M2 Auto Haulers...coming in 2011
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Merchandise Lookout
Can anyone else envision the second trailer done up in a GM Motorama motiff? -
Courtesy of http://m2machines.blogspot.com/; 1958 Chevrolet LCF & two different trailer designs (still concept): Can't wait to find these & find out what other trucks will be released by M2 in 2011

Hot Wheels 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Merchandise Lookout
I've had that one for almost a month now. Much better looking than the bright kelly green one, though I was hoping for the repaint to be in white -
Thanks for posting!! I saw all of these over the weekend while at work (Toys R Us), and bought the '67 Firebird. I also found a HW's City Services Hummer H2 SUT done up in El Segundo black & white police markings, which is another new 2011 model I believe. I'll take a picture of it tonight and post it in here. No new MBX at work; there was one case but nothing new in there (must be an older box that's been sitting in the stock room). I really want the Holden Ute and CTS Wagon. BTW Olds Guy, do you know anything about a carded HWs '97 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 done up in black & white police markings? I've seen it twice now in a 10-count box, but have not seen it on the shelf. I'd really like that one for my collection, but don't want 9 other cars I don't need or already have. Just curious if you know anything about this particular car.

Ok, that's not what I'd be doing with that beautiful truck But what a beautiful truck it is ocnblu, stop posting these teasing truck porn videos . You're killing me here!! Actually, go find me so equally impressive GMC vids

O. M. G. . . . . I so badly want a mid-'50s GM truck My grandpa's '55 also had push button Starr, but I think my uncle added that in the late '60s.

Welcome back, Olds Guy!! You know I'm glad to see you posting again. Thanks for the update on the 2011 HWs. I bought my first one the other day - the green '72 Ford Gran Torino. I'll be on the lookout for others. How about the 2010 Matchbox releases: Holden Ute, Cadillac CTS Wagon (any others I'm missing)? I have yet to see them on store shevles. Any GM 2010 HWs I'm leaving out too? I now work P/T for my local Toys R Us. They get new shipments of toys on Wednesdays, so when I go in tomorrow I will check to see if they got in any cases of MBX or HWs cars. The main reason for this job is the extra pay & employee discount for Christmas shopping, the secondary reason is to get my hands on some unopened cases of MBX & HWs cars

Yes, seconds here. Thanks go out to all the vets that protect (or protected) our freedoms, whether you are a poster here or one of your family members is.

Not to hijack your thread black-knight, but in addition to the contingent full-time job I started on October 11th I also got a second job (part-time) at my local Toys R Us store, which I started last Friday. I was hired, and pretty quickly too, because of the holiday shopping season (it is just a seasonal job until the beginning of January). I had to get a p/t job because I need that extra money in order to provide a Christmas for my family, and knowing a lot of boy toys (especially diecast ) I figured I could manage helping customers out. Congrats on the job and I hope it works out in reaching all of your financial goal(s).

I think I'm going to get that plate made into 4-5 inch tall letters in vinyl for the top of my windshield, printed backwards (like on ambulances) so that when I come up behind people they can read it in their rearview mirror and hopefully take the hint (or because the Envoy is taller than most cars, made I'll splurge for one of those bug deflectors and put it on there instead)

You could have enjoyed this southern California sunset more though: No one seems to know where mysterious missile launched near L.A. came from http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20101109/od_yblog_upshot/no-one-seems-to-know-where-mysterious-missile-launched-near-la-came-from

While I like that design/styling, I still prefer the '55-'59 years more:
-
Sure, thanks! Even pics of them both would be great, if you can make it happen (at your convenience though!!)

Hope your birthday was a great one, former Jerseyian!!

Is it just sitting, needing a resto? For sale? I LOVE the GM panel trucks of the mid-'50s, even Chevies. I'd love to own a GMC or Chevy panel truck one day.

I was behind this '03-'06 Chevy Silverado this morning on the way in to work. The truck is not so much my point as is the tailgate. I really liked that Chevy was putting the "CHEVROLET" letters on the tailagtes again with the '99 redesign, even if it was only on the basic models of the Silverado (the Avalanche benefited too). It was a throwback to older Chevy pickups and I liked it better than the big bowtie emblem as seen on the '07+ Silverado or the smaller CHEVROLET emblem that was started in '92. I wish it would come back on the new Silverados, and of course a larger "GMC" emblem than the current small one on the Sierra. Anyway, this truck was cool because it was a regualr cab shortbed 2WD pickup modified to look like the '03-'06 Silverado SS (the frontend was used, along with the rims, and if the rear rollpan isn't from the SS it sure looked like it was). The only thing that stood out in a wierd way was that the owner left the factory side trim on that the SS did not have. How do I know this? eventually I passed him in creeping traffic when he exited the highway.

Oh, I kinda do to and would enjoy it that way until I could make it the way I'd want. The upper & middle grille bars would have to be corrected though as soon as I got it; they and the bumper are all suppose to be either painted white or chromed. I wonder if it has it's original V8 engine and Hydramatic transmission? I did e-mail the seller for the price, but hate to "kick the tires" with any other questions since I know I'm not in the position to make the purchase.

Of course there's this mislabeled '56 GMC for sale too on CL in the Philadelphia region: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/2023818641.html It's only $4k, and even though it looks like a basketcase early CL ads this summer showed the extra parts you'd get, namely a much better looking cab with doors. It's still about $3k out of my price range

Thanks for the responses Camino. Not that there's anything wrong with the grille you have; it is accurate for the model year compared to the '83s. I wasn't sure if the bed was long or short, seeing as how it didn't originally come with one, but after looking through the two posts I did notice the new bedsides you have are the long version after I already asked. I've always liked the look of the 3+3 Crew Cab long bed without the dual rear wheels. Does the Mothertruck have a dent in the roof? I see that it also has the grab handles installed on the roof too. That is why I thought you were going to swap the cabs out, plus the fact it wouldn't require as much prep for painting (with the blue stripe on the Mothertruck). Either way, getting the donor truck would expedite your project timeline. With all of your time, effort and hard work, this will be one great looking Chevy 3+3 in the end. Keep us updated please!!

If I had the money to buy it, I'd eventually want it to look something like this (not sure about what color I'd want though):
-
V8 + Automatic, can be driven anywhere, comes with extra parts... all for $10k (which I'm about $9k short)... My birthday is coming up next month, and this would be the present of a lifetime (hint, hint)
