I've seen that on CL for a little while now, seems the price is finally coming down. The killer for me - and don't hate me for saying this - is that it's a manual-equipped truck. That makes it a very rare vehicle nonetheless, however: (A) I cannot drive stick (it's been over 12 years since I learned <late bloomer>, and 6 years since I last "drove" (if you'll call it that!) a manual-equipped car - the dealer-demo SKY in February '06 before I placed the order for mine), and (B) when it acts up, the gout/arthritis I suffer in both feet & knees makes it's hard enough to drive an automatic vehicle. Otherwise, for the price it's a decent buy for the right person and it's a well-equipped version too. I'd be really tempted if it had an auto though

After posting this here I did send an email before anyone replied about this being a scam... here's the response I received last night: I wish we could be like the “To Catch a Predator” series with Chris Hansen from NBC and expose these people for the scammers they are

I'm not really into piercings and tattoos, but for a little while now I've been thinking about getting a tattoo of my children's names & birth dates (something simple) and thought it would be a nice upcoming father's day gift for myself. So basically I decided that I wanted to find a Latin verse and get it tattooed with my children's names & birth dates below it. I'm thinking of this, and would like anyone who knows & understands Latin to make sure this is correct: amāre ad infinitum (love without end) I don't trust Google completely with this, as I won't have the money needed to remove it if incorrect

This is why GM should dust off the Hummer Hx Concept, rebody it for GMC, and put it into production ASAP. Make it more civilian than the Wrangler could ever be while retaining as much of the sacred "trail-rated" capabilities that were designed into it by Hummer

Back in 2002 or 2003 I saved up enough cash (give or take $400) and bought myself a new 35mm SLR camera - a Cannon EOS Rebel XSN: I loved that camera and used it for a couple of years, even though I received a small digital camera for my birthday in 2004 (the digital camera became my only used camera by 2005 or 2006). That camera has seen better days and I have to replace it. I'm no Chris Doane , but I do love taking pictures and have wanted a digital SLR camera for a little while. What I'd like to know if there is a recommended digital SLR for around $400 that I could buy? I also want to know if the 75-300mm lens I have for my 35mm SLR Cannon would work on a new digital SLR camera, as I would hate to lose out on such a great telephoto lens: Finally, and idea(s) on what I could get for my 35mm SLR? I have no use for it and it's been sitting in its camera bag in my closet unused for the past 5-6 years. I paid a good amount for it and would hate to just have to give it away.

Ford and Mercury co-existed for decades, and Chrysler and Plymouth co-existed for decades as well. Olds and Pontiac co-existed with Chevy and Buick for decades. Yet none of those worked out. I never thought GMC needed to stay past bankruptcy, but if they stick around (which I think they will) at least make every GMC a Denali, so they are more exclusive or different from Chevy. Oh yeah, because that's a formula for success in today's economic world (making all GMC's sold $50k+). It's not as impossible as you make it sound. The way it'll work is that ALL GMC dealerships and Chevy dealerships become Chevy-GMC dealerships (many already are anyway). Over the next 2~4 years Chevy begins to phase out all truck and SUV products; when current models get to the end of their life cycles they are simply phased out. All future GM trucks and SUVs starting from the next model cycle are GMCs. Buyers showing up looking for the Silverado or the Suburban gets shown the new Sierra and the new Yukon. Ok, in almost all of NJ I see Buick (formerly Pontiac) and GMC have been paired... only in one place do I know of Chevy & GMC trucks sharing the same lot - Flemington. As for the eastern side of PA, again I see GMC paired with Buick (even the biggest dealer in Bucks County, Reedman Toll Autos, is and has been Chevy Trucks only).

Great link on the XT-2 concept origins and some pictures: http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/stories/lookback/xt2/looking-back-at-1989-chevrolet-xt-2-concept.html I was a big '80s Pontiac concept car fan by 1989.. the the TranSport ('86), Pursuit ('87), Banshee ('88), Stinger ('89) and all of the '90s concept that followed. I got hooked on most of the Chevy ones too, but not like the '89 Chevy XT-2 concept. I LOVED that one the most from Chevrolet and was hoping to see it come to the light of day. But alas, GM never produced many of the '80s and early '90s concepts.

