  1. Okay, who else here was up at 12:01 AM, waiting outside (or inside) for the latest edition of the Harry Potter series??? I will admit that I was just as interested in it as my 13 y-o stepson is. I was just fine waiting until Saturday morning to go and pick up a copy from the local Target, but the main town next to me (Mount Holly) had a "Harry Potter" party in their historical village shops and I figured my money would be better spent keeping a small mom & pop bookstore alive, rather than lining another Big Box's coiffers. Anyone else here get one at midnight, or planning to get one soon?
  2. 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix, parked on the side of the highway FOR SALE.
  3. Camino, since I don't have the time to read it for myself, can you give a short summary on the topics that are being discussed?
  4. jessi_chan, I know that in NJ the police will ask you if you want to go to the hospital and if you decline, you must sign a waiver stating that you choose not to go at the time. It doesn;t mean you have no injuries, it just means that you refused medical care at the scene - so maybe the same is true where you live. I also know that in NJ, your auto insurance covers your medical expenses from the accident, and whatever isn't covered then goes to your primary healthcare coverage. You should definitely check into these issues with your insurance company pronto, and if DF has any pains, he needs to get checked out ASAP. The car loss is terrible, but deal with the human part first. Again, heed my warning about your personal items in the Prizm being stolen. Take whatever you own out of there real soon before someone "helps" you.
  5. I'd recommend another visit to the tow yard to retrieve your belongings before someone "assists" you. That's a common problem when cars are not in your possession while waiting for the insurance company to do their thing. Take everyone's advice and make sure any pains get checked out much sooner than later.
  6. As an owner of the current AURA, I'm not too impressed with this new design direction. I'll withhold my judgment until a more production-like photo is shown though.
  7. PCS, definitely post a review once you receive the book. I happen to love Pontiac's Grand Prix - the '62 is my favorite of all years. My mom had an '83 LJ for 10 years, and it was the car I learned to drive on. I loved the '95 GXP 300 show car (precursor to the '97 GP) and as a result we leased a 2000 GT sedan. I hope Pontiac doesn't retire the name for too long, as I'd like to see it return on a car deserving of the nameplate.
  8. It's going to be hard for Buick dealers to be luxurious in many locations, as they are being paired up with Pontiac & GMC. Eckenhoff Buick in Cherry Hill (NJ) was a stand-alone dealership and had that upscale look to it. They closed and the franchise was sold to Burns Pontiac-GMC/Hyundai (although they're next door in a separate building, they all share the same lot). Burns property is too small for three brands, let alone the newly added Buick brand. The building appeals to Pontiac & GMC buyers, but isn't upscale enough for where Buick wants to go. Land is expensive in NJ, especially for highway frontage (where they are now), so I don't forsee a move to a newer facitlity in the works. My local dealership, about 1 mile from my house, is based out of an old grocery store. The property is way too small, the showroom is a joke, and again since they have highway frontage now and land prices in my area are soaring, I don't forsee a move anytime soon. My point? A good majority of the Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealers are in older facilities (sales & service) with a staff (sales & service) not capable of dealing with a luxury-buying customer. This may prove to be the hard part of selling Enclaves to more Lexus/Acura/Infinity buyers.
  9. I'll admit that I ride up on people's asses when they're driving slow in the LEFT lane of a two-, three-, or four-lane highway. The left lane is the passign lane (aka "go fast" lane). I hate when people come over to the left lane or are already in the left lane, and traffic to the right of them is passing them! When I get blocked in, that's when I ride their ass until I "plow" them over into the middle lane Especially when there's a line of traffic behind me when I'm behind some a-hole going slow. The left lane is not for cruising; stay out!!!
  10. Okay, showing my lack of Internet acronyms... what does FTW mean/stand for? I'm guessing "For The Win"???
  11. Even though you're tempted, hold off until the new Camaro comes to market. If it has a B-pillar, which ruins the car for you, then at that point find something else to spend your $$$ on. Over the years I have encountered many "deals" that I thought I'd never see again, but that isn't true. As hard as it will be, I'd recommend waiting.
  12. I've had an '05 GMC Envoy SLT 4WD (SWB, 4.2 I6 - my sister has an '05 XL <LWB> 4.2 I6) for almost two years now... is there anything that you want to know specifically? Just ask...
