  1. At the bottom of the main forum page, under where it tells how many people are viewing the site and lists their names, was another box that use to state who was celebrating a birthday that day and would stay there for the full 24 hours.
  2. I'm at work (school) and of course all auction sites are banned. Would you kindly tell me what the '57 Chevy Cameo & '57 GMC Suburban Carrier pickups (and any other GMC & Chevy trucks) sold for? I'll forget to check this out later at home
  3. This is the one change I don't like around here.
  4. Well, I'll be on the Atlantic City Expressway early Thursday morning, and on my way home late Friday afternoon. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for one of these puppies!! On the flip side, I'm glad to see our deficit-run state spend the taxpayers money on 200 Camaros...
  5. I asked the repair facility owner (e-mailed, actually) why he was still listed on Cooper's site as an authorized retailer for Cooper Tires if he can't them anymore. His response was basically that the Cooper rep told him that the east coast warehouse was closed and it's impossible for the east coast Cooper dealers to get tires now. Does this sound kosher to you? I have yet to move on the Mastercraft, not that I don't want them, but holding off due to the wife's request
  6. I've passed on the brighter lime green '71 Olds, though my 4 y-o son didn't I'm waiting until I find a white one then, as I think it will look better than the green. I have yet to see the Caddy ambulance, and the MBX website shows white with a red stripe. The GMC Schoolbus I found in September is all schoolbus yellow, just like they should be
  7. What colors are they each in? I'm asking because I want to know if you got the first releases or the 2nd release (usually two colors, if not three, are offered in the first year lately).
  8. Was this the color and style Bonneville you saw? A co-worker of mine bought a new '05 Bonneville GXP as a retirement gift for himself, though he hasn't retired yet! It's in that gray above, and IMHO, that's the best looking color for the GXPs. I get to see it everyday.
  9. Anyone find the '63 Cadillac Ambulance yet? How about the white version of the '71 Olds Vista Cruiser? (not a fam of the lime green Visat Cruiser) I found the yellow GMC Schoolbus in late September. Also, I'm still looking for the Jungle Cruiser I posted about too.

  11. Yeah, I noticed Mastercrafts website being similar to Cooper's. Figured they had more in common than what I knew. I think I'm going to go with the Mastercraft Avenger LSR Touring tires for the G6. This morning I received an e-mailed price quote of $867 for the Goodyear Assurance Tripletred tires That's just crazy!! I put out a couple of e-mails yesterday to other tire retailers around me asking for Cooper CS4 Touring tires, but have yet to hear back from them (I'm assuming they don't stock them). I will ask one more vendor for a price quote on the Mastercraft tires, just to see if they're charging any less than the repair place near my house. The Sears auto center by me does not carry the Mastercraft brand, so I can't go there. Thanks for the advice and input, I feel more comfortable going with this brand knowing that someone else out there in the real world has experience and knowledge of these tires.
  12. Sorry to hijack your thread here gm4life, but I need to ask advice on a tire brand: MASTERCRAFT AVENGER TOURING LSR (H/V rated) The repair facility next to my housing development is listed on Cooper Tires website as being an authorized Cooper Tire dealer, but in his e-mail reply to my request for a price on CS4 Touring H/V tires he told me he's no longer a Cooper seller. He said he could get the Mastercraft tires listed above, which are made by Cooper and are the equivilant to the CS4s. daves87rs, since you're the 'Cooper Tire' guy, is that a good tire?? Would you buy it over the Cooper CS4 Touring tire? He's quoting me $129/tire, whereas the only other Cooper Tire seller is quoting me $173/tire on the CS4s (includes the mounting, balance, and tire disposal - which I don;t want). That is a big difference in price, and if they're the same or very similar tire, should I go with the Mastercraft?
  13. He has, though that *% right rear passenger door window is now pushing back. With rain the window has a tendacy to fall down (I guess the water makes it slippery in the tracks). I had parked the car in the driveway in the last rain storm so the window wouldn't open on it's own, on the slope, which seemed to help. Since the starter went in that time, the car has still been in the driveway. Well yesterday was a rainy day and late last night when I went to park the AURA in the driveway as I walk by the Caddy, FWUMP! down goes the window, now off-track. So before I could just pull up the glass and close it, now it's off-center & won't go past the half-way mark. I had no choice but to put a garbage bag over the door and duct-tape it to the glass. Rain all night, and will rain throughout the day today - this is going to be a mess. I can't wait to get home from work and have to deal with this But yes, I plan to keep the car and get work down soon by a professional. It's a shame though I do not have the tools or the know-how to do a lot of the work myself. caddycruiser has the parts needed and the experience to fix the window problem, but he lives 2.5 hours south of me and it's not easy for him to find the time to help me. The starter has to get fixed soon - or I will have a problem with the battery too (I'm sure its suffering just sitting out there). Unfortunately I do not have friends that are shade tree mechanics, otherwise I could ask them. So it will be interesting how I'm going to get stuff done, on the cheap, myself. I'm not giving up the fight, but I will have to use the one thing I do have to my advantage - my brain! - to figure this out and soon.
