  1. Well, my experience with a Saturn dealer is much better... I wasn't lowballed on my trade ('04 Malibu), I got GM Supplier Pricing without hassle, and they even searched 3 days to find a dealer - eventually found one in Maryland 135 miles away that would trade the exact AURA I wanted and that they had - and was a very easy in-and-out delivery. Not all Saturn dealers are horrible, though with the SKY some did turn out to be greedy (like Chevy & Pontiac dealers can be).
  2. Autoblog has had these four pictures of the Hummer Hx since December 10th (almost a month now!) and no one has made mention of them here: *Courtesy of http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/10/detroit...mer-hx-concept/
  3. I like it and would defintiely take the Hx/H4 over the Wrangler (and I too have always liked the Wrangler). Of course I'd like to see what the production-version changes would be, but I that doesn't change my overall impression of it. And for some reason, I can see this having a better "over-the-road" ride to it than the Wrangler. Don't ask me why though! And not only does that exploded view show the Hummer H3/GMC Canyon/Chevy Colorado steering wheel, it shows a more "production-like" gauge & dash. Take a look for yourself!
  4. Why don't they look into the Lucerne CX model? It is bigger than the LaCrosse, but the cloth is standard and I know the dealers around me usually have the CX models equipped with the bench seat. If the size is a concern, then I could see the reason for the LaCrosse interest. However, I feel that they should check the Lucerne out too.
  5. I'm rooting for the G8 wagon to get here (and for the ST for you Camino!). If I can't get the Sierra I really want in 2009/2010, then I want to get something else that I love almost as much - and a Pontiac station wagon could possibly fit that bill. Hopefully we'll hear something soon about these two G8 variants.
  6. Do what you need to do Diehard GrandPrix Fan, and comeback when and if you're ready. We should still be here. And a little Dr. Phil advice for you - realize that while you are passionate about the Pontiac Grand Prix, you're one of few here that have any respect for that car. I fell in love with the 1995 GPX concept car <showcasing the new-for-'97 Grand Prix> and eventually the wife and I leased one in 2000 ('00 GT Sedan). When the all-new-for '04s came out, I was impressed with the ride & handling improvements, but nothing else. GM/Pontiac lost me as a GP fan; that can be said for a lot of people, and especailly those that never liked the W-body cars at all. Now with the intro of the G8, many people are passionate about that car; I myself included. You come here, professing your love of the GP and your hatred of the G8 in many, many threads. While you're entitled to your opinion, you've come across to strongly and many here feel as if you just whine about the loss of the GP. Do what you need to do to get the car of your dreams, but realize that we here unfortunately cannot help you reverse GM's decision to rid itself of the profit-losing Pontiac W-body. Be a good contributor to the C&G community, not just a whiner. And I don't think anyone poster here goes to bed each night cursing the thought of you with their hatred! Best of luck to you in reaching your goals and in reorganizing yourself. Comeback when you feel like it.

  8. Any GMC Syclone ads Oldsomboi?
  9. ocn, some FYI - my local Toys R Us has a special Camaro Concept one in yellow with black racing stripes (similar to Bumblebee in Transformers) in both 1/64th and 1/25th sclaes. My local Wal-Mart has the Jada 1/18th coupe in Silver and Maroon. My local TARGET has only had the Greenlight coupes in 1/64th scale and another brand in about the same size.
  10. Now that the SKY is gone and we're on our way to getting back to financial stability, I may look for a Reatta myself in a couple of years. I'm jealous that you've got two now! Before I had put the deposit down on the SKY back in February '06, I was looking at a '90 Reatta coupe in red that seemed fairly well optioned too and had low miles for its age (75k). It needed some carpet and minor interior work, but the guy wanted $5k and the wife doesn't like the look of the Reatta (now I don't care what she thinks; too late for that Reatta though). There's a '90 coupe being offered locally in my newspaper... it states that it runs/drives well and looks good, but has an electrical problem. And a '90 Sixty Special Reatta convertible or a '91 Reatta convertible would be a cool car to find. Anyway, congrats on the 2nd Reatta/3rd Buick in your fleet. Keep us posted and the pics coming too!
