  1. The SKY lives on!!
  2. dfelt, I'm right there with you and your daughter - I love ( ) the 2010 GMC Terrain and it's the leading candidate for the AURA's replacement this fall.
  3. Yeah, but for many - myself included - NOT in a good way
  4. http://www.gmc.com/pdf/Terrain_ConsumerGuide_041509.pdf Some pretty cool pictures and some basic feature/option information, and color choices. Enjoy!!
  5. I think these three 2010 GMC Terrain videos are pretty cool: (this one is the video featured on the GMC.com Terrain sub-website) Enjoy!!
  6. Took a leap of faith yesterday and headed out to Macungie, PA for the 30th Annual ATCA (Antique Truck Club of America) Natioanl Meet (classic truck show). Left the house a little before 9AM and it was partly sunny... 15 minutes later it turns very cloudy and the raindrops begin to fall... heavy rain for the next 2 hours and the well-attended truck show was a mudfest. Spent a good portion of the time there at the Mack Trucks Macungie Assembly Plant tour because it was much drier in there and no mud! I'm praying that the weather for next weekend is much better for the All-GM Nationals in Carlisle!!
  7. FINALLY!! I had to travel 85-90 miles away from my house, but I found the Typhoon and the '87 Monte Carlo at a TRU in Whitehall Twp, PA
  8. I hope you're still out there enjoying it!!
  9. Some possible good news for me at work... one of my colleagues has decided to retire after 32+ years of teaching, effective on September 1st. While she's not directly a business education teacher, I do have the proper certification to teach what she was teaching (Cooperative Business Education, or Co-op for short). So that means I may not be laid-off afterall. I'm waiting to hear back from the HR boss on Monday as to how the Board of Education voted last night (on whether or not to accept the superintendent's reccommendation for me as her replacement). The job is an eleventh-month position, which starts on July 1, but with her staying on until Septmber 1 I'm not sure when I would start exactly. The tough part is now waiting until Monday to see how the BOE members voted
  10. Dodgefan, TED will have to answer that one, as he was the one that provided me the link. And yes, my wonderful job blocks Photobucket
  11. TED, don't worry - your GMC-themed design will be making a return, likely come September once the lights are turned off at Pontiac (since the Vibe production has recently been annouced to end in August, I'm sure the final days of Pontiac will come soon after). While I have been a long-time truck fan, Pontiac has always been right there too (and so was Oldsmobile, but I'm sad to say I've never owned one new or used). While I'm happier than a 5 year-old in a candy store that GMC gets to live on with the New GM, I'm still saddened that Pontiac must die in order for that to happen. If it makes you feel any better, your sig wasn't blocked at my school, so I could see it all the time (I'm mostly on C&G when at school/work) - the new Dodgefan sig and the one created by gm4life are both blocked at work
  12. I will definitely keep this in mind. Thanks for the offer!
  13. gm4life, thank you for taking the time to fulfill my request and submit your work. I like them both equally and couldn't decide - so it was time to bring the family in. I showed them both and it was two votes for Dodgefan's submission and one vote for gm4life's (I remained out of the voiting). Congrats DF! I will be keeping the new signature up until the day GM turns the lights out on Pontiac.
  14. Yes Dodgefan, I concur with your statement. GM does not need Toyota in any of their dealerships from this point on.
  15. Vibe production coming to an end Rick Kranz Automotive News June 18, 2009 - 4:27 pm ET General Motors will stop making the Pontiac Vibe for the U.S. market at the end of August, the automaker announced today. But GM may continue to produce the compact hatchback for the Canadian market for a short time beyond August, said Jim Hopson, a Pontiac spokesman. "It is being phased out. We are not going to keep Pontiac in Canada.," he said in a telephone interview. "It is just that the timing may be slightly different than the U.S." Production of the 2010 Vibe began in March. The Vibe is the only 2010 model offered by Pontiac as GM prepares to wind down the brand by the end of 2010. The Vibe is produced at the New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated (NUMMI) plant operated jointly by GM and Toyota in Fremont, Calif. No replacement for Vibe production has been determined. But GM said it continues to have discussions with Toyota about possible future production at NUMMI. Link
  16. Dodgefan, that's awesome and just what I was looking for. gm4life, where's your submission???
  17. Yeah, my wife got her letter last week too. I'm really curious as to all of the incentives that are out there... owner loyalty, lease to buy (for current GMAC SmartLease contracts expiring before 12-31-2009), military, college grad, gm supplier, gm employee, credit union member, etc, etc, etc. I'm dying to go to my BPG dealer and see how many incentives I can qualify for on a G8 V6 Sedan... they still have the Pacific Slate Metallic with Onxy Leather model I want on their lot
  18. I'm so mad because many of the retailers I usually buy my diecasts from have cut back due to teh economy (recession) and I'm not finding the new stuff lately. I'll be going to two big truck/car shows soon and will most likely find the stuff there, but at a premium price Olds Guy, two things: (1) where have you been finding these new releases?, and (2) please continue to post more findings!!
  19. Back in January of 2003, my wife fell in love with the Buick Rendezvous (she was 28 years old at the time). What did we do? We leased a Rendezvous for three years. We did look at an Enclave last year, but even the base model was out of our price range so she ended up with a Pontiac. Now, after seeing the new 2010 Buick LaCrosse twice (Philly Auto Show in February and NYIAS in April), she's totally head over heels for that car (and she's now 34 y-o). When my AURA lease is up this November, she wants me to take the Pontiac and she wants to get a new 2010 Buick LaCrosse. I also have a friend that is 34 and he is on his second new Buick - the first was a new 2005 Rainier and last year he traded that in for a loaded Enclave AWD. Buick is definitely reaching out to the under 40 crowd, and let's hope that new products in the pipeline continue to do so. I can see a new 2010 LaCrosse in my driveway in the near future (assuming I lose out on the battle for a GMC Terrain!! ).
  20. Thanks for offering gm4life... I'll be waiting patiently to see what you come up with. Dodgefan, I'm sending you a PM now.
  21. I've been on Kingda Ka twice now - August, 2005 when it was still new and May, 2008 on a field trip. The ride aims away from the ocean, so you don't see to the east. As far as I can remember, you don't see much for the 3 seconds you're at the top, but almost everyone I know looks down at the parking lot! If you do look around to the west, you see a lot of the pine barrens (pine trees). BTW, I've heard rumors that Kingda Ka has only one or two more years left before it's dismantled - it has too many breakdowns and was damaged in a early spring wind storm making shutdowns happen more often.
  22. I'd like someone to design me a new Pontiac-themed signature that I'll display for a little while in honor of Pontiac's closure. I'm thinking something along the lines of a G8 GT and possibly a Solstice, as a tribute to the last two REAL Pontiacs. Anyone up to the challenge? If yes, post your designs here and I'll consider all that are offered to me. TIA
  23. 10 more days until the show officially opens, and 11 more days until I (and most others here) will be there. All I've got to say about this is...
  24. Can't wait to see pics of it at its new home. Congrats Camino on finally getting your 2-door fullsize SUV!!
  25. The '68 Firebird I posted is a 400 H.O. model... btw, it's the cover car of this month's bi-issue of Pontiac Enthusiast:
