  1. A 1976 model (23') was in the AACA Fall Eastern Meet judging (show) yesterday in Hershey... and a ton more could be found throughout the vendor fields, still in great driver shape. Makes me want GMC to bring these back, even as a limited production run!
  2. 1946 GMC Pick-up Ornament, $19.99 + S&H (2nd in the series): http://gmccollection.com/itemdetails.aspx?productID=6095 GMC Logo Ornament, $19.99 + S&H (1st in the series): http://gmccollection.com/itemdetails.aspx?productID=6094 Orders must be placed before November 11, otherwise the production amount may not be reached and these ornaments will be cancelled.
  3. ocnblu, I have a feeling the Colorado will come here just as it's been shown (no different face), but that's where the GMC comes in for the NA market (maybe it will have the tougher looking face, much like how the Equinox/Terrain are differentiated). I know GMC dealers will be up in arms without a pickup truck replacement for the current Canyon (can you imagine a truck division losing out on a pickup?), just like back in 2003 when the Colorado was announced as the S-10's replacement and the GMC Sonoma was suppose to die off.

  5. Saw at Ebersole Buick GMC in Lebanon, PA (near the hotel we're staying at) last night on the way to dinner (front pic didn't save for some reason?). 2011 SLE, almost perfertly loaded (just missing the rear window defroster & power driver seat).
  6. Or how about: "Now just wait one moment..."
  7. How about this: RIGHT-ON OR RIP-OFF?
  8. Minnesota
  9. How much earlier?
  10. toy
  11. Are you happy with the rear bumper?
  12. Okay GM, now bring on the Colorado for the US markets, and more importantly, bring out the GMC version
  13. Route 1 Northbound on the way into work (Princeton) this morning in the right lane was a new-ish silver Subaru Impreza WRT with a huge whale-tail spoiler, going slow. As I passed on the left, I looked over to see a man that appeared to be in his early 50's driving!! I guess the old saying, "You can sell an old guy a young man's car but you can't sell an old man's car to a young guy", is true!!
  14. Good job with the recovery. Your text comments were great! Why no video of you landing it/cut out the camera? I think you're doing a great job with only 5 hours experience. Back when I was in 7th or 8th grade ('87 or '88), we had to go to the Career Center and study potential careers we wanted. At that time my dad had a friend at the local Air National Guard building that was a helicopter pilot and that career intrigued me enough that I studied up on it. That was until I realized my poor eyesight would prevent me from going into this field Now watching your video I don't know if I ever had the coordination needed to do this job! I give you a lot of credit for following through on your dreams. Off topic, do you mind me asking how old you are?
  15. I'll join in with you, Horse. Tuesday, October 11, will be my one year anniversary with my current "job" (contingent, aka 'temp', worker) at a pharmaceutical company. There have been virtually no permanent jobs available to apply for, and I can only work contractually for two years before I must leave (some weird NJ state labor law). So one year down, one to go. A downside of this arrangement that I'm in is that I get no paid sick or vacation time, no benefits (which I do have medical coverage through the wife), and no perks or bonuses like the permanent employees. I interviewed for one position in early July but didn't get it (there's 3 people on my team and we all applied for the one headcount), and submitted my application for another position in HR but was never offered an interview. My manager stated that he has asked and submitted paperwork for another position, but so did the rest of the Diabetes Marketing team (he said he heard 67 other managers in DM asked for headcount positions). Hopefully something works out soon. I do get daily alerts of job postings, however most of them are grades higher than I qualify for (I qualify for grades 4-7, most postings have been grades 9-16), and I'm limited with my education degree and background in a medical-based business.
  16. I would even say Gen X too, as I remember perusing the Sears, JC Penny, and BEST catalogs around Christmas time in the late '70s and early '80s. I'd dog ear each page with the items I wanted.. in my mom's, aunt's, and grandmom's books
  17. Definitely!! Though like you I'm not into the rat rod thing, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to see a classic GMC one way or the other. I'm hoping this year's AACA show in Hershey has a '55-'59 GMC in the car show... haven't seen one in several years. The one time I see a '58 GMC, and a Suburban Carrier (a'la Cameo Carrier) pickup nonetheless, my camera messes up the roll of film (I think this was in 1999 or 2000). I can't say I've ever seen another '58 GMC Suburban Carrier since.
  18. One of the fire police officers from my station, a guy in his mid-60s, sold outright his beautifully well-taken care of 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 Extended Cab 4WD pickup and bought this leftover 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab 4WD: I got to see it on Sunday as we provided service for a local station's open house (October is fire prevention month, with the week of 10/10-16 being fire prevention week - go out and support your local fire departments!). I can't wait to see them where I live!!
  19. Link: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/2626731520.html (NOTE: no pictures in ad) While my preference leans toward the '55 & '56 GMC pickups, I wouldn't pass up on owning a '58. Is it a coincidence that I will be in the area where this truck is for sale at the end of this week??? For reference, here's what a 1958 GMC 100 looks like:
  20. shell
  21. drill
  22. Today's word is................. Fluctuations I will never hear or see this word again without thinking of this joke. I was at my bank today; there was a short line. There was just one lady in front of me, an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars. It was obvious she was a little irritated . . . She asked the teller, "Why it change? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen. Today I only get hunat eighty? Why it change?" The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fluctuations." The Asian lady says, "Fluc you white people too"
  23. A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: 'That's the ugliest baby that I've ever seen. Ugh!' The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: 'The driver just insulted me!' The man says: 'You go right up there and tell him off, go ahead, I'll hold your monkey for you. Two weasels are sitting on a barstool. One starts to insult the other one. He screams, 'I slept with your mother!' The bar gets quiet as everyone listens to see what the other weasel will do. The first again yells, 'I SLEPT WITH YOUR MOTHER!' The other says, 'Go home dad, you're drunk.'
