Oldsmoboi, you have to let me know how the SwapaLease works out and if you were satisfied with the process & experience.

Oldsmoboi, there are a ton of Saturn SKYs out there with that license plate... go figure, right?!?! It would be fitting though, as the wife has stated that the SKY purchase is really the limit for me (no more than 3 cars)... which sucks because there's easily a million more I could possibly see myself owning. The cost alone of auto insurance, not including the monthly car payment, is enough reason to not add any more to my small fleet.

Camino, I'll be there on Saturday (6/23) with the family in tow. After the show, we'll be driving back to Hershey to spend Sunday in the park. We always make this weekend a getaway with a trip to HersheyPark, and this year we're adding Dutch Wonderland (Monday) on the way home for the little guy. If you're there on Saturday too, maybe I'll bump into you. :AH-HA_wink:

Belvedere's aren't the only Plymouths buried in OK

Please, share your crystal ball with the rest of us... I want to know if I'll be around then too! -
Sorry to your post FOG, but I'm in the same boat as you. I've been trying to come up with a personalized plate for my SKY for over a year now with no luck. I don't have to renew the registration until 2011, so it's not like I'm in a time crunch situation. The wife has come up with a few suggestions, but I usually don't like them and she doesn't like mine (I thought I was going to go with DRKJEDI <Dark Jedi> to show my Star Wars side, but few liked it or knew what it meant). Jersey allows a maximum of 7 characters, so that has limited me some. The recent one I thought of, but can't get it to fit in 7 characters & still be able to understand, is "OUTCRUISING". Jersey also has a 9/11 plate that has great color and a great design for the American flag, but the maximum characters go from 7 to 5 with this plate. If anyone wishes to submit some for consideration, and of course still help out FOG in the process, I'd be appreciative too! :AH-HA_wink: P.S. -- If you'd like to see what your creation would look like on an actual plate for your state, click here for a great website to use (I go there all the time to see what my suggestions look like) - and that's where those two pics above came from.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all of the fathers at C&G. And a special "shout-out" to the father of C&G, Walt Keegan. Without your "child", many of us would have to rely on that other site for all of our latest GM news. And we might as well recognize the "Big Daddy" of the place, FlyBrian, for always keeping us informed and behaved. to both of you! Here I am with my pride and joy... And in a few hours I'll begin the day's celebration with breakfast (not sure if the wife's cooking something special or if the kids are taking me out). Hope all the fathers here enjoy their day!!!

It was a beautiful day in the Allentown area (well, that is until right around 4:45 PM when a lightning storm finally gave way through the dark clouds that formed a few hours prior) for a truck show. Just about every truck manufacturer from the beginning of automotive time was there, and it was awesome to be surrounded by nothing but trucks. It's late, it has been a long day, and I don't feel like going through all the pictures I took right now, so I'll post some tomorrow. However, in the spirit of Father's Day (which at this point I'm approximately 25 minutes into already), I will post this picture: There is nothing like taking a child to a car, or in this case truck, show. Especially when it's your very own child that has already developed a love for cars and trucks. Justin (22 months old now) so wanted to go with me this morning, how can I as his dad say "No"? He truly enjoyed seeing all of the different kinds of trucks and his favorite seem to be fire trucks. While at the MACK plant tour, a stop in the gift shop soon found him clutching a friction-powered plastic MACK truck. He held onto that truck ALL day and wouldn't let go. He really made my day, and Father's Day, by being there and enjoying something that I love to do. It's official - I have a "car show buddy"!!!

http://www.antiquetruckclubofamerica.org/f..._Show_Flyer.pdf Sponsored by the Antique Truck Club of America (ATCA), this show will be held tomorrow (Sat, June 16) at Macungie Park in Macungie, PA (not too far outside of Allentown). One of the highlights of this show is the free tour of the Allentown MACK Truck plant. I last attended this show in 2005 and took the free bus ride over to the plant. It was cool to see how MACK trucks are made, although the plant doesn't operate on the weekends. Of course there's a huge flea market full of truck stuff, and don't forget all the rows and rows and rows of nothing but trucks! I'll be taking my camera and will post pictures here sometime after I return. Wasn't sure if anyone else knew about this show or had plans to attend. This is one show where I know I will see a ton of classic GMCs. ATCA's website: LINK