  13. Am I the only one to get this??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8L5CsbugSQ...ted&search=
  14. Not trying to steal your thunder away, but for reference here's the Olds Fiesta (1957):
  15. Cool '57 Buick toesuf94! You just got to love the color combo, it's pure 1950s Americana. One of my favorite cars is the '57 Olds Fiesta (Olds version of your car), and the Buick isn't too far behind. I'd love one of these wagons myself. I drooled over an episode of "My Classic Car", as both the '57 Buick and the '57 Olds were a major feature. Good luck with the car and post more pictures as you go along (we all want to see its progress).
  16. My wife just applied for a passport last night here in NJ. She's travelling at the end of September to her compnay's headquarters in Denmark, so she had to get it expedited (meaning 6-8 weeks instead of 10-12 weeks, at a wonderful additional $60 fee). I told her to keep on top of it, as it will come just in time for her trip.
  17. I too will be in the market next year when our '05 Envoy lease is up. The GMC Acadia (SLT-2, AWD) and Saturn OUTLOOK (XR, AWD) is what I'm considering, although the wife does like the Enclave too. Being that I am going to purchase instead of leasing, I want a pretty well loaded AWD model. So I'll be in the $38-$40k sticker range BEFORE I factor in my GM Supplier pricing or my GM Card earnings (depending on which deal is better). So far I'm leaning more to the Acadia, but who knows where I'll lean in a year?
  18. The wife and I went on the Disney Cruise Line for our honeymoon back in 2001. I'm not much of a "cruise ship"-type of vacation person, but I'd definitely like to go back on the Disney Cruise Line again.
  19. Welcome to the AURA family! Went to the Jersey shore tonight in the AURA (to Seaside Heights, less than an hours drive from where I live) and I'm just as happy with it now 8 months later as I was when I drove it off the dealership's (retailer's - hahaha PCS!) lot. Post those pics soon and best of luck with it.
  20. Tough break PCS (no pun intended). It's ashame your vacation had to end early. Keep taking those pain killers as prescribed and take it easy over the next several weeks/months.
  21. Oh, and the article has a typo... "Ironhide" is based on a modified (by Monroe) GMC 4500 Topkick, not a 6500 (the hood/headlights are the dead-giveaway); but to prove it, here's a GM photo of the hood emblem:
  22. Like I have to say that I want one!
  23. Go GMC!!! It's great to see that GMC can expand into car-like territory (unlike Jeep) and be rewarded for it. I forsee an Acadia SLT AWD in my driveway within a year from now. :AH-HA_wink:
  24. Again, thanks for all the replies... I'm passing your info on to my friend to aid in his decision making. Now another question... anyone know of websites that give detailed information about the 2002 Intrigue Final 500 edition? I found some pictures online, but no site that lists what model the Intrigue 500 is (GL or GLS?), what equipment was standard, what options were available, etc. Any help will be appreciated!
  25. I saw it Monday night at 9:00 PM.... all of the theaters in my area started showing it beginning at 8:00 PM on Monday, July 2nd. I'm sure others here saw it on Monday too. Great movie! I like how Blackout (Pavelow helicopter) and Barricade (Saleen Mustang police car) generated images of humans in the pilot/driver seats so that when driving, a "human" was seen behind the controls/wheel. I think they were the only ones that did that (although Bumblebee had Sam behind the wheel in many shots) - whereas Ironhide (GMC Topkick), Jazz (Pontiac Solstice), and Ratchet (Hummer H2) didn't <please correct me if I'm wrong>. It's also interesting to note that Michael Bay again sneaked in that old, abandoned buidling (theater?) from Detroit. He likes to use it in his chase scenes (The Island, Transformers) as being a building in downtown Los Angeles. At least in "The Island" it was acknowledged in the credits as filmed in Detroit; "Transformers" doesn't. It's nice to see one Decipticon get away at the end (spoiler alert: Starscream) - but what happened to Barricade? I'm assuming he's also still alive, as I don't recall seeing him die like the others at the big finale battle? It's ashame about the one Autobot not making it out alive (spoiler alert: Jazz/Pontiac Solstice). Originally I had wished he would have been a Saturn SKY, and did you see inside of the showroom parked next to the Solstice that Jazz scanned was a SKY, but seeing his demise I'm glad he wasn't! And I'm sure that the "All-Spark Cube" didn't kill (spoiler alert: Megatron) -- it will probably make him bigger & badder in the sequel!! Sorry for the spoilers, but you should have really gone out to see it by now!!!