  11. = 2005 GMC Envoy 4wd Well, I'm not majorly screwed though, seeing as how the lease officially ends on August 18th. But I know that GMAC offers the "pull-ahead" program from time-to-time and if gas prices start going through the roof, hopefully one of those programs will help us out. I don't want to say goodbye to the Envoy, but with the wife's 64-mile roundtrip commute everyday, her using the Envoy 2 or 3 times a week to travel to work just won't make good financial sense with higher gas prices, and her using the AURA solely will definitely consumer too many of our allowed lease miles (15k per year). So if it comes down to it, we'll just have to part earlier. Now the problem is the wife wants to look into getting a VUE. While I like the fact that she'd have AWD for bad weather days on her long commute, I know the VUE is heavy and not sure it would be the best vehicle for her to have concerning rising gas prices. She likes the CTS and said she'd be happy with a base model, but again my concerns about her driving a RWD-based car in bad weather is making me hesitant to get her one (she's never had a RWD car in her life). There's not too much else out there that she likes, and we both don't want to go to a "tiny" micro car. The upcoming Philly Auto Show will be an interesting one this year, as it will likely narrow down our choices for us.
  12. Since I only get the e-mail alerts and not the entire story, here's what the alert says: Mods - I hope it's okay to post that, otherwise I will delete this post.
  13. Camo'ed wagon must = G8 wagon (a man can dream, can't he?!?) The all-black Holden Maloo (Ute) on there reminds me of the original '91 GMC Syclone I just got the following Automotive News ALERT: GM cancels V-8 program for luxury cars
  14. I would so welcome the return of the American station wagon. I love them and if the G8 is available in a wagon when my AURA lease is up (Nov '09), I might just have to seriously look into getting one (especially if high gas prices are keeping me from getting a Sierra).
  15. You know, this is depressing me about getting a Sierra in a year or two. I know I don't need to have a Sierra, but that's what I want. It's not the most practical choice, but it's something I've wanted for a LONG time. If I can't afford to gas it up, then I can't get what I want then. And I;m not comfortable in small vehicles, so the next 1-2 years will be interesting for me.
  16. My suggestion that a Lambda pickup would be a good idea wasn't meant for those that need a real, BOF, full-size truck for work or pleasure purposes. Think of all those people that buy a full-size pickup just to use on the weekends to go "antique shopping". Something smaller, more fuel efficient, and offers a better (i.e. more car-like) ride may be exactly what that market wants & needs. I'd still rather have a Sierra myelf, and if all this CAFE talk starts to make changes happen sooner rather than later, I may have to find a way out of my AURA lease and into a Sierra much quicker than I planned.
  17. If money were not the object here, I'd choose the GMC Acadia hands down while the wife would definitely drive away in the Buick Enclave. While I think the Enclave is nice, it's not what I want; same goes for the wife, just in reverse (she likes the Enclave because of the Lexus-like styling). If the Lambda's were Chevy-Saturn-Buick and no GMC Acadia existed, I'd definitely go with the Saturn OUTLOOK over the Chevy Traverse and/or the Buick Enclave. There is enough of a styling difference between the GMC & Buick versions that makes it "okay" to sell them in the same building/showroom. Another example is that my sister & brother-in-law are currently looking at the Lambda's to replace their leased '05 Envoy XL. When they went to the dealership, they looked at the GMC Acadia because they both don't like the more expensive looks of the Enclave (they're also considering the OUTLOOK). No Enclave for them. Your scenario of the Acadia not existing would have the BPG dealer lose out on the sale.
