2015 GMC Canyon Build & Price Site Now Live

2015 Canyon brochure in pdf is now available: http://www.gmc.com/content/dam/GMC/g...n-brochure.pdf'>http://www.gmc.com/content/dam/GMC/g...n-brochure.pdf -
No, the 2001-2014 Suburban Z71s looked just like the Tahoes (there was no Z71 package on the Suburban in 1999; just the suspension option). The 2006-2013 Avalanche also had the same Z71 appearance package; I'd argue the 1st gen Av had an offroad look with its body hardware package (cladding). The Av 'WBH' (without body hardware) was a strange looking rig!! All said, I'm hoping that the 2015 Z71 Tahoe & Suburban have some additional bodywork on them to differeniate them from non-Z71 models and also give them a beefier look for what is supposed to be an offroad package. I don't have high hopes though!!

I'm available (well, I can take a sick day). Where you at? I'll hold the camera for you, and you can do the same for me when I get to drive it I know there are some additional incentives out there, but not everyone will qualify for all of the incentives, or you have to give up the rebate for the low finance rate. I'm showing two examples of trucks I would have the dealer order, as there's no way a truck is out there sitting on a lot the way I want it (trust me, I look a lot!). If I'm going to pay that much, I want exactly what I want without compromise. Looking forward to your review of the 'first drive' of the new GM mid-size trucks. Do you get to drive both or just one (GMC or Chevy)? -
24 hours is quickly approaching... and you are where?

I could have swore that a poster here was specifically looking for the long bed model. I can't remember if they wanted the 8' or 9' model, but I think the 9' bed was only available on the C-30 (1-ton) model. I guess this is going back a few years and the poster is no longer around Honestly, if this was an automatic trans model I'd be interested. I like the look of the long bed models as they are rare. I can find a dozen GMC/Chevy short bed stepsides on CL at this time

2015 GMC Canyon Build & Price Site Now Live
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in GMC Trucks
Since I qualify for GM Supplier Pricing, I've built a 2015 Chevy Colorado LT Crew Cab Long Bed 4WD (Canyon is not available to build yet) and a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Crew Cab Standard Bed 4WD (2015 1500 FS trucks are not available to build yet). Colorado: Sierra: There is a big difference = $7,312 to be exact - in the price between the two trucks (Sierra $45,511 WITH rebates and Colorado $38,199 WITHOUT any rebates). Plus there is the size and capabilities difference and the fuel savings between the two truck sizes. Not everyone needs a full size pickup but may want a pickup truck that suites their needs. -

You're so lucky Apparently on other forums there are pictures of car carriers with Canyons & Colorados on their way to the dealerships right now. A poster that supposedly works for GM stated that yesterday the order was given to greenlight the shipping to commerce (send to dealers). My GMC dealership is awaiting two Crew Cab SLT long bed models; I'll be called as soon as they are on lot ready for a test drive. I still think you'll get behind the wheel of one before me, Drew -
Oh boy!! (2005 GMC Sierra Sportside)
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
Well I meant a GMC Sierra regular cab sportside model. I already have a G6 (2008) that now has 104k miles on it (bought it new with just 2 miles on the odometer ) -

That is true unless you order the SLT trim (leather). -

Thank you for posting that follow-up. Clay. Today I would be in a better position to move on that Sierra, but that's water under the bridge. Feel free to message me if you ever come across another fine example like that one -

Buick News: Buick Debuts Envision Crossover In China
GMTruckGuy74 replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
A lot of CUVs on the market today remind me of jacked up minivans... -
In the late '90s ('99 I think) Chevy Tahoes gained an aggressive looking Z71 package that continued in 2001-2006. I think the package was toned down slightly for 2007-2014 models but it appears the 2015 pacjage will be suspension and decals only.

I'm glad you posted that, balthazar! I've seen that at least twice to & from work on Route 1 in the Princeton/West Windsor area. Awesome looking vehicle to see on the road; not sure I'd drive that at AM & PM rush hours on Route 1 though EDIT: 1949 REO Speedwagon - it's a rolling (mobile) brick pizza oven!! http://www.nomadpizzaco.com/pizza-truck.html

How's the Mothertruck? Any progress on that?

