  1. Thanks for the thought! Thanks, I really appreciate it. My contact at my BPG dealership couldn't help me out because he said it was already given to a person that bought a Terrain last month. He did give me a Terrain brochure (which I already have), because they're not keeping them out in the open. He said all the traffic & sales the Terrain is generating they'd be out of those by now too. eBay hasn't been a help, and it will probably be a while before one shows up there. If you get one, please let me know and I'll send you the money for the shipping & handling costs.
  2. A sample agenda for the day COULD look something like this: 10:00 AM - Meet at the AACA Museum; tour the facilities and see the special displays including the Firebird/Camaro collection and the restored GM Futurliner. C&G member group photo inside the museum, C&G vehicle group photo in parking lot. Stop in the AACA Museum Gift Shop for a special item to take home. 1:00 PM - Lunch (Bear's Den @ The Hershey Lodge/Soda Jerk Cafe <'50s themed family restaurant>/etc.) 3:00 PM - Visit the Hershey Chocolate World; ride the Chocolate Making Ride, purchase chocolate/clothing/collectibles/etc. in the gift shop, see the 3-D Really Big Show (fee), or take the Trolley Tour of Hershey (fee).
  3. Yes, January has arrived. Is there still interest in this activity? I'd love to arrange for a get-together, but there's got to be more than 3-4 people willing to do this. I know all about the weather issue, especially since I'd have a 2-hour drive myself to Hershey from southern NJ in a RWD Caddy nonetheless. At this point I'd have to say nothing offical can be arranged, like a group discount or tour guide, because if the weather turns out bad we'd have to cancel. There are some good places to eat at in Hershey that probably could handle a large group with a 24 hour notice, so having lunch/dinner somewhere could still be worked out. Those that live farther away and would want to stay overnight have the risk to take, becuase they would have to book in advance. Since we're entering the first weekend of January, I'd say at this point we'd have to shoot for a Saturday towards the middle to end of the month, like the 16th or 23rd. Post here if this is an event you'd show up for and I'll be more than happy to put something together.
  4. As for the color, Merlot Jewel Metallic, that was the color I fell in love with when I saw it on a preproduction '10 Chevy Equinox LTZ at last year's Philly Auto Show (February 2009). Then I saw pictures of the Summit White, which is a color I like trucks in (I know, white is a very utilitarian color, but with the right amount of chrome like on a SLT-2, white can look very luxurious). But now, after seeing your review with the Merlot, I'm second-guessing my color choice of white. Those are my two favorite colors, and if GM would replace the Atlantic Blue Metallic with a darker, more navy blue metallic, then I'd have yet another color to select from. Though I will admit I do like the Mocha Steel Metallic, but not enough to consider it for my color selection (I wish GMC would bring back the "Pewter" gray of the late '90s and early '00s, as I really liked that color too <my dad's 2000 Sonoma Highrider was in that color>).
  5. Thanks Drew for the review, the pictures, and the YouTube videos. Although your review was good, I'm still not sure about the 4cyl engine over the V6 if I were to buy one. I can see the benefits of the 4cyl, but after owning the '07 SKY and wishing it had a V6, I'm sure I'd want the V6 in the Terrain too (I'm just not a 4cyl kind of guy!). I will defintiely go and read the review of the Equinox soon (too busy around the house this vacation & not enough play time on the computer!). I will say that the cloth seats are comfy and nice, though I don't prefer the gray color on the black fabric for the way it stands out on the seats (very noticable). If I were to go cloth (SLE), then it would be all black (the SLT/leather models don't have two-toned seats, so I'm not sure why GM felt the SLE/cloth needed to be). The interior of the SLE-2 I drove back in November, an Atlantic Blue Metallic with the Gray & Black cloth seats, stood out negatively in my view and I knew right then that a SLE would need to be all-black for my taste. I can't wait until I can get behind a Terrain myself for an extended drive. My local Enterprise has had a black Terrain on their lot in the past, so I'm planning on renting one (if they can get me one!) for a day or two to see how well I like the 4cyl engine (I'll make sure a day-trip is planned to see how it is on local and highway drives).
  6. I'll attach a cou0ple of mine for everyone's viewing pleasure!!
  7. Too bad I'm a public employee (teacher) and Rich <the principal> doesn't control that. Hopefully he'll remember to "forget" my name when the lay-off list is being generated as a way to say sorry for damaging my car. Geico, Rich's insurance company, called me yesterday to accept full responsibility for the accident and offer their repair facility to expedite the repairs at no cost to me. They have a local shop in the town next to mine (very local & convenient) and I scheduled an appointment for this Saturday, 1/2/10 at 11:00 AM to meet with an adjuster. The adjuster will prepare the estimate by figuring out what has to be done, how they're going to do it, and how long it's going to take, but I'm leaving the car there on Saturday and driving away in a covered Enterprise "full-size car" rental on their tab. I will be sure to find out what new parts they will purchase, what used parts they intend to use, and if they plan to repair any of the existing parts on the car (like the fender). I will also ask to see if I can stop by the shop and see the car during the repairs (get some photos for my records) or if they will do it if I give them a disposable camera. I'll update this thread after my appointment on Saturday. I attached some pictures of the damage I took with my own camera after the holidays to document the accident.
  8. Congrats on the Tahoe. What year is it (I may have missed that in a previous post)?? Now you've had two 2-door SUVs, I got some catching up to do!! I may have to resume my 2-door Yukon online search, gave up on that after buying the Cadillac in August. Here's hoping all goes well with the minor repairs it needs.