Buick tried with trucks, and failed. GM doesn't need anymore truck divisions, it should be limited to just Chevrolet and GMC brands only - Cadillac should be crossovers only (move the Escalade to Lambda). Again with the upmarket suggestions... yes there are a lot of consumers that have the $45K+ needed to buy Denali's and loaded up SLT-trimmed GMCs. But on the other end there are a lot of consumers that have under $35K to spend... why get rid of them? Same with Chevy Truck owners, they'll likely not want to go to GMC for their top-of-the-line trucks if they're Chevy fans (same with GMC owners). Look at how many SLE-trimmed Terrains are sold, and in the past SLE-trimmed Envoys, to see how this market would respond to a large increase in price. You'll drive away GMC's business and give GM enough reason to discontinue GMC without the lower-end models. So the best solution would to differentiate the two brands further apart. Differences in JUST grilles/headlights can no longer be the mode of GM. Different frontend styling AND different rear boxes are in order (GMC could offer the Pro-Tec beds where Chevies get the metal beds). Give the Silverado/Tahoe/Suburban a different interior from the Sierra/Yukon/Yukon XL (could have been easily done with the 2007 models - two dashes are currently used). Make GMCs come with a standard set of upgraded features that increase the MSRP, whereas the Chevy has a basic set of features that can be upgraded in packages (like the current Equinox and Terrain), and give GMC some luxury options (ex. Heads Up Displays) that you can;t get on a Chevy. Offer different premium seat fabrics and interior colors for the GMCs that you can't get in a Chevy. Heck, I would even make color choices different - basics like white, silver, red, black can be shared, but give the GMCs more premium paint colors that won't be offered on the Chevies (dark reds, grays & blues, metallic black and white). Basically treat GMC and Chevy Trucks like how Cadillac and Chevy Cars have always been treated and you'll see why some people will prefer the GMC over the Chevy. Also, with today's economy and people's financial woes, you can't make GMC the $50k+ trucks and expect the brand to survive - it just doesn't make good business sense.

GTC Concept To Spawn A Production Version.. (We Think, Maybe)
GMTruckGuy74 replied to William Maley's topic in Opel/Vauxhall
The roofline reminds me of the Pontiac G6 Coupe... -
Sure it wasn't just a cap on the back of a new Super Duty? Nope...by the way, there is a company that retrofits used Excursions w/ the new front end and interior parts, etc... J/k with you! I'm sure there are people out there that still want a "new" Ford Excursion.

New CAT/Navistar International On Highway & Vocational trucks

New CAT/Navistar International On Highway & Vocational trucks
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in The Lounge
The CT610 and CT630 I don't think are needed... they're just rebadged with new grilles International trucks. The CT660 will sell to CAT construction equipment owners looking to keep "everything in the family", and all of their service needs can be handled by one dealer/outfit. Though all of the orders for the CT660 from the Conexpo-Con/Agg construction industry conference have been sold out... and I can see the CT660 taking some business from the other heavy truck manufacturers (Mack, Peterbilt, Volvo, Kenworth). -
Camaro Crucificxion, Take Two: T/A Depot's GTO Goat
GMTruckGuy74 replied to Blake Noble's topic in Heritage Marques
I already posted this picture, taken from the Scale Auto Model magazine in January, that I feel makes for a better looking 5th Generation Camaro-morphed-into-a-modern-GTO: -
They can't go too high without getting into Cadillac's space...they have the bling lux market covered w/ the Escalade..(the Yukon Denali seems to be in the same space). Cadillacs aren't really off-roaders. Neither are GMCs. Ah, but they can easily be made into off-roaders, as GMC has shown us with the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD Concept: Take the Hummer formula and add it to any of the GMC models currently sold and you've got your answer: re-body the Hummer Hx Concept into a new 21st century GMC Jimmy, put the chassis of the Hummer H3T pickup under the GMC Canyon and you've got another All Terrain model to sell, apply the same chassis of the Sierra All Terrain HD Concept to the Yukon (regular length model, though you could also give the Yukon XL this treatment too) and viola! - another off-roader. Hell, offer a factory 4x4D model for the Savana, as the aftermarket company Quigley Motor Company does with the Ford Econoline vans, and you've got anotehr off-road vehicle. I would go as far to say that GMC should even up-the-anty on the Terrain and offer an off-road suspension on the Theta platform for a more agressive GMC Terrain model. See how easily this can be done?

For those of you who have seen my post regarding my volunteering as a fire police officer with my local fire dept and the '06 Ford F-350 Super Duty Crew Cab utility truck I get to drive, I spotted the previous truck the dept used to own last night at the local mall: Even though this truck was still in use when I moved into the town in 2004, I don't think I noticed it much (maybe once or twice, thinking how nice it was to see an older Chevy truck still in use). I defintely noticed the Ford when it was bought, as it was shown off prominently at all community events. There are a couple of older photos at the station showing all of the older fleet (station opened in '78, and a '50s/'60s Mack B-Model pumper was once of the first trucks in service), including this Chevy Cheyenne crew cab (3+3) in better days.

1959 gmc Truck (Philadelphia)
GMTruckGuy74 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
I didn't realize there was a repro available... I just figured a reasonably rust free hood would be much harder to find, especially considering shipping if it has to come to the east coast from the desert. Thats a pricy repro, though... $660... a far cry from the repros for the '73-'90 trucks. Hopefully for that money, its a quality piece. Its pretty sweet how many parts are available for these now. Including the $9000 cab, you can basically build one of these from scratch. Now I'm getting interested in a '50s GM pickup. Yeah, I have the LMC Truck catalog at home for Chevy & GMC trucks of this vintage... trust me, there's all sorts of metal parts available to fix whatever is needed. I like the roof-swap suggestion though, because any donor '55-'59 GM truck could be used.
