  1. Happy belated Birthday, Derek!! I hope you had a great day
  2. I am a huge fan of the 2015 Charger! If I wasn't so interested in trucks I think I finally found the vehicle that would sway me back to a 'car'. Saw it Saturday in NYC and was very 'wowed' by it in person
  3. for a very , Walt!!
  4. My wife has been wanting a minivan for a long time but I have not been a fan of anything on the market. This may change my mind! I'll have to see what she thinks of it when we go to the NYIAS on Saturday (19th). It would be funny if she didn't like it or want a minivan anymore If she does, I may have to see what these lease for when they come out.
  5. My first 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 HD sighting, and a chassis cab model at that: Saw it at Arena Buick-GMC in Hammonton, NJ (it's on the way to A/C ). Passed by there yesterday as I travelled with the family to Cardiff, NJ (Storybook Land for the kiddies). Saw my first '15 Sierra 2500 HD on the road on my way into work this morning. It was the bronze (brown) metallic color and was a double cab 4WD model. Boy did it look sweet drive down the highway
  6. Sorry, I don't recall seeing this post So far, so good. The G6 had a slight vibration at highway speeds with the old Michelins, and it has it with the new General Tires too (speeds over 60+ MPH). I don;t think it's the tires but more the suspension or steering translates a lot of road vibration at the higher speeds (of course the G6 is included in the electric power steering recall ). As for wet traction is has done extremely well in all the rain we've been experiencing lately and on dry pavement I've noticed braking is much better (feels more confident, but that could be from more tread [Michelin's were pretty bad]). The look of the tire is awesome and I find myself staring at the wheels more I can't say I regret buying this tire at this time. Once I get a chance to clean up the outside and the tires I'll post some pics.
  7. Yeah, that's the logic I've explained to her Drew. If we continue putting the G6 monthly payment into savings, next summer she can get herself a nicely equipped car or a decent lease.
  8. Make Mothers Day extra special and get it for her! You're too funny, dfelt!! How would I follow-up next year? All Weather Floor Mats just wouldn't do it, I'm sure Her G6 is almost paid off, she's always the one whining about car payments and gave me the whole speech in February (@ the Philly Car Show) that while she'd like a new Encore having a car that's paid off and owned free and clear is more important to her. Fast foward two months and let her sit in an Encore that's equipped the way she wants and boy does she change her tune quickly!! We'll see what happens later this year after her G6 is paid off (June or July I think). I can't get my new Canyon until later this year since they have a fall introduction so maybe we get a two-for deal
  9. The interior was 'Titanium' - basically gray with the black accents. This is the first time we've seen this color in the White Diamond; usually the dealers are bringing the White Diamond with the Saddle color interion (brown), which she and I don't like. That was another of her reasons why she 'liked' this one
  10. If it was in Stealth Gray Metallic or Sonoma Red Metallic, I'd have an even harder time finding solid reasons to say 'no' to buying it Yeah, she spent easily 15-20 minutes sitting in that Encore, playing with the audio system (since when did GM make the audio system operational without the key in the ignition?). That one was pricey, MSRP $34,975 for the Premium AWD package with White Diamond paint ($995), 18" Chrome Rims ($995), Sunroof ($800) and Navigation ($795). I like the rims but not at that price, the other options I couldn't care less about but not her!! She wants all of them. Of course I just put $580 worth of new tires on the G6 and we have 2 or 3 more payments to go (0% for 72 months). Plus at 96k miles, I'm sure the trade-in value won't be great. The plan is to hold off on a new purchase for her until 2015, and most likely a return to leasing so I don't have to worry about paying for a car that will have a ton of miles put on it. I think taking her to the Buick-GMC dealership wasn't such a great idea afterall
  11. Searched out 2014 GMC 2500 HD Sierra SLE Regular Cab pickups yesterday and found the only 'SLE' trimmed model at Perrine Buick-GMC in Cranberry, NJ. Decided to take a ride out there Sunday to check it out: They ended up having a 2015 GMC 250 HD Sierra SLE Regular Cab too: DO WANT!! Not that a regular cab long bed pickup is the ideal combination for my family needs The wife found what she wants for her next vehicle: (yes, that's her behind the wheel of the unlocked Encore on the dealer's lot!)
  12. Tonka Tuff!! This would have been great for the construction, agriculture and fire service industries. It reminds me of this:
  13. To the one that tries his best to make sure everyone else's birthday is acknowledged here on C&G, ocnblu (aka Bill)!! I hope you have a fun-filled day crusing around in your new Duramax-equipped 2015 regular cab 2500 HD pickup!
  14. I was going to say, I don't think the regular cab HD models are in production yet
  15. On Sunday (3/30) I did some lot shopping of a nearby GMC dealership (FC KErbeck, Palmyra, NJ). Spotted my first GMC Sierra 2500 HD SLE Crew Cab 4x4 in the wild: Parked next to the outgoing 2014 model:
  16. Problem solved. A poster on another GM Truck forum suggested that I clean out the bending part of the wiper arm and spray it with a lubricant. I cleaned it and used my can of compressed air (keyboard cleaner) to dry it out. Then I sprayed it with my can of Liquid Wrench and that did the trick! The wiper arm now moves freely and wipes the entire window again. Simple fix to a simple issue
  17. for a very , Dodgefan!!
  18. I have a Droid - Motorola Razr Maxx - and an iPhone 5s (work).
  19. Opps, I made a big mistake. I wasn't sure I heard the guy right on the phone the other day, so I called again this morning to double check and the price is $580 installed, not $480. I was trying to figure out on my drive in to work how he was able to undercut the other shop by $108 bucks (that's like a free tire!). So anyway, I'm still going with the GTs.
  20. The General Tire Altimax HPs; I'm getting them installed Friday afternoon. The original shop I emailed for a price that didn't get back to me I decided to follow-up one last time. They quoted me the best price after all - $480 installed (the other shop quoted me $588 installed). So I said order them and I'll be there Friday. I'll post pictures and my initial impression Friday afternoon. Thanks everyone for your input and advice, you made this an easier process. And thanks 2QuickZ's for your tire recommendation and supporting evidence
  21. Thanks for the response, dfelt. It only started this past late January once the weekly snow storms started. Initially I thought maybe something happened with the spring inside; I'll gently push the arm back into the holder when it's off so the next time I use it I get one good swipe. It cleans the driver's side half of the rear window but leaves a big mess on the passenger side
  22. Hi all. The past two months I've been having an issue with the rear wiper arm of my 2006 GMC Envoy. When it swipes, the arm will push out but not retract/spring back, so the first swipe it clears the rear hatch window but on the return swing it sticks out and looses contact with the glass. It then does not seat right into the wiper arm holder on the gate. Is this a known problem?
  23. I'm sure this is an isolated incident. They've been available for sale since mid-February and I've seen several on the roads in NJ (including Tahoes) - there's even a white '15 Yukon in my housing development. It will be interesting to find out the cause of the fire - GM sure doesn't need the negative press nowadays!
