  1. Okay GM, either make the damn accessories available or stop dangling the carrot in front of the horse. Enough with all of this teasing since the non-HD Dale Earnhardt Jr. "Big Red" made it's debut a year ago with no promise by GM to make it available to the consumer.
  2. That's cool that you have an insider that can get you cool GM memoriabilia like that. If possible, can you take a pictre of that poster individually so I have a more clear record for my search? Any please take more of your collection... I'd definitely like to see what else you got. BTW, I've already searched eBay for that poster with no luck so far.
  3. Awesome pics of a beautiful Cutlass! I know it will be hard parking it for the winter, but just think of all the fun you'll have next spring. I saw something that caught my eye in this one pic you posted (it's the GMC fan in me): Do you recall where you got the 1999 fullsize pickup truck poster (sketches of the Silverado & Sierra)? I have a magazine article that featured those images, but have never seen them anywhere else. I will be searching high and low for that if I can even find one today.
  4. Well I can confirm once and for all that the SLE2 Sierra "All Terrain" model does feature the SLT's Luxury dash and not the regular WT/SL/SLE1 "Pure Pickup" dash. A GMC dealer about 30 mins south of me was indicating that they had (courtesy of GMBuyPower) a Stealth Gray SLE2 Crew Cab with the "All Terrain" package. I got a chance to see it at 7PM tonight (too dark for pictures), and it was definitely the SLE2 (cloth) and had the same dash as pictured on the website and hero card. I will say that the 18" rims and 4-bar chrome grille look much better in person! I will definitely keep this truck on my radar, although I'm still not ruling out a regular SLE2 Crew cab w/o this package.
  5. Here's one of the early sketches of the SSR, more or less based on the '37 GM truck designs:
  6. This is definitely good news for those of us seeking a wagon as our next purchase. I can't wait until GM announces that Pontiac (or Buick) will be offering this sportswagon in late 2008 as 2009 model year cars (I can dream, right?).
  7. *MOD NOTE: I moved this topic becuase it is better suited here than in the design section. Welcome Diane to C&G! We all have the one vehicle that we lust after, just for many of us it's a GM one. Maybe the new Saturns (nee Opels) will appeal to your European tastes???
  8. As for the Colorado replacement, there were some great looking retro-styled Chevy pickups being considered for the SSR before the '47-'52 models were selected. I think with keeping in this theme, a small, retro styled regular cab pickup, a'la Dodge M80, would be a great addition. Think of all the potential buyers who want a pickup for small errands and light hauling duty and will use it as a 2nd vehicle. Perfect vehicle for such a market. I think the HHR, a pickup, and a small sedan would be the perfect Scion-competition from Chevy. For good measures, add a small coupe if needed, but the three I mentioned already would be a good start. Not to detract from your point, but wouldn't these three "Chevy concepts", while not retro-themed, do the trick too? My only suggestion would be to keep the Groove (black) as the HHR replacement, keep the Beat (green) for the coupe offering, but get rid of the Trax (orange) and replace it with a small 2-seater pickup-ish vehicle on the same platform for something that none of the competition offers. They would be good to fight against Scion, be sold in an already exisiting and large dealer network, and give the General some small car offerings that look modern and American-inspired.
  9. Sixty-8, you have my sympathies and realize you're not alone here dealing with this tragic event (my wife miscarried October '03, only 6-8 weeks or so from finding out she was pregnant). We healed over time and eventually we got pregnant again. Time will heal these wounds and you'll two will make your dream come true. We're all here for you buddy, however you need us. Take all the time you need.
  10. That would be an interesting set-up, although I really like the "Work Truck" dash a little better myself. Anyone who sees an All-Terrain model on the dealer's lot, I'd appreciate you taking a look to see if it's the SLE2 model and what the dash looks like for us. kanima, do you think you could swing back by your GMC dealership and check out to see if any are SLE2 models? Plus pictures of this model in Stealth Gray would be awesome! :AH-HA_wink:

  12. My local dealer has 4-5 of them on the lot. A much larger B-P-G-H(ummer) dealership I visited last weekend had none. That's right, they were all sold out. Not one in the showroom, back of the lot, or parked inbetween the Acadias (or any other vehicle). I thought that was a little strange, seeing as how they are a "big time" GM dealership and should have at least one in their inventory. I guess they can't make them fast enough for certain dealers.
  13. Sorry K.C., I guess I should have been clearer in my request! I know what the SL & SLE's work truck dash looks like, I meant to ask if it showed a picture of the All-Terrrain's SLE dash (which only comes in the Ebony interior). I'm curious as how the titanium accents will look on that dash compared to the SLT's luxury dash as shown on the hero card.Welcome kanima! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I've been looking around my area for an All-Terrain model, but none of the GMC dealers seem to have gotten any in yet. I like the white one, although I'd probably go with the Stealth Gray myself.
  14. Sorry to hear about the accident, but congrats on the new truck purchase. Too bad it isn't a GMC though!
  15. I'm definitely the "target market" for this vehicle. Please GM/Pontiac, bring this over before summer of 2009 so I can purchase one (my AURA lease expires fall of '09; I like to get out of my leases early). I like the G8 Sedan, but would much rather have this Wagon instead. If Holden gets it in 2008, I want it no later than spring of '09 for Pontiac. This would do wonders for the brand and would help get Pontiac's name out there again. I will be more than willing to postpone my desired truck purchase for one of these wagons. Really.