  14. You mean like this one? (I took that at the AACA Fall Meet in Hershey back on October 10th - I have a side & rear shot at home I can post later if you want)
  15. I'd vote 'NO' and say wait until you find another Oldsmobile.
  16. Maybe I should have voted for GMC instead of Pontiac then Out of the four core GM brands post-2009, GMC would be my #1 preferred choice, followed by Buick, Cadillac, Chevy (though Chevy would be the next affordable price range for me being realistic).
  17. How about Cooper Tires? daves87rs recommended them to me for the wife's G6 (b/c her Hankook - aka Hancrap - tires are going to be put onto the AURA before I return the lease next month). I'm waiting to hear back from two local Cooper tire installers/dealers with price quotes before I go ahead and do this. There's two brand of Cooper tires that come up when I searched for a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville SLE: CS4 Touring H/V Rated 235/55R17 99 V (150 MPH rating) link Zeon Sport A/S 235/55ZR17 99 W (169 MPH rating) link You'd have to search for a Cooper tire distributor in your area though dealer locator link
  18. Car = Pontiac / Truck = GMC All seven GM North America divisions, in order of preference: 1. Pontiac 2. GMC 3. Saturn 4. Oldsmobile 5. Cadillac 6. Buick 7. Chevy
  19. Soory, I just needed to take one of these: The problem started when I realized more things had to be done to the car than what I was told or realized when I bought it (not saying the seller neglected to tell me things, but in the two months I've had it more things popped up). The big cause to the 'wanting to sell' mindset was the latest issue to unfold - a non-operating car. Originally I thought it was the battery, but it still gave power to the lights, RKE, radio, etc. So my neighbor thought it was a weakened battery and tried to jump it with no luck. It now appears that the starter has gone and the car is no longer operating. Factor in the annoying non-operating passenger side windows (especially the rear that likes to fall open on its own), the power antenna that doesn't power up and limits radio reception, an interior smell that can get annoying in a short amount of time, some additional rust/trim damage/interior rips I've recently found, the TEMP idiot light coming on after a short time of driving, and the possibility of a leaky gasket getting the trunk wet all compiled together and made me want to get rid of the car for something new. Not the worse that could happen, but enough to make me regret the decision to buy it for daily driver usage. I've gotten over that now and will put some money I have on hand into it very soon to start correcting the major of these issues (I still need caddycruiser for the window fixes). I love the design of the car and the 'hugeness' of it compared to everything else on the road. So that has never waivered or faltered. I just got upset over some unexpected things, plus with my lease coming up soon I am going to miss going through the 'new car buying experience' (my family & friends think I'm weird because I actually enjoy going through the process to buy a new vehicle). Couple that with Terrains arriving at dealerships (the #1 choice for the AURA replacement prior to the lay-off/financial mess) and the few remaining Pontiac G8s that are tempting me before they disappear and I can no longer buy the Pontiac I would have. So thanks for the support and knocking this knucklehead with some common sense.
  20. Yes, the white G8 was a GT model (V8 powered). The G8 V6 and GT models are hard to tell apart unless you look at the rims, the taillight lens cover, and the door handles (GT models are chrome & body color vs. the V6's body-color only <though the upgraded handles are available as a DIO on the V6>). Regardless of the model, I liked the way the white G8 looked, parked as it was, and had to get a shot of it
  21. See, I disagree with you both based on the vehicles you're comparing the Terrain to. In 2001 when I was leasing my Sonoma Highrider, my salesman BEGGED me to consider leasing their loaded '01 Aztek because no one else was looking at it!! It sat there previously for 3 months with hardly any interest and it wasn't getting any from me that day. There was no way in the world I was going to drive that thing, let alone park it in my driveway. No way does the Terrain compare stylistically to the Terrain. And the Element is just fugly all around; again, other than it being a box and the Terrain having a two-box 'boxy' design, can't see the comparison. I wouldn;t buy that thing either. I'm not saying you guys have to love the Terrain, but to compare it to those two vehicles just isn't fair to the GMC Terrain. The only thing I'd see needing fixin' on the front is the large chrome trim piece on the hood - it's too large for the design. But it's growing on me and in certain colors it isn't as bad. Where I think needs attention is the foreign minivan-inspired taillights (think Toyota Sienna or Honda Odessey). The corner cap lights are fine, it's just the red bars with chrome trime & reverse lights that look too foreign-inspired for my tastes. Thanks for the compliment on the pictures longtooth. While I'm not a professional photographer, I do enjoy taking pictures and spend a little bit of time trying to get a good angle of my subject
  22. No, Halloween is reserved for the family, and it will be an all-day affair this year since it's on a Saturday. I did see the flyer to the ATCO show Sunday, but when I saw the date I had to rule it out. A shame to, because ATCO isn't far from me here in southern NJ I think. You and me alike Camino, you and me alike...
  23. I debated on not going, especially since it was about 40 miles away from my home, but the little guy has never been to a race track like Old Bridge, and more importantly how could I pass up on a Pontiac show? Not a problem! I know some posters around here like Pontiacs, myself included, so I figured I'd share.
  24. And now just a few non-Pontiac GM cars at the show (the track was open for all vehicles, since the Pontiac "Go" part of the show was held back in June)...
