Dodgefan, would you mind working your photo-shopping magic on the following two pictures (all I want is the rear door windows and rear windshield 'tinted' please):
-
Actually, while I like and would prefer all windows tinted (except the front windshield), I'm okay going with just the rear windows being tinted. While the balance isn't all there because the fronts are not tinted, I'd much rather be able to get the car to pass NJ State Inspection in three years and also not to get the unwanted attention of any police officer. Unless NJ allows a small % of tint on the front windows, then I'm just going to leave the fronts untinted. Thanks for your efforts with the photo-shopping... it eased my concerns that the car would look totally awkward with just the rears tinted (and IMO, I don't think it looks as awkward as I was imagining! ).
-
Ohh... that looks nice DF! Thanks for the photo-shopped pictures. Though there is a downside with your work... with the 2nd photo-shopped picture. It's making me want to get the front windows tinted too Great work and now I gotta do something thinking

Is there someway that you can photoshop "tint" on a window to see what it would look like? I've attached a side-shot of the G6 just in case you can. It would be the rear door and the small triangular window too. TIA!!
-
Well, I have an appointment set-up for this Thursday (8/6) at 1:00 PM to have the G6's rear door windows and the rear window tinted. I'll be sure to snap 'before' and 'after' shots for a comparison. I'm tempted to have the front door windows tinted too, but know the car won't pass NJ inspection. So it will just be the rear half of the car. It's a surprise for the wife - she doesn't know it's gettong done - but I think she'll like it and besides making the car look cooler, it will aid in keeping it cooler Are you thinking about doing it to your Bonneville?? BTW gm4life, how satisfied are you with the tint job almost a week later? Any problems?? And off-topic slightly, how's the rear wiper motor? That's the 2nd one put in, right? My mom's 2005 Saturn VUE had to get a new rear wiper motor this year too (February). I wonder if there's a known problem with that motor?

Do you have any pictures of your Ford F-150? Preferrably before you strip it! BTW, I'm glad it's working out for you still with the rebate.

Oops! Sorry daves87rs!! I took a shot in the dark and I missed.. but let this correction give you the credit you deserve for recommending this wax. I haven't waxed a vehicle in 7 or 8 years and it was never my favorite thing to do. But the Meguiar's NXT Generation 2.0 Tech Wax was very easy to use - goes on smooth, comes off smooth, and leaves a great shine. Even the plastic chorme pieces I put the wax on still shine and have no rain spots on them. I highly recommend this wax.

I agree with you hyperv6... if Pontiac offered the LNF 2.0 I4 Ecotec Turbo in the G5 (plus offering the G5 in sedan form too) and in the G6 as part of the GXP package for those two cars, I'm sure more attention would have been paid to the brand by the audience that desires that type of product. And with the G6 getting the LNF, it would have been another way to differeniate that car from the Malibu. But alas, GM had made its mind up about Pontiac long ago and those plans called for it t die a slow, painful death.

Well, on a recommendation by a poster here back in mid-June (hyper, I think?), I bought Meguiars NXT Generation 2.0 Tech Wax (liquid, not paste) and used it on my wife's 2008 Pontiac G8 when I gave it a full wash & detail this month. So far I'm still happy with the results and will be using it on my dark blue AURA soon. I also have a combination of other car cleaning products use to wash & detail my cars. If you want to know what they are, let me know and I'll post them here.

Well then, I guess congratulations are on order for your return to GM come September 1 (ironically, that's the day I return back to work myself!!). -
Well, I hope this works out for you. I'll keep you & your sanity in my prayers for the next 12 hours

Is it similiar in color to this 'bu?
-
That is a really good idea. Seriously. JUST DO IT!!
-
Don't you think during the initial investigation that the police would have asked the mechanics to show them exactly where they parked the car?

Please, please, please tell me you're working on a plan that will let you sneak this car off the dealership's lot and into the garage of a C&G member somewhere in this country!!

2003 Buick Park Avenue Ultra
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
Well, while I was out today the selling dealership called to let me know that there is an "out-of-state" customer inquiring about the car and they want to know f I'm coming to see it or if I am no longer interested in the car. I'm not sure if this is one of their little sales tactics, but I'm not falling into this kind of trap. I am in no rush to purchase and if they have another customer ready, then by all means don't hold it for me. While this Buick has definitely caught my interest, I still have four more months of my AURA SmartLease to go. Being that this dealership is over 40 miles away is one reason why I'm not "jumping the gun" to make a move on it. I know more will come along over teh next four months and I'd rather be ready to make a quick deal because that's what I want and not because of some dealer's pressure. And of course I won't lie and say I'm hesitating on purchasing anything right now - I want to see what the General is going to do with incentives come August 1st. If 0% for 72 months comes back, I want to seriously see what I can get a 2009 Pontiac G8 for :AH-HA_wink: -
I need to start cruising through some of my local dealerships soon and see what's on the back lots.

Oops, saw you posted the tint % after I made my post. Thanks for the info!!
