  1. Any idea of the asking price? Any other pictures you may have taken?
  2. Contrats and on your new purchase!! I hope it provides many happy, stress-free motoring miles for you. And as Dodgefan already said, post more pictures or GTFO By the way, here's hoping this is the last you'll see of this:
  3. A Peterbilt car carrier body with about 5 modern cars and on the very back a restored '59 El Camino with modern rims & tires in black with a red chrome stripe insert color. It passed me in the other direction (NB) on Route 1 outside of Princeton Friday evening on the way home from work.
  4. Craigslist.org, because only the most serious of car buyers shop there I agree with balthy, Hemmings would reach such a wide audience of possible interested parties, and might secure you a buyer willing to pay what you want. Of course there are a ton of Ebay stories I've read in car magazines in which people have found their dream cars there. The one main problem I could see would be getting the price you want, as Ebay tends to sell to bargain shoppers.
  5. for a very Walt!!
  6. Yes, definitely a very beautiful car, even as a non-GXP. LOVE those rims!
  7. Over the past several days I've been thinking of intrigued's new 2012 Mustang GT Premium response in the "Any changes to your "automotive family" soon?" thread and how there is not a vehicle I currently drool over that I could afford now or next year (trust me, I drool over the 2011 GMC Sierra Denali plenty, just cannot afford a new one now or in the near future). I remember in the late '80s through the mid part of this decade always lusting over something attainable. I guess the prices today, the lack of funds and credit on my end, just make it impossible for me to lust over anything much. However, there is something I wish I could have, if offered here in the states, if I had the funds: 2011 Holden SV6 Ute or Commodore SV6 Sportswagon: If those were on sale here in the states, I'd be at the closest dealership at least once a week drooling over them. What would you choose if you had the option?
  8. Seriously, that dream was too life-like... almost like an out-of-body experience... and no, I don't do drugs before bedtime
  9. Can't say I'm a fan of the '74 frontend design: Now a '75 would elicit a different emotion from me: On a different note, I had a dream last night in which an elderly couple offered me their white with maroon interior '84 Grand Prix LE with t-tops for $600... a foretelling of the future???

  11. The original '73-'78 GMC Motorhomes were the inspiration for the concept 2006 GMC PAD shown at that years' LA AUto Show: Links: http://www.gmcpedia.org/gmc-pad-concept http://www.diseno-art.com/encyclopedia/archive/gmc_pad.html Also, the GMC PAD looks like this: Plus this: Had a love child:
  12. Did it look like the one posted in the GMC section, with exposed rocker panel mounting holes, or did this one actually have the extension panels installed? Here... this is the one I'm talking about:
  13. GMC Accessories sells these parts through the dealership. Only the SLT-2 comes with the chrome package standard, but many owners want those items for their non SLT-2 Terrains that GMC came out with a chrome package option. If she really wants those items (chrome grille insert, chrome door handles, chrome mirror caps), they are available through the GMC parts/service department
  14. http://www.autoshopper.com/used-cars/1997_Pontiac_Trans_Am_Easton_PA-4503207.htm If I only had that much cash on hand right now... My favorite Firebirds... '68 Firebird 400, '77-'78 TA SE (aka Bandit TA), '87-'92 GTA (especially '91-'92), '94 25th TA Anniversary, '97 TA WS6 Raim Air t-top coupe
  15. 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE Sedan - 108k, $3,200 OBO http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/2285822718.html 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Coupe - 134k, $2,500 OBO http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/2307790801.html So the step-son will be turning 17 years old in less than three weeks (4/24) and currently has his learner's permit (behind the wheel test for license is scheduled for September). He, after not being interested in driving at all the last two years, has now developed a taste for wanting to drive and would like a car. My wife has not been a happy camper about this, but is getting more use to the idea of her first child getting behind the wheel. He's been saving 95% of his paychecks since he started working at a Regal Cinemas last August, in addition to what his mother and I hope to provide (maybe the grandparents will contribute too). After discussing it with my wife, we decided a cash deal would be the way to go for a used car purchase in order to save on insurance costs. We feel $2,500 is possible between what he has saved (not using all of his money btw) and what we can contribute. Surprisingly, he wants an American car. Yesterday while out practice driving and running some errands, he parked next to a late '90s GP sedan and commented to us that he liked "those cars". My wife was happy, as she fondly remembers her leased '00 GP GT Sedan. So I was told to see what I could find in our designated price range. Above are two CL finds. Since I'm a member of AAA, I intend to take any car we consider to an AAA-authorized repair facility for an inspection. Before we get to that point, is there anything specific I should look for upon a first look of any W-body GP?