Here's my summary using Cars.com to build out my 2015 GMC Canyon SLT (4LT Equipment Package) 4WD Crew Cab Long Bed: Two options that I am not 100% positive about are the 5" Rectangular Chrome Assist Steps ($725) and the Nav/Radio Upgrade ($495). If I remove those the MSRP drops to $39,575. I don't have running boards on my '06 Envoy (though my '05 Envoy did have them) and I'm not sure I want the navigation system for $495 when I still have a very usable Garmin. The only factory option I wanted but didn't include was the cloth or vinyl tonneau cover - I would prefer the tri-fold hard tonneau cover available on the Sierra over the Canyon's cloth or vinyl option. I heard earlier this year that a dealer accessory item would be BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires and I would seriously consider those over the Goodyear All Season tires that will come standard. Then there's the DVD player dealer accessory item that I know my kids will kill me for if I don't include it

Was in Lancaster, PA yesterday and saw numerous cool vehicles (there was an evening car show I couldn't get to but passed many cool cars & trucks on their way to the show - '56 Ford Crown Vic, '32 Ford Hotrod, '41 and '72 Chevy Pickups, and more). On the PA Turnpike in the morning in the opposite direction was a car hauler with an unrestored '57 Chevy 3100 stepside pickup on the way to its new owner. Went to dinner at Miller's Smorgasbord and in the parking lot was an awesome condition '92 Cadillac Brougham in Blue Chip Metallic (briefly spoke with the owner):

To T/A, or Not to T/A, that is the question!!
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
My wife's is a 2008; I must say it reminds me a lot of my 2007 Saturn AURA XE (3.5L V6) than it does of my 2004 Chevy Malibu LT (3.5L V6). My dad had a 2006 G6 V6 Sedan and it felt very different from my wife's 2008. I wonder if the intro of the AURA had an effect on the G6 for 2007/2008 since they shared the same platform? For the time being I have passed on the '00 T/A and am still moving forward with the '15 Canyon once they hit the dealer lots for a test drive Though I was in Lancaster (PA) Friday and picked up the Auto Exchange used car booklet and found at least two interesting '90s GM vehicles that have caught my attention -

GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
Awe, come on guys! The G6 isn't that bad of a car. I like it much better than my '04 Malibu though I think my '07 Aura was more stylish overall. I've been driving that G6 over 6 years now and it's a decent car -
I've seen numerous pictures on the 'Net with incorrect trim/package parts. For example, an All Terrain Canyon with the chrome grille surround (not body-color painted). Parts binning for sure at this point. My fear is that GM is banking on the Canyon/Colorado to replace the 1500 series full-size pickups in the near future. They keep calling the new truck lineup the Small(Canyon/Colorado), Medium (1500) and Large (2500/3500) approach which makes me think that the 1500 goes away for a true 'small' to come along.Call me crazy, but that's my fear

To T/A, or Not to T/A, that is the question!!
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
Boy am I getting the guilt trip from my 9-year old son for not "jumping on the T/A"!! He says to us tonight, "Mom's all for it and says do it, why haven't you called the guy yet?" He's usually all for the Canyon but I think he wants the T/A when he turns 17 Good kid Having given it some more thought, I'd be basing my decision making process off of too much emotion with the T/A. If cash were no issue it may be a different story. But seeing as how I really want a new 2015 Canyon, I think I'll channel some additional patience -
To T/A, or Not to T/A, that is the question!!
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
The T/A wouldn't be a daily driver, it would be a family fun car for weekends and special occasions (even car shows). Instead of getting a new Canyon, I'd inherit the wife's '08 G6 Sedan as my daily in place of the Envoy (and future Canyon replacement) and the Envoy would be traded in for a small car for the wife (likely a lease, maybe an Encore if the price was right or a Verano [my recommendation] or a Ford Fiesta or Focus [her non-GM likes]). But I get your point, Bill. The T/A, even with low mileage and general maintenance, would be an older car purchase that would need to be financed to make it happen. Plus deep down I know I love the T/A but will miss not having a GMC in the stable. And of course seeing the Canyons on the street in the very near future will possibly make me regret this decision. But oh the memories of cruising to the Jersey shore in my '95 T/A with the t-tops out and the sound of the custom exhaust system rumbling from the LT1 V8
