  1. Seek out caddycruiser for your answer... between his 2009 Pontiac G8 GT with the 19" summer tires and his mom's 2010 Camaro LT RS with the 20" summer tires, no one would know better than him. Don't think Delaware is exempt from snow, as they got pounded this past winter and he'd be more than happy to share his stories with you.
  2. Do you have a picture of this one available? Is it in special packaging? I've been to several Wamarts this weekend looking for a new toaster (wife had to have an exact one), and checked out all their toy depts and did not see one of these trucks available yet (though surprisingly I found two 2001 "Heros" edition MB trucks). It took me a while to find the one I did, haven't seen anymore since, and I had to make sure the little guy did not see the one I bought. My general rule is that I buy two of whatever I'm getting, one for me to keep in the package and one for him to have/open/play with. I did that with my step-son and continue with Justin. Of course the wife hates the ton of cars over the years (yeah, both mine and the boys!!).
  3. Since May 31st is Pontiac's official last day in existence, I'm going to assume that all Pontiac dealership signage will begin to be removed around that time. Hummer still has inventory out there, and until it all sells I'm thinking the signage will remain up. Most of the Saturn dealerships I've passed by in southern New Jersey have been occupied by other franchises, so the Saturn signs have long been removed. I'm going to the Pontiac dealership where my wife bought her G6 tonight for a service visit, so I'll check to see if their Pontiac signage is still in place or covered up (they haven't had a new Pontiac in inventory since the beginning of January). The BPG dealership I bought the Envoy from still had all their Pontiac signs in place last week.
  4. Figures... I didn't bother with checking out the Volt b/c I've already seen enough of it at this year's Philly Auto Show. And I had asked about other vehicles not there but not the PPV My loss...
  5. Where was it? It'll admit I wasn't in the Chevy area long due to the large crowds, spent most of my time there checking out the cruze's. Damn, I hope they removed it after the media days b/c I'll be mad that I missed it (it was the one car I really wanted to see there).
  6. I went on Monday and like your sentiments ocnblu, was disappointed by the lack of new product reviews and missing show vehicles (no XTS, no PPV, limited 2011 HD trucks on display). But I was happy to see the GMC Granite concept vehicle and the Buick Regal GS show car, and get to sit in the Cruze and Regal CXL cars. This year's GMC display was the biggest & best I've ever seen in NYC, and I've gone to every NYIAS since 1995.
  7. Finally!!! I had to turn on the a/c yesterday afternoon b/c the dogs were dying (us too!) by day 3 of the heatwave and my 4 y-o son's allergies kicked in big time. I knew the a/c wouldn't be on long, but the inside of my house was 88 degrees!! I am more than happy to have the cooler weather return.
  8. Found only one Ecto-1 so far, but no MC SS. I guess it's still not out yet? I was very surprised to find the '57 GMC stepside pickup though, and at more than one Target. Recently, I picked up the 2nd color release of the HW '09 CTS-V - now in a maroon metallic color. Also spotted the HW '10 Camaro SS in silver with red lower accents and Indy 500 logos on the doors at Walmart.
  9. 2010 GMC Sierra 'special edition' in laser blue metallic at the dealership where I bought the Envoy:
  10. (Mom's was a maroon color with maroon half vinyl padded top, with the Pontiac Rallye Rims) My mom & dad bought a brand-new 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ in the spring of that year. While they had a bunch of other new cars prior (always for my mom, my dad had older, used cars) including a '78 or '79 Ford Granada, the Pontiac was the best looking vehicle to date in our driveway (I was 8 y-o at the time). Since the GP was mom's car, and being that I spent a lot of time with my mom as my dad worked nights, the Pontiac was the primary car I was driven around in. We took that car every where - holidays, family trips, errands, you name it. When I was about 12 I started to be responsible for cleaning the car and making sure mom's ride was always nice looking. When it came time to learn how to drive, the GP was the car I learned to drive on. I owe my love for the Pontiac brand to that car (service was done at the dealer for many years, and I came to love the newer Pontiacs I'd get to see), and it's one of the reasons why I want to buy a '81-'87 GP as my cruiser when it becomes economically sensible to do so. Before you ask "why not a truck?', it's because the trucks when I was younger were either old family machines or used trucks. I love trucks due to my grandfather's '55 GMC 102 (8' bed half-ton). It was the truck used by all family members for hauling needs, it's the truck my grandfather would let me 'play-drive' in the driveway, and when parked due to a blown engine, it became the backyard playground equipment I grew up with. My uncle was a Ford F150 man and had a few used ones when I was growing up, but neighbors had cool GMCs and Chevies in the neighborhood that I grew fond of more than the Fords.