Welcome to C&G Rick... you may know me as "GMguy74" over at skyroadster.com, but here I go as "GMTruckGuy74". Even though you missed out on the wonderful Wilmington tour, you & FlyBrian (Brian DeGreggors) still lucked out with the Saturn Advocacy Brand Board trip! -

Good, because I don't have the time nor cash to afford a drive over there, even if the SKY has a 4cyl!!!

Those Trofeo models are great looking cars. I wanted one of those badly back in the early '90s. Even when I got my driver's license ('91), they were too expensive still (like new) as used cars.

I'm sure Fly will fly up to Sixty8's to pickup the car, then drive it halfway home (Amtrak will do the other half). But Screaming Trees is right... you need to time yourself correctly in the Baltimore/Washington DC area on I-95. When I took 200 juniors to Kings Dominion in 2005 as their class trip, what we (motorcoach bus company & I) determined was a 4-hour drive became in reality a 6-hour drive from NJ to Richmond, VA. The bottleneck in the Baltimore/Washington DC area is what screwed it all up for the four buses. And congrats Fly... I kinda knew that you were gonna purchase this car when Sixty8 mentioned someone contacted him within 24 hours of his Craiglist posting! IMO, this car needs dressier tires... maybe thin whitewalls??? The soldi black just aren't cutting it for me.

thinking about selling my car to lease another... need advice.
GMTruckGuy74 replied to intrigued's topic in The Lounge
I know when I got my SKY (April '06), leasing was not an option. GM wants people to buy these as custom orders and purchase them, so lease prices (non-GMAC) were pretty high if someone posted the info over at www.skyroadtser.com. Feel free to check out and post your question (registration is required) at www.skyroadster.com; there are plenty of dealership employees that post there and they'd be better at addressing your questions. The fact that dealers don't carry an inventory of them (most are customer orders; if you happen to see any on a dealer's lot, it's most likely a cancelled customer order) also hinders GMAC from offering attainable lease programs. I'd check into this first before selling your car. I may be mistaken, but I think if a lease was offered, it would be expensive and not through GMAC. If you want to know anything about my SKY, feel free to send me a PM (it's not a Redline version though). -
Olds Guy, what else is featured in the "Chevy Thunder" release??? There's new a truck line out that features a topless '69 Blazer in yellow. If it was a different color that I found to be attractive, I would have dished the $4.44 (Wal-Mart) price for it. Big Bird Yellow - I was not feelin' it!

On eve of debut, Chrysler wonders how to promote new vans
GMTruckGuy74 replied to Flybrian's topic in Chrysler
Oh Chrysler, how wrong you are with that statement! I'm sure besides myself, there are plenty of people that know about your quality. -
That sounds like something I'd like to check into. Any negatives to having them buy your lease out, that you're aware of??? Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated!

I don't think it had a Dodge Bros. grille emblem on it... on each side of the hoods is an early '60s Tri=Power emblem... this 1933 Pontiac has a '66 GTO 389 V8 stuffed in there... the color is Indigo Blue (GMC Sonoma color from '99, the owner said) over black fenders. -
Happy Birthday!!!

Same as below, but now my student is looking at used '92-'97 2-door Yukons (and probably Blazers/Tahoes). We found a '95 Yukon SLE 4wd online that he's intetrested in - white w/ blue cloth interior, 107k, used car dealer is asking just shy of $7k. These were my favorites, so I'm gonna be sad if and when he gets it (why? Because I'm not the one buying it! ). Any suggestions on what he should look for when he goes to inspect it? I know '96 & '97s used the Vortec V8 engines... any real advantage over the earlier '92-'95 non-Vortec engines? Also the '92-'95s used the floor shifter to engage the 4wd system, whereas the '96 & '97s could have the optional push-button 4wd system. Any problems with either? TIA!
