    MOMS

Yes, my mom constantly asks questions. The other night she called me to see how I was doing. That's all fine and well, but then she asked me all these other questions for about two minutes, and I was trying to get some work done. I want to be like, "Mom, I'm not five anymore, and if I needed something I'd call you to let you know, so please just let me be and don't call me for absolutely no reason at all except to see if everything is going okay. If it wasn't, I'd call you and tell you," but I don't want to be rude. I don't remember what she asked me last night at all because I was trying to do other stuff and just kept answering yes or no without really caring what she was asking. However, the other night I had an intramural basketball game, and she called me to make sure my sister was coming to pick me up, and to make sure I took a gatorade to get a drink. When I told her I didn't have a gatorade, she said to be sure to take water then. I was like, "mom, they have drinking fountains at the gym."
  2. Non-Buick/GM fans associate "Century," and "LeSabre" with "old man's car." Perhaps that is the case with any Buick to some extent, but I doubt we'll ever see old Buick names return, and for good reason.
  3. Ford has raised prices somewhat it appears; a GT is now $26440.
  4. I'm glad GM is standing behind it. They should have stood behind the Boy's Dream Corvette ad that got pulled too. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has better things to do than worry about a Robot having a bad dream.
  5. I was thinking the color display is what the concept has, but looking at the pic in high-res, it says NAV on it, so that's not a good sign. The thing above the controls only has red, so that better not be "color." On Wieck there are pics of a red G8, hopefully that one is at the show, too.
  6. I'm glad you can still get the color display, because I'm not liking the radio much without the color display. Thanks for posting!
  7. Ninety-Eight - Good post, I agree with what you're saying here. Loyalists will buy a Pontiac whether it's called Grand Prix or G8. Conquest buyers will associate "Grand Prix" with "rental car" and not give it a chance. With G8 they might. Since when did Buick have an AWD car? GM should offer it so that people in the snow belt will still consider Pontiacs, and the same for Buick when the Lucerne goes RWD.
  8. The interior looks nice, but I'm not sure about the exterior. I guess I'll decide in a couple days when I see it in person.
  9. Oh, there are plenty of people like that, just go over to Toyotanation and read some of RAV4EVR's posts. I'll quote some here about the new Highlander: When someone posted a picture of the Enclave's interior and said it was better: Based on new real-life pics: About the Acadia:
  10. It's over a foot shorter than the Lambdas. The interior looks pretty good, even if it is a Honda rip-off, and the gauges are weird.. The exterior looks like complete crap, however. I'm not sure if I can think of a worse looking SUV in this class. It looks like a mix between the RAV4, Santa Fe, and Forester. I will get to see it in person in just a couple days, so I'll see if it really looks so terrible in person. The Lambdas crush this, though it will be interesting to see how much they are cross-shopped. This looks rather cramped inside in comparison (notice the very skinny opening to get to the third row). I really think this is like the Edge or Santa Fe, but pricing might be similar to the Lambdas.
  11. Umm, nonstop? How can it take them that long to fix the problem? They should move us to another server while they fix it.
  12. That is speculation. As evok said I believe, there is absolutely no indication that the G8 will move to Oshawa. That doesn't mean a NA-designed G8 won't be built in Oshawa, but there's no reason to build this one there.
  13. All three exteriors are bad. The Highlander's interior looks on par with the Outlook, and it has similar numbers. The Outlook doesn't look like ass though.
  14. Well, I'm personally not too confident that snow tires get better traction in snow than performance tires get in dry conditions. Therefore, I'm pretty sure you'd still be sliding around most of the time. A V6 might be ok, but when you have 360+HP and 390+lb-ft of torque available very low in the rev range, you're going to be sliding.
  15. Where did you get those? They aren't on the GM wieck site. I would guess most people can't drive a 360HP RWD vehicle in the snow. The GTO would be near impossible to drive in more than a dusting, I think. The other day I was driving (no snow) and just going around a turn at a normal speed, and the rear end broke loose with traction control on. Of course, I'd be going slower than normal speed in the snow, but there would be absolutely no business in driving it in more than an inch or so of snow. The rear end would constantly be sideways, and most people don't want to deal with that.
  16. It will probably show up in the Camaro and other future Zetas. Perhaps a Silverado SS as well. Where is the 450HP figure confirmed?
  17. Well folks, R&T decided to break the embargo, so here ya go: http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?se...article_id=4733 EDIT: Well, looks like bostonspider beat me to it by a few seconds.
  18. The GTO really didn't sell that poorly for what it was. A 2-door, V8, 4-passenger coupe that didn't get very good gas mileage and had a tiny trunk. I'm sure some people need more trunk room than 7 cu. ft. on a regular basis. I don't, so the GTO is fine for me, but many, many people would not be okay with only having a tiny amount of room in the trunk, assuming it is their only car. The gas mileage would also be a turn off for some, though there aren't many cars that you can get the level of performance, power, and roominess as the GTO, so that is to be expected. Being a coupe also eliminates many buyers, as does being only a 4-passenger vehicle. The bottom line is that the GTO was an amazing performance bargain, and if you could live with the few shortcomings, it was one of the better cars GM sold, and quite possibly the best aside from Cadillacs and the Corvette. I believe someone with access to sales figures on a by-trim basis said that the GTO actually sold better than SS Camaros and WS6 Trans Ams, and at a higher price, so when you take that into account, I'm not so sure it really sold that poorly. I think the G8 will easily sell 30k. I'm guessing the GTO may have sold 30k if it had 4 doors. The G8 has 4 doors, a good trunk, more modern styling, a better interior (assuming Holden didn't take a step backwards), and it should handle better (newer chassis), and it can seat 5. All of those things will easily add up to more sales. I know many GTO owners are already considering trading their GTO's in on a G8.
  19. It's obviously a GTO... maybe they did something special to it?
  20. There's no way that we're getting it for $22k and change with a V8, but I could see it coming in at GP GXP levels ($29k-2750 = ~$26k). Lutz also said it would be priced at around $25.5k. Whether that is with the V8 or not, we shall see.
  21. I don't remember exactly what happened to budman. I remember something about his girlfriend getting into a car accident and dying later in the hospital, but take that with a grain of salt until it is confirmed. I don't remember for sure.
  22. Isn't that the current Cobalt?
  23. That's the Torrent.
  24. I think it's silver, and it's just the concept.
  25. A white one? The one Fly is talking about is silver.