  11. Can you use the claybar on glass surfaces and chromed plastic trim? How about clear plastic and black plastic trim? On rims (especially chrome)?
  12. The paint looks great on both the '06 GMC Envoy and the '08 Pontiac G6. The G6 was detailed last July and waxed with the Meguire's NXT wax, so while not in too bad of shape it will defintely benefit from the claybar job. At 4 years old, when you rub your hand alongside the Envoy it is not smooth, so I can't tell when it was last waxed (if ever), and feel the claybar will do a phenomenal job with the smoothness I am looking for (especially after the waxing). And it looks like I will have some great weather towards the end of this week and at the beginning of next week for spring break - sunny, warm, in the upper 60s/low 70s
  13. Very lucky shopping day Saturday - hit a couple of retail stores in southern NJ after getting some service work done on the Envoy. All found in the Deptford, NJ shopping area: HW Ecto-1 @ Wal-Mart; cool new HW 2010 truck-based Rapid Response (ambulance) @ Toys R Us; MB finds @ Target - 2010 Ford Raptor in orange and the 1957 GMC 100 stepside pickup!!; the JL red '92 GMC Typhoon @ Toys R Us in Cherry Hill; finally, the HW 2010 "City Works" GMC Motorhome 'shuttle' @ Wal-Mart in Cherry Hill. If anyones interested in photos of any of the above, let me know and I'll post some soon.
  14. This is where the Hummer H3 line-up could come into play for GMC, and the Hx Concept would be a great start. Toyota brought back the FJ Cruiser name for their modern-day off-roader, the Hx could be the modern-day GMC Jimmy
  15. I recently purchased this product to use on both my '06 GMC Envoy and the wife's '08 Pontiac G6 during my spring break (less than two weeks away!!). If you have used this product before, care to share your opinion(s) on it? Any issues to be aware of? Will the kit be enough to do both of my vehicles? Anything else you want to share? TIA!!
  16. Good point z28luvr01, just in case I don't take the wife's car to work that day I do have two Pontiac-themed ties I can wear that day - one GTOs and the other Firebirds. Now just to find them in the closet
  17. Thanks! Me too... 21 months since the last GMC and truck, so my patience paid off I just didn't feel right being called "GMTruckGuy74" without owning a truck Thanks! Thanks for the info on the Chimsl. I am definitely enjoying it so far. I was initially excited about the new '10 GMC Terrain, but the back seat width is not accommodating for three across (especially with one child booster seat, a soon-to-arrive infant carrier, and one adult and/or tall teen), and cargo space is limited in the rear area. Add in the fact that I want the V6 engine, AWD, and the SLT-2 package (all expensive options), and considering that it's not really a truck-based SUV (lower ground clearance, lower towing rating, doesn't have that 'truck' presence - when compared to an Envoy), it made my decision to find a CPO Envoy easier. I still like the Terrain and will recommend it to people that need a decent-sized family of 4 hauler, but for now it's not the CUV for me.
  18. Thank you! While I've never owned a white vehicle, and was not out specifically looking for white, I do like white on trucks and the paint on this truck is in phenomenal shape for being 4 years old. It's bright and clean and looks very nice in person. I purchased the Meguire's clay bar kit this past weekend and will give the truck a full-detail over spring break in less than two weeks. The 4.2 Atlas I6 engine was a very good engine in our leased 2005 Envoy SLT 4WD (it gave us great service during its 34 month, 44k tenure), and was one of the reasons I wanted another GMT-360. The 17" chrome rims were new on the Envoy for 2006 and are re-capped Oldsmobile Bravada (and Buick Rainier) rims - though I prefer the new-for-2007 18" polished rims better (and will likely look for a take-off set at this year's car shows). While not as unique or offers the presence the '96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham did, I am much happier with the Envoy and look forward to taking it on road trips soon (with the FWB, I was not as confident taking it on long distances). Thanks for the compliment!!
  19. See link for more information and to sign up so GM knows you intend to drive your Pontiac on June 1st, 2010: http://www.pontiactributeday.com/
  20. Here's more that came into consideration today:
  21. +1 on that thought. I think people will be confused by it and I want something people look at and figure it out sorta quickly.
  22. Yeah, I've noticed some of the more active people are no longer around, and some non-core people too that posted from time-to-time have disappeared. Come back - you're all missed!!
  23. I've wanted a personalized license plate for some time now, but with leasing it was impossible in the state of NJ. Now that I financed the 2006 GMC Envoy SLT, I am motivated to act quickly on getting a plate all of my own. Below are some of the suggestions I and/or the wife came up with; please vote on your favorite of the following choices, OR if I haven't been creative enough, please make YOUR 7-character suggestion in a post (bonus points to anyone that comes up with a great 5-character suggestion). TIA for your participation!!
