Chevy Tahoe 2-door SUVs were produced until 1999 (GMC stopped producing the Yukon 2-door in 1997). I would have loved to see the traditional full-size 2-door SUV remain in the line-up, especially with the 2000 redesign (GM explored this concept, producing 3 red Tahoe 2-doors, in addition to the K-5 Blazer concept truck of 2001). Saturday while food shopping for my little guy's birthday party/cookout I saw a 1970 El Camino SS 396 three parking spots down from my car. It was a dark green with a green vinyl top (not black like most I've seen), and a 4-speed on the floor. It looks to be a daily driver and in mostly original condition. For it's age it was a real sweet ride! (Camino would've been happy)

Yesterday while attending a BPG dealership's annual car show I spotted numerous G8s on the lot, mostly in black and white, but there was one Stryker Blue, one Sport Red, and several Pacific Slate Blue G8s there too. I used to want mine in White, but I think if I go with the G8 next summer or fall, Pacific Slate Blue is my new color choice. Once I get my camera downloaded, I'll post the colors here.

Well my wife has a 2008 G6 V6 Sedan and, similar to caddycruiser's, it's White Diamond Tricoat with the Taupe <leather> interior with the plood accents. It's a very nice combination, and one I didn't think I would like initally. Many people at her job in Princeton drive foreign cars, notably Toyotas, Volvos, BMWs, Mercedes, etc. Most of her coworkers drive small, 4cyl economy cars and tried their best to convince her to move down in size too. She's been totally happy with her G6 (Aug 26 will be two months) and I asked her if she still likes it - to which she replied an enthusiastic "Yes!". Many of her coworkers think she spent a ton of money on it - the WD paint, taupe leather, and the Chrome Package make this car look more upscale than what it really is (they call her "Miss Moneybags" when she drives them out to lunch). Other than the radio being "old school" GM, it gained an auxillary input jack added for 2008 and she likes it as it is. She's totally happy with her G6 and we've met other G6 owners who feel the same way. I too use to knock the G6 for being the older of the Epsilons, but in reality it's not as bad as some here make it out to be. I wish we could have opted up for the convertible, or purchased the coupe, but we need the sedan for the convenience of the two boys getting in & out, and so far we still all like the G6. Yesterday at a all-GM classic car show held at a Buick-Pontiac-GMC dealership, there was a black GXP G6 Coupe that she just thought was the ugliest thing in the world. She stated that she was happy the G6 didn't look like that on every model. I can;t get over the frontend with the "Bugs Bunny" grille and the extremely overdone rear spoiler. But to some that's what they like and many here claim GM doesn't offer enough unique models.

Well, my name is simple: I love GM vehicles, especially the trucks (GMC most notably, and regardless of how screwed up the company's been in my 33 years of existance); when people ask what kind of vehicles I like the most, I always respond with "I'm a Truck Guy"; and 74 represents the year of my birth (1974) - put it all together and you get GMTruckGuy74.

Did anyone go to the New Hope show on either Saturday or Sunday? Saturday was obviosuly the better weather day, and I saw a tidbit of it featured on the 11:00 PM Channel 6 (ABC) news. I opted to go to the much smaller, all-GM show in Toms River yesterday instead of New Hope, seeing as how the weather was not going to be as nice. I got to the GM show with about 30 minutes to spare before huge lightning bolts, thunder & heavy rain forced the show to ened 2 hours early. As soon as I can download my camera at home, I'll add a new post with pictures from that show.

Lately on cable the movie "Demolition Man" (1993) has been playing a lot. I've alawys liked this movie, (1) because it's a movie based in the future, and (2) because all of the vehicles in it are from GM (what a future!). It's not the greatest movie of all time and some of it's plot is a little "too out there" for realism, but I find it to entertain me well enough. Anyway, I've always wondered where all of the GM Ultralites came from as featured in the movie. Many are police cars, but if you look close enough you'll see some "civilian" versions driving around. That and the fact that one civilian version is used in the "Bicentennial Man" (1999) and "A.I. - Artificial Intelligence" (2000) movies made me want to look for any information about them on the Internet. I drove by the Caprice wagon yesterday (forgot my camera, and did it again today - sorry!) and it is definitely a 1975 model (round headligths in the square setting). It does have the wood panel wallpaper, and driving by in traffic it looked to be a brown or rust color. It is for sale, so if anyone is looking for such a wagon let me know so I can stop and get the number for you.

I agree with you DF on that the delay was not a real good idea, but you have to realize that GM did benefit (profit) by bringing out the GMT-900 trucks when they did. Assume GM didn't delay the Zeta and brought out the trucks this past Janaury? Would GM have capitalized enough on 6 months of GMT-900 sales? Probably not, and those 18+ months of sales before the gas prices increased aided in GM making some money off of that platform. What would have been nice is if the Zeta cars could have debuted alongside of the GMT-900s - now that would have been quite the surprise!

That would be one of the reasons I'd like to buy a G6 Convertible! Many I see on the roads are driven exactly that way - the top is up but all four windows are down. I think people would like that feature - and just think of how many people have never ridden in a car like that?

The Pontiac G8 was my number 1 recommendation. I did not get the Camaro survey either.

A new GMC Sierra SLE2 Crew Cab 4WD/Z71 (if I had the extra cash I'd probably splurge for the SLT model, and if I really had the extra cash, I'd go for the Denali model )
