition, plus there's the stigma of the interior being too basic looking (I've had Sonic, Spark and Fiesta rentals this year and I find the GM offerings lacking - see of gray for sure). The Kia Rio catches my eye, as does the Fiesta. GM's concepts always had style in my eyes, even if some of it was too far from production intents. The Ultralite would make a good offering for a fuel efficient commuter car with style. Of course trunk space would be needed, plus I don't know if the gullwing doors could stay. But here was a car offering 100 MPG 21 years ago! We have the technology to make this car happen today - why keep it shelved?
  15. for a very !! Enjoy the day to the fullest
  16. People say the same about the 2014 GMC Sierra looking like the Ford F-150... I don't see it but I'm sure there's similarities with all types of vehicles on the market. Turning radius on the GMT-360 SUVs is 36.4 ft... so 41 ft isn't too bad for a pickup truck (which will be longer than the SUVs for sure). The turning radius on the 2012 GMC Canyon Crew Cab was 44.3 ft, so they definitely improved it over the previous model.
  17. That's also posted on Chris's Facebook page
  18. Chris Doane's contribution (teaser): Link to article: http://www.worldcarfans.com/113111866295/2015-chevrolet-colorado-teased-yet-again That must be the Z71 model, with the projector headlights and gunmetal gray grille.
  19. Classic
  20. Apparently GM Media leaked some press information out today (which has been taken down already) and this is what a poster on another site stated he read about the 2015 Colorado (note to ocnblu - you may be slightly disappointed with one piece of the information):

  23. Still, it would be nice for GM during the next two-three years to sell the Ute here to those that are willing to purchase it. If they can find 3,000 buyers for the Chvey SS, they can find at least 2,000 buyers for a Ute.
  24. The GMC Canyon
  25. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yxaV8zdEu4 If GM was serious about maximizing fuel efficiency in a production model, why not revisit the 1992 GM Ultralite concept car with today's technological advances? Sorry, I was watching Demolition Man on TV this morning. I decided to Google more about this car and found the above YouTube video. This would seem to be a more viable option than going hybrid or electric. Food for thought!