  9. Does anyone have a contact at your local GMC dealership that you can call & ask for their copy of this details book? I will be going to my GMC dealership on Saturday (G6 service appointment); if my contact is there, I will ask him if he can give me their copy. But I'd appreciate it if anyone can try their dealership too if possible. Thanks!!
  10. A page goes over the PA system at school (work) yesterday afternoon (12/22) for the owner of a black Cadillac to contact the main office. My office is next door, so I walked over to find out what was up. I was told that my boss, the school's principal, hit my car as he was pulling out of his parking space (we were both backed in, my car parked on his right). He claims that he was looking left to make sure no one was coming as he turned the wheel to the right and he clipped the left front corner of my car with his Dodge Ram pickup (the bed in front of his right rear wheel is what caught onto my car). He claims to have hit my car and stopped, backing up as to not block traffic (more like get more attention paid to him). Today I learned from some witnesses that he hit the car, continued to give it gas, and subsequently caused more damage to my car and moved it a couple of inches in its space, then backed up. Attached are the pictures I took using a co-worker's digital camera. Not a great way to start the holidays off, nor celebrate a birthday (today).
  11. I got both the green (K-mart) and red (Wal-Mart) '67 Pontiac Firebirds now, and found the metallic black '09 Caddy CTS-V and a '67 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 in maroon at Wal-Mart recently. 2010 looks to be a good year for HW, as I also found some new HW-designed releases too (flatbed roll-off truck, Bread Box <decked out as a postal delivery vehicle>, and some others this holiday season). I also got lucky and found a 2009 Treasure Hunt - the Fire Eater ('70s fire pumper) - hanging on the peg at TRU the other day.
  12. LOL! I don't see the birthdays listed on the bottom of the page, and maybe I didn't set it up right, so I'm wishing myself and at least two others here that have their birthday today a wonderful day.
  13. Pontiac dies and GM gives plastic "cladding" to GMC now... well I guess this signals the end of GMC next!!
  14. Seeing that makes me want to go out and buy a leftover Pontiac G8, even if it's a V6 model.
  15. Wow... GM is really tempting me here, and I'm off starting next Thursday.... anyone wanna buy a Caddy Fleetwood so I can get a new Pontiac?
  16. The 2010 GMC Terrain Details Book, for dealership sales personnel training, has been given to a member of the TerrainForum.net who ordered a Terrain recently. He was kind enough to scan it in for all of the TerrainnForum.net members to enjoy. Here's the link to his PDF file: http://cid-3c1b934b8fabc965.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/GMC%5E_Terrain%5E_Details%5E_Book.pdf Of course me being the type that likes automobilia like this, I now want a copy of my own. The Terrain is my #1 choice for a vehicle, and as soon as money becomes available again I will be looking to get one. eBay and CL provided me with nothing on this book; the sales manager I dealt with when leasing the '05 Envoy and buying the '08 G6 is gone, so I don't think I can ask my dealership for their copy. With Christmas coming up soon (not to mention my birthday too ), can anyone help me find a copy?
  17. Oh, there are plenty of G8 V6 Sedans still available to me not far away... I just don't have the finances to make one happen, though the desire for and want are ready and waiting to launch
  18. I was very much praying for GM to greenlight this variant for me to buy. I didn't care if AWD was available or not (though I'd like the option, I could deal with it being RWD-only). I even contacted GM, with assistance from PCS with a link to the actual form GM prefers to read, telling them how perfect the Denali XT concept was as a future vehicle (they even wrote back, just a thanks for the info kind of letter though). It's a shame that vehicle was not pushed forward to come out for 2011 after the Terrain as a follow-up. As much as I appreciate PCS having a UTE-based GMC in his signature, if it can't handle a family of 5 comfortably it won't mean much to me because a 2-passenger UTE won't cut it for me regardless of the badge on the front. PCS man, please bring the Denali XT for those wanting a truck but needing the effiency of a car.
  19. Okay, new rule (assuming it's allowed) - copy and paste Craiglist pictures in these threads for those of us that view C&G while at work and can't have access to craigslist That '88 Silverado Regular Cab Dually is awesome! I've always loved the Sierra & Silverado Regular Cab Dually's from '85-'88. I'd really like that truck more if it was a GMC, but I know it doesn't matter to you. If you buy it and take care of it over the years, when you go to sell it I will play the lottery to buy it from you. Good luck with the trip, and can't wait to read your follow-up on it.
  20. Also, the door panels are another way to tell that this is the Brougham model. The '87 LE I was looking at earlier this year, the owner put in the door panels from a Brougham because of the nicer look and feel over the base and LE door pulls. If I never bought the Cadillac, maybe. The Caddy has drained me of all the money I had saved up over the past couple of years, plus being unemployed (laid-off)this past summer took the rest. Sadly, while I own the Caddy, there will be no other cars/trucks at this time.
  21. Congrats man!! It seems as if good luck/fortune is definitely on your side!!
  22. The Syclone had a 500 pound cargo carrying capacity in the bed; towing was a no-no with the Syclone. Not sure about the Tyohoon, but being that there was room for two adults in the back seat plus some cargo space for luggage/etc., I'm sure the Jimmy-based Typhoon carried more weight than the Syclone.
  23. Happy Birthday!! I hope it's a great one this year.
  24. Does your Jersey dealer still have G8s available? I'm starting to see that inventory dwindle out around where I live. What's your dealers name?
  25. No way could I kill the new owner of C&G!! Plus we grew up in the same part of NJ and I know I just don't have it in me to do something like that. Maybe chloroform to knock him out for a while so I can make my escape, but he'd likely use OnStar to shut me down
