  1. Don't worry, the 2nd gen ATS will start to put the fat on again. ;-)
  2. The NJ title transfer form tends to have more info on it than the surrounding state's titles provide. Basically, if you get all the info about the owner... full address, DOB, PA License number and the vehicle... color, mileage... you will be fine. NJ DMV probably does more PA transfers than any other state. If you want to be sure, stop by MVS and pick up an out-of-state title transfer form, that way you can see exactly what is needed. Maybe its on the website... It used to be for out-of-state titles that you would get the registration that day at the MVS, but the title would be mailed... but IIRC, NJ has now streamlined the process to the point that you walk home with a fresh title that day.
  3. Yes, I've read that as well... what styling cues made the 1st/2nd gen Barracuda special?... the front end and the roofline/deck and taillights. The roofline in the video is clearly nothing like any previous 'Cuda roof/deck. Also, depending on how you look at the image in the video, there might be wraparound taillights (ala Altima Coupe)... which would also be not much like a 'Cuda. Hence, I do not feel this is the new Barracuda. After all, if the new Barracuda is nothing like the old one then, sure, the image in the video could be it... or it could just as likely be Jeep's not-so-upcoming new passenger coupe. To be honest, I don't like the car image in the video. I hope that any modern 'Cuda will have a healthy set of historic styling cues... at least something of a wraparound rear window... something that has been missing from the car industry for a decade.
  4. Chevy's historically have not had a strong grill language. The usual Chevy grill was generic and boring with a big-ole BowTie on it. Chevy's made up for this by having the typical strong overall styling GM cars had without the gimmicks. Even most Chevy musclecars tended more towards the sleeper side, appearance-wise. The idea here is to buy upmarket (Pontiac, Olds, Buick, etc.) if you wants gimmicks and a eye-candy grille. Now that Chevy is trying to be everything to everyone, I suppose some strong grille language is in order, but I still maintain that the chrome crossbar is not it.
  5. I was going to throw in the obligitary Waffle House jab, but I thought Waffle House has suffered enough and I thought we were discussing places to get EDIBLE food. Pretty much true.
  6. I like the new grill. The center chrome bar has got to go. Reg, you know how these are going to lose 500 pounds? Stop making them 6 foot tall... lowering the beltline by chopping 10% of the body out... 500 pounds gone... but then you have... a... gasp! A station wagon! ;-) Then you can save a fortune in development costs by using the front end of a Malibu.
  7. I always get Shoneys and Stuckey's mixed up. I really want a Stuckey's Pecan Log. Haven't had one in almost 2 decades. Shoney's is kind of a low rent IHOP or Denny's... I would think too ghetto for seniors...
  8. Needless to say, I found the Edge to be much more comfortable than the Nox. The current Nox is a bit too small, and am sorry to see its shrinking more. I actually preferred the 1st gens.
  9. I'm with fullmoon here. If the Barracuda comes out, I think its going to either look very similar in shape to the Challenger or else the rear of the car will have a first/second gen roof/deckline... and the car pictured in the video is not striking me as either. I'll also go out on a limb and say the car in the video looks too small to be LX... perhaps a study for a possible Avenger-sized coupe?
  10. Welcome to the cult of the Poncho. Shame to hear you gave up on the Achieva, after you took so much care of it. I feel you could have swapped in another engine for considerably less than $2200. That said, the Firebird is more in the styling of your !!!TED!!! logo. Good luck with it.
  11. So would I... but it needs a 4 inch stretch, so I can get in one. +1 I love the car but at 6'6" I cannot fit in! Leave the top down all the time and use an umbrella.. That won't for me. After my disaster at the NY auto show in 2009 (?) when I got pretty badly stuck in the Solstice coupe, I tried getting into a Sky with the top down. LOL, did not work. I could not fit DOWN into the passenger seat, between my thigh bones being too long and my torso/shoulders being too wide. Best way for me to ride in a Kappa is to sit on the back of the seat... upper decker style.
  12. Dell and Lenovo haven't suffered from 40 years of missteps.
  13. So would I... but it needs a 4 inch stretch, so I can get in one.
  14. Yeah, leave the visual timestamp off... assuming you have the date/time set in the camera right, most cameras will put the timestamp in the metadata, which does not affect the picture itself.
  15. That was never the case. Snopes has a great debunk of this myth. http://www.snopes.com/business/misxlate/nova.asp
  16. Camino, the guys are getting confused... it sounds to me like the timestamp in question is in the metadata... but some of the guys are intrepreting the removal of the timestamp, as a visual timestamp that appears in the corner of the photo. (Obviously, the way to remove those is usually to crop the photo, assuming you are not losing something important)
  17. Sure, if you manually edit the file. I'm sure there are some apps out there that would give you the feature.
  18. Balthy, as usual, hit it right on the head.
  19. The article mentions that the ditch/depression helped the woman survive... I disagree, as this would only be the case if the trailer was resting on the near side of the ditch. I also want to make it clear that the part of the trailer resting on the car is not necessarily that heavy... obviously, with the added force of gravity, it was able to make the roof yield, but crushing the rest of the car would require a LOT more weight. Knowing how people pay attention to things going on around them, I imagine she never saw it coming... the roof probably pushed the back of the seat backward and down and sandwiched her... but not enough to crush her. Had the car been full of people, there would have been fatalities, as backseat passengers would also have prevented the seatback from being crushed flat. Most people when they put the seat flat are below the hood/deck. You have to be short to drive a Mazda. ;-) Trailer flipped over onto the car. I don't think the added weight would necessarily pop the tires... it would simply crush the tires down to the rim... which would only increase the air pressure inside by 30% or so. Tires can easily withstand double the rated air pressure when standing still. This was more impressive...
  20. Yeah, neither would I. The rear is better than the front, but the car is inconsistant. Chrome rings around taillights, no chrome around headlights. The flowing rear... but the rear lights are on a perfectly flat piece of sheetmetal... etc. The front headlights from a Mercedes have been done much better a decade ago. The blisters these lights are mounted on make it look like the lights don't belong.
  21. The Gremlin was released onto the public April 1st... and sold in huge numbers for a decade (though it was called a Spirit at the end)... not really a jinx.
  22. I have to disagree, Dfelt... I find the Mini coupes to be one of the better small cars for interior space. My only gripe being that the passenger seat actually has more room than the driver's seat. And I'm 6'4" and over 400. Is it comfortable for me? No... but its driveable for 2hrs a shot. Remember, I don't find the Malibu/Impala comfortable, either, though. I do recall the legroom being a tad tight... so if your a leggy 6'6", I could see it being a problem... as I'm all torso.
  23. Well, they were OK for a midsize Dodge or Plymouth... making a Chrysler out of them was really tainting the brand.
  24. Yes, I would believe it would. I used to work back in the late 70's for a pizza chain here called Pizza Haven and they did all deliveries in Propane powered chevy trucks. It was awesome. Well, my fear is that since the genset is designed to run at exactly 3600 rpm, there is no throttle valve... just a metered preset valve or orifice hole. I actually have a propane dual fuel tophat for carbed applications, like old pickups. I bought it on eBay about 15 years ago since alt-fueled cars in NJ are emissions exempt. However, I never found a decent LPG tank and the time to convert one of the cars. I think the darn thing got wet, so I'm not sure if its any good now.
  25. I have a propane slant 6 from 1987... but its not in a car, but in a generator. Makes me wonder if the propane setup has enough functionality to work on a car.
