  1. When is your lease up? Come on abaord, we'd love to have you as a new member!
  2. Of course, there's this 1980 Sierra K3500 Dually (out of my price range) that has been calling to me too: http://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/4255163909.html I havbe no need for a plow, and asked the seller if he'd sell it without (he replied 'no'). Thought maybe I could get the price down a bit that way too. I envision this from the '80 after it goes through some work:
  3. I envision the finished project to look something close to this:
  4. It should be no surprise that I look weekly for GMC pickups from two different generations: 1955-1959 and 1973-1987 ('89-'91 V3500). While most times the measley sum of cash available to me won't get me the trucks I find, it doesn't stop me from contemplating 'projects'. I present for discussion the following two '86 GMCs: http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/4234478112.html *Asking price: $1200 http://delaware.craigslist.org/cto/4267461741.html *Asking price: $700 I'd want to fix up the first '86 (C2500) and use the second '86 (K1500) to make one truck. Not sure but likely would keep the C2500 a 2WD. I'd use as many parts from the K1500 to fix up and upgrade the C2500, especially if the K1500's transmission is good. Anyone thinks this type of a project is way too big? I'm not saying I'm doing it, or even close to making that kind of decision. I saw two trucks that could potentially be one really nice rig and want some advise/insight.
  5. My company's holiday gift to employees this year is a FitBit. I've yet to open mine but my wife (also works for the same company) and many of my coworkers are using theirs to track fitness/exercise and sleep. I intend to open mine up this week and get it going.
  6. At the end of September, I was diagnosed as having Type II Diabetes (I was a heavy soda drinker) - I'm on oral medication (pills) at this time. Since then, I've dropped from 257 lbs to 239 lbs through diet alone (mostly by cutting out the sugar & drinking more water <diet soda still has a funny taste to me and if I have a can I can't finish the whole thing>). I realize the <20 lbs I lost was what the doctor calls "soda weight" and being 5'8" I still have some pounds to go before I am in a healthier range. I said I'd start using the dreadmill (aka treadmill) in the new year but here we are - day 9 of the year - and I've yet to do it. I go back to the doctor's January 24th for my first bloodwork since the initial screening (namely to see if my HbA1c has dropped) - but also to check my wieght loss (I went to the doctor's in mid-November and lost only 2-3 pounds since then). I lack the motivation for exercise, so a gym membership is out. The treadmill is something I will use, and the fancy one my wife bought a few years back will be fine (if I do lose more weight and gain exercise motivation, the fire station has an excellent workout gym I can use free of charge).
  7. Here's a new tease from GMC's Facebook page: You can see a bit of the headlight design (that's about it)...
  8. I recall seeing a 2013 Taurus SHO in that almost black-ish green color last February at the Philly Auto Show. Was it a SHO model? If yes, it could be a model specific color.

  11. LOL @ dfelt!! Bill was being sarcastic since he probably was expecting to see a picture of the actual Canyon
  12. casino
  13. I don't agree with that, dfelt. I love the Fisker Karma design and styling, but am not a huge fan of the electric drivetrain. I like what Bob Lutz is doing with the Karma (aka VL Automotive Destino) - putting the Corvette ZR1 powertrain into the Karma body. Now that's a dream car for me!
  14. This was posted on Twitter and Facebook yesterday: Logically, this is GMC's way of annoucing the 2015 Canyon

  17. Dear bobo, Thanks for another great end-of-the-year wrap up. I look forward to this every year (I've been here long enough!). I also enjoy being included in your review; I guess it's no mistake that I'm known for my dedication to GMC Maybe for the 2014 edition I'll finally get a classic GMC or a new model (or both! How lucky would that make me?) for you to write about. Happy New Year 2014 to you! GMTruckGuy74 (aka Roger)

  19. I agree... GM Trucks would be a good new title, or GM Trucks and SUVs if you feel it is more fitting.
  20. Sidebar: Was this Classic Chevrolet? A friend drove by recently and told me it was all closed up and the lot was empty. Almost bought a Torrent there. Seems like almost every car dealership I have come close to buying a car at is history now. Kerbeck is the only place I deal with (parts) that has thrived. Yes, it was Classic Chevrolet in Moorestown/Maple Shade, NJ. Closed at the end of January, demolished by the end of November - it's just an empty lot right now. A Super Wawa is slated to be built in its place, with room on the pad for a fast food joint to be added too. No construction started as yet, but it's been in the local papers pretty heavy the past couple of months so I'd say it will happen soon.
  21. Merry Christmas to all!! I'm hoping you are fully involved in the spirit of the holiday
  22. Thnak you, all! It was a great day spent with the kids and my wife, who capped the day off with a delicious homemade dinner (filet mignon, twice-baked potatoes, stuffed tomatoes) and presents!
  23. Moorestown is almost in my backyard!! $500 is a steal, but without titles God only knows the trouble it could cause to own them.
  24. I'm sure a North American retail model would have an interior similar to the Holden Caprice V interior:
  25. Here in southern New Jersey, I've searched many Chevy dealer's inventories (online) for used 2011-2013 Caprice PPVs with no luck (I check AutoTrader and would have to go to GA or IA). The only dealer in my area that was stocking both 9C1 and 9C3 Caprices closed in January this year; no other surrounding Chevy dealers (including the ones with large Fleet departments) are stocking Caprices in their inventory. I was hoping to find a dealer with some 9C3 models back in October/November with no luck - firgured they might find a loop-hole by the end of the year to move the product. 2014 isn't looking any better for finding local dealers with Caprices actually on the lot - at least the helps to open the door for discussion. Hence why I asked if anyone in the "know" had info on what could possibly be done with the Caprice for retail sales. I'm seeing more PPVs in use in both local and state PD fleets, but the Charger, Explorer and Taurus (aka Interceptors) make up the majority of new PD fleets. If GM wanted to I'm sure they could unload a lot of unsold PPVs into the retail market with some parts-bin add-ons like the green one above shows (the owner showed me all of the Holden-sources parts he installed on the Caprice since he bought it).
