  1. Nope, didn't see any Pontiac G3s or Chevy Aveos, and as for G5s there was just one that I remember (and it wasn't even a GT model), and there were quite a few Cobalts & Cavaliers. As for Saturn, there was the white SC2 I included, and several other IONs, VUEs, and SCs, but no 1st gen S-Series sedans. I only saw a handful of Grand Ams on display ('85-'04), but no Skylarks or Cutlass Calais/Achieva.
  2. Just for you caddycruiser, the rest of the Pontiac G8 pictures I took... (Side Note: I passed that last G8 on the PA Turnpike not too far from the Carlisle exit with my little 3.5L V6-powered Saturn AURA But in his defense, I think he was making a stop at the last rest stop before the Carlisle exit )
  3. What did I bring home? A 2-year subscription to Pontiac Enthusiast magazine, which also included a free PE t-shirt (FYI: the young lady told me that in January, 2010 the magazine is switching from bi-monthly to monthly status ), a MIB Brookfield Collector's Guild 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora 1/24th scale model in Teal bought on the cheap, a 2008 HW 1st Edition '69 GTO Judge in Maroon (I have the orange & black, didn't know a 3rd color was made), a bottle of Meguiar's NXT 2.0 wax, a tin "Pontiac Only Parking " sign, and a "GMC Truck Drive" road sign (this was from the guy right next to the T-Building <Invitational Display> and behind the Grandstand... I requested it back in October at Hershey and he remembered!). My little guy of course wanted all the expensive toys, but I was able to saistfy him with several Johnny Lightning cars & trucks from a JL-only vendor (large tent next to the Camaro barn/building). Did anyone else get the 2010 Camaro mini-brochure that was signed by the Camaro Team? You had to go inside of the T-Building to get it, and I don't know if they were available after 12 noon. I got one and of course the little guy had to have one for himself, but my dad passed.
  4. Umm, that I liked it? LOL!
  5. So, what did you buy? (I'm assuming that's a shopping bag by your foot)
  6. caddycruiser, if I was able to make the 2:05 hour trip out west from southern NJ, you could have made it from DE (well, if work wasn't in the way! ) It was definitely a good show day. There's always next year, and I think we need to make it an official C&G Meet to boot.
  7. And the final batch... And here's two pictures from the top of the hill (where the rock climbing section is), giving you a somewhat overview of the show fields:

  11. And more... (Side Note - the rims above are Holden HSV, and I overheard the '08 G8 GT owner tell another guy that it cost him $2,100 to get those rims from Austrailia, which was the price of the rims alone <no tires> and shipping )

  14. Okay, here's more...
  15. Okay, here are some of my pictures: Okay, I have more to post I promise... photobucket didn't want to load the 50 I chose all at one time, it picked these two and then froze. IU'm going back to load up more, a few at a time.
  16. Camino, you're so mean to me! Making me wait to find out what rare GMC you've found. Let me get to work putting them on Photobucket right now.
  17. for a very
  18. Okay, you've piqued my interest with that statement right there (as you always do!)... you have to spill the beans - I demand it
  19. Thanks for the recommendation. There were a ton of people at the Meguiar's tent yesterday at Carlisle, and many bought the NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 (including me). It was pricey - $17 for a 18 fl. oz. bottle, but if it works as great as you say, then it will be well worth it.