  16. Late model Impala?
  17. Congrats! Great car. Do you have a preferred GMC dealer you 've worked with?
  18. The SKY rims you put on are nice, but I like these GXP rim's better on the Solstice:
  19. I'll be at the All-GM Nationals in Carlisle, PA on Saturday, June 25. Maybe we'll have to meet up! Find out who else is going to be there and have a C&G Luncheon
  20. I defintely agree with you 100%... since I don't have the funds available for multiple purchases and upkeep, whatever I decide will have to be completely satisfactory. I definitely want an '81-'87 Grand Prix, and that white '87 LE is on the top of the list for that model. However, there is another '80s GP - maroon, like my mom's '83 LJ - that I've been keeping an eye on, I think with T-tops nonetheless, that is more of a restoration candidate than the '87 LE (driver) though. I think I need to leave a note on that one Cort, of course your an inspiration! I won't be able to do everything on a vehicle I buy, so that's not even a point. You're an inspiration because no matter what you go through, you make your passion for the cars you love known to all, and do what you can to enjoy them to the fullest. I'm sure with the cash I'll eventually have it won't give me a concours ready showcar But whatever I buy will be something I absolutely love, care for and be passionate about - like you
  21. Thanks! I'll have to make a trip out soon for some. Where's the best place to buy it from? Also, is it a spray like WD-40 or in a tube?
  22. Thanks Oldsmoboi, SAmadei, and wildmanjoe for your replies. The Envoy is running good, so there is no *need* for the tune-up (I was mistaken then about the 5 years/100k mileage). The truck did have a slight idle problem last May (?) and one of the spark plugs was bad - replaced under warranty - so I'm sure the other 5 are good still. Coolant flush and transfer case fluids sound pretty easy to do, and my township has a fluid recycling center to bring old fluids to; my neighbor is a shade tree mechanic, so maybe I'll ask him to help with these two fixes. The local L-O-F/Car Wash shop I typically use offers the fuel injector cleaning service, but I'm not sure what system they use. I want the truck to run right, and being 5 years old now, feel a cleaning might do it well (especially since car/truck show season is around the corner and the Envoy will see frequent highway trips <PA Turnpike, Northeast Extension, NJ Turnpike, Route 295) and a cleaner running vehicle is a more fuel efficient vehicle The G6's brakes are giving off the indications it's time for service, the Envoy not so much. Next tire rotation - free now at the place I purchased the tires at - I'll ask for a brake inspection. And finally, the last time I was at the dealership for a warranty repair, the service advisor recommended the 50k mileage service for the Envoy on it's next visit, so I'll check into what that offers to make sure it's worth the money. Oh, and for squeaky doors... WD-40, or is there something better to use?
  23. I found it at K-mart, though the MBX website says that Wal-Mart, Kroger, and Toys R Us will sell them too. Good luck on the hunt! Now I just need a real '55-'57 GMC of my own to put this model on to copy your photo threads
  24. Can't wait to see the pics and more 'deets' I wonder just how many Terrains are sold in black? A good majority of dealer inventories I've seen contain black Terrains, and many of the advertisements (printed, TV, Internet) contain black Terrains. My favorite color is the dark red
  25. Hmmm.. for years when I was a teenager, the Corvette was the 'halo' car for me. I told my parents that one day I'd buy a brand new Corvetter (okay, so I was 14 and very dreamy-eyed). As I aged the Corvette still was a halo car for me, but not as important. I'm 36 years old now and still like them, but feel the pricing is out of this world to ever be attainable (well, maybe when all my kids are gone - another 15 years!). The Corvette should remain a halo car and GM should make damn sure that the next generation knocks the socks off young kids. THe Stingray concept car, as featured in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, garnered a lot of positive comments from young kids to teenagers to 'older folks' who were around me at both the Philadelphia and New York auto shows (2010). That's not to say that the regular production models on display didn't get a lot of traffic (the blue ZR1 sure did have it's own spotlight for sure), but the Stingray led people to it... mesmerized by the design. GM/Chevy needs to make sure the next gen has that kind of draw, and an awesome interior to boot, to bring new life to the Corvette line. A baby Corvette, a'la Kappa, would only be good if Corvette became it's own brand in Chevrolet dealerships, where those with track driving hobbies could buy either one and both could offer base, well-equipped, and overly loaded models to suit different budget-minded consumers looking for a 2-seat vehicle. However, if Corvette by Chevrolet doesn't happen, a baby Corvette would only add to an already packed lineup of Chevy vehicles. Going with a budget Corvette (cloth, fixed roof, single-zone HVAC, base aluminum rims) and then moving up to the ZR1 model on a redesigned (interior & exterior) Corvette would bring new sales to this historically 'halo' car.