    Crossings

I too love bridges and bridge design, but I have an immense fear over driving over many of the ones posted here. Thankfully I don't encounter many bridges where I drive; most are going over the Delaware River into Pennsylvania. I cross this one most going into PA - the Burlington-Bristol Bridge: It's a very tall and narrow two-lane bridge, but generally I have no problem crossing it. Unlike this one: The Delaware Memorial Bridge going into Delaware. I *HATE* driving across this bridge. Last time I had to was May 19th when I went to the Wilmington Plant tour. I had the SKY's top down on the way home and crossing this bridge topless just intensified the fear I have of this bridge. As for the Philly bridges, I generally can cross them without too much of a problem: Walt Whitman: Benjamin Franklin: Tacony-Palmyra: Betsy Ross:
  17. Camino, You've been PM'd!!!
  18. Excuse my ignorance BV, but when did you get a Cutlass??? And what happened to the Mazda???
  19. I was at a different GMC dealership this past weekend and they didn't have the Sierra brochure (but did have the All-Terrain hero card, which I already have). My local GMC dealership still hasn't gotten in the Sierra brochures either. Does it show the SLE work truck dash in the brochure, since the hero card shows the SLT luxury dash? I gotta find me one of these Sierra brochures ASAP!
  20. Camino, one must come to terms with age and realize that "shifting" for yourself and "feeling" the road are things that youth covet in an automobile. You must see that the Cadillac El Camino is a perfect transition car, giving you the benefits of half car/half truck transportation, while taking you to the final resting place on the roadway of life.I'm just messin' with you Bob! After the car show, I headed 2-3 miles north to Perrine Buick-Pontiac-GMC-Hummer to see what new 2008's were on the lot. I saw the Cadillac flower car when I first pulled onto the lot; I was about to leave and figured it would be funny to post that, since you're the resident El Camino fan here. As for the '70 SS, if it's perfect why not? You had a '70 and wish you still did, so why not at least call and see what the deal is? Maybe the owner needs to get rid of it and will be willing to meet your price. It's worth a shot... and seeing as how you may be waiting longer for the "all-new" El Camino, why not enjoy the time driving something you truly love? I know, I'm a trouble-maker! ocnblu, yes, that '65 Chevy appeared to have an "AS IS" warranty sticker on the rear door glass. I forgot to take some pictures of it before I left, and seeing it in the background of several pictures once I downloaded my camera at home is when I realized that fact. It is actually a Biscayne model, at least that's what the emblem said, and it had two tailights per side & is a post car. Pretty sharp looking, like it had work done in the past. Not sure of it's story, but it was parked on the lot.
  21. Went to a local car show on Sunday and found this '70 El Camino SS for sale: Black interior with bucket seats, 396 c.i. V8 was under the hood, and a manual trans shifter was visible inside. PM me if you'd like the phone # (sorry, no price info was available at the show). And just for Camino, I spotted this beauty at a nearby dealership (Walt's Pontiac dealership fyi)... I think as you're getting up there in age ( ), you should forget the Ute and get yourself one of these: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... At your age, a nice, comfoy ride and shifting done for you may be the best bet. Just messin' with ya man!!!
  22. From a very young age, I took a major liking to construction vehicles. I loved watching them at work and had a massive Matchbox/Hot Wheels/Tonka/Buddy L/you name the rest collection of construction vehicles in many different sizes. This was back in the mid-'70s into early '80s. I used to tell everyone that when I grew up I wanted to be a construction vehicle driver (operator, I learned later, was the correct term). That really pissed my grandfather and dad, as they wanted me to do something "better". Anyway, even though I'm now 32 y-o (almost 33!), I still have a love for all things construction and have turned my little guy onto this love too. While I haven't made it into much of an adult hobby yet, I took Justin to an antique power show (tractors and trucks) and was amazed at the painstaking restoration efforts taken by average guys on old Caterpillar tractors that they demonstrated (see attached picture). If I had the money and resourses, I'd love to have an old CAT tractor to play around with in the dirt! Maybe one day....
  23. Oh well, so much for not liking the maroon G0N. This past Saturday while shopping in a different Kmart, I came across the maroon one and bought it. I figured if I had the other three 2007 releases, I might as well as this one too!
  24. If the G8 wagon is offered by the summer of 2009, I may just have to delay my plans on getting a Sierra for one of these. I've love station wagons and could see myself owning a G8 wagon hands down. Come on GM, don't make us beg!!!