  20. Yeah, I drooled over that '66 GMC Suburban too It was a very nice survivor that could be used as a daily driver or be taken off the road and be fully restored. The weather was very un-summer like in Carlisle. While sunny, bright, and warm in the sun, there was a nice breeze blowing all day that made it very comfortable (usually you sweat to death while walking around). If you walked into a vendors tent, or when the clouds covered the sun, you really felt the breeze and the coolness it brought. I've been to Carlisle since '98 and this is the first time I think I really enjoyed the weather there at a car show. I took a lot of pictures, and it seems Camino and I have the same taste in cars as he posted many of the ones I took too. I'll wait to see what else is posted by Camino and anyone else before I post some of mine. <begin rant> I must say that I was disappointed by the "Chevy Ride and Drive" event. I didn't get to test drive any of the cars and it was because of the age requirement they impose. Any passengers that ride along must be 12 years old; of course my son is 3. He really, really, really wanted to go for a ride in a Camaro (that's all I heard about all day - the new Camaros - once he saw so many of them there). I understand safety is their liability, so they have to safeguard themselves. But the fact is they are on private property - not busy streets with tons of commuters - and you drive basically under 20 MPH with a representative. I myself wanted to drive teh all new 2010 Equinox (a loaded LTZ V6 model), and my dad wanted to drive the new Camaro. My son was upset byt he fact he couldn't go along on the ride and I felt it was unfair for me to go ahead. If they (GM/Chevy) would have allowed him to ride provided I installed his booster seat, I would have walked all the way across the show fields, out Gate #7 to where I was parked, and would have gotten his car seat. But they don't even allow that. So needless to say, while Chevy hyped-up this feature of the show, me and my family (loyal GM owners for many years) were not allowed to particiapte <end rant>. One final thought about the show... you could tell the economy took its toll on this show. While the show fields had tons of participants, the car coral area (cars & trucks for sale) was very empty compared to previous years and there were tons of vendors missing that are normally there - I noticed last year a lot of missing vendors too, and this year even more didn't show up. IMO, one whole aisle (with like 7/8 vendors) could have been merged with another aisle to save people from walking aimlessly. And there are some problems with the GTO crowd, as there was a back-up of cars tryingt o park because some pre-registered and others did not and they were fighting/arguing over parking spaces All in all, it was a very good show and I saw tons of cars that I normally don't see. I think the GM Truck community needs to wake up and start attending this show - truck participation was lacking again (I've seen more GM trucks at the All-Truck Nationals there than I've ever seen at the All-GM Nationals!). This is one show I don't miss out on and I can't wait for next year's show!
  21. I'll be there around 9:00 AM... will be attending the show with my 3 year-old (Justin) and my dad. Hopefully I'll bump into, and recognize, some C&G members!
  22. And seeing as how I'll be attending the All-GM Nationals show on Saturday in Carlisle, I could use advice quickly as Meguiars and Mothers are usually there hocking their wares (and usually at a car show discount). TIA!
  23. I haven't waxed in years, since I started leasing my vehicles and not giving them the kind of attention that I gave the cars I owned. Even when I had the SKY I didn't wax it, though I wanted to. The wife's '08 Pontiac G6 will be getting a full detail soon, especially since it's approaching it's 1 year anniversary this Sunday. Keep posting what you all use and why you like it, since I need to go out and buy wax ASAP.
  24. I like Goodyears myself, and they use to be the standard tire on most GM vehicles. I remember the Michelins my wife's '03 Rendezvous CX FWD had and they were crap at 25k. I did buy Pirelli's for my '92 Cavalier Z24 when it needed new tires and the Goodyears were too expensive, but I wasn't happy with those at all. The '05 Envoy we had had Michelin's and they were very good tires; they lasted me the entire 44k I had the lease, though they could have been replaced around 42K. The Hankook tires my '07 AURA came with are just pure CRAP - they have 37K on them now, but always had poor traction from the get-go. The wife's '08 G6 has them too and with it approaching 18K soon - I'm noticing a little sliding action and loss of traction (when giving it gas from a full stop in the rain). I plan to get new tires, either Goodyear TripleTreds or something similar from Michelin. If I could do it now I'd trade her Hankooks for the new set and put her Hankooks on my AURA.
  25. Yeah, I agree with you too abou the lack of the Chevy Volt character... then I was reading up about the movie on IMDB.com and saw this tidbit of info: So I guess he was seen in the movie, but unless you knew that info above prior to seeing the movie, you wouldn't know it was Jolt.