  18. I'm sure I recall that at one point, GM was working on a Lambda pickup design. Maybe because of the new CAFE regs, GM will dust off those shevled plans and introduce these new "pickups" to the market? Those consumers that will need the full-size, BOF trucks will still be able to get them, but those that will only require the use of a pickup occasionally and/or want a more car-like ride & features, the Lambda pickups will be for them (much like now how those that need a Yukon/Yukon XL buy them, and those not needing those specific capabilities buy the Acadia/Enclave). I'm not making light of your suggestion, but we must realize that the GM we all love and know will have to adjust for the future. If that means more mainstreamed pickups coming to market that get better gas mileage and work for the majority of pickup buyers that don't necessarily need a full-size, BOF pickup, so be it. The Canyon pales in comparison to the Sierra, so maybe a bit larger but more efficient Lambda may take it's place in the market? I'll still going to do what I can to get a Sierra though!!!
  19. Having owned a 204 Malibu LT, I will say I am impressed with the all-new 2008 Malibu much more than I was with the overall design of my '04. I've been seeing many of the LT's on the roadways around southern NJ and I think they look great (however, the wife doesn't like them any differently). I still prefer the more athletic design of my AURA over the new Malibu, but think it's a great looking Chevy. I'm sure you're mom will be more than happy with it. My sister and brother-in-law finally gave GM a chance in March, 2005 when they leased an Envoy XL SLT (loaded). At my parent's last night, they told me they went back to the dealership to see what the price would be if they were to buy it outright now. The finance manager made the call to GMAC and came back with $24k (way too much). They love their Envoy XL and want to keep it, but the auction prices hover around $15-$16K and even this dealer had a used 2005 selling for $18 or $19K. So why won't GM "wheel & deal" to sell them their truck, rather than lose the sale and have to take it to auction? Getting back to the point, they looked at the Acadia's on the lot, but don't want to spend $40k+ for a new vehicle when they'd be just as happy paying around $16-$18K for their Envoy XL (if GM were willing to sell it to them at that price). They have two kids (nephew is 10, niece is 4) and they do use the extra seating when the kid's friends come along. My sister is concerned about gas prices, so she brought up moving back to a sedan, but my brother-in-law likes the added space and versatility of a SUV, even with gas price concerns. So for now they have 2-3 months time to wait it out until the lease ends, but who knows what they will end up with (their Envoy XL, and Acadia/Enclave, a sedan, or something else?). That orange Silverado is likely painted in the factory "Tangier Orange". It's a special order paint color that requires a dealership to place a minimum of five trucks ordered in that color. Usually that color is ordered for roadway departments (for example, the NJ Turnpike uses that color on all their trucks and orders from GM), so maybe that dealership was able to piggyback a stock unit for themselves on a fleet order? It also looks like they added custom rims to entice a potential truck customer to finish modifying the truck per their own requirements. Anyway, here's a link to the SEO paints on the GMC Sierra 1500 line: http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/NASApp/domestic/...ID=3&page=9
  20. For those of you that MUST have one of these Pontiac G8 hats, eBay is here to help you achieve your goal: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Years-Eve-2008-Tim...1QQcmdZViewItem Even though this is the only one on eBay right now, I'm sure with the thousands that were given out, more will appear on there soon.
  21. From the spy shots we've seen already (posted in the Hummer thread section), we know the H3T pickup will NOT be anything like the concept from 2004 and will NOT be a SUT like the bigger H2. It will be a 4-door crew cab pickup with a separate, shortened bed (likely 4 foot). Check out these threads for camo'ed spy shots: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=21283 http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=18728
  22. Oh yeah, they did. Just ask Camino about his experience ordering one!!!
  23. HAPPY NEW YEAR "2008" to my extended family here at C&G!!!
  24. HAPPY NEW YEAR "2008"!!! Of course the wife was flipping through about 8 channels or so broadcasting their new year's eve celebrations... and everyone of those channels showed the G8 on TV that I saw in person last night! And if you noticed, just about everyone in the crowd was wearing a red Pontiac G8 hat! Too bad they weren't giving them out last night. At least Pontiac seems to be promoting the G8 off on a good start... let's see how well it works out.
